I want to load a swf into a Flex application and scale it down into a thumbnail-size.I've looked at http:[url].... but it does not really address my need: I want to size it and keep all the pieces inside a container.
I have the code below working great except for not being able to scale the JPG file once it's loaded.
The code below loads my JPG files into a a group of MovieClips. Once clicked the Current_mc will jump to the top and enlarge. Once clicked again it scales back down. My plan is to load in a large JPG file (800x460) in the loader but have the size be small until someone clicks one to enlarge it. So...long story short I want to know if I can load the JPG file and set it's width and height in the loader
one last thing. Is their a way with AS to set "Smoothing" to true? If my images come in smaller they will probably look like crap till they are scaled up to 100%.
i have external swf with a size of 750x500, then it loads to main swf where it size is 750x700 now i want my external swf loads to main with its fix size which is 750x500, how should i do that?i've tried stage.stageWidth etc and swfLoader.width etc, but doesnt work.
I've got a nifty bit of script that loads some images from an XML file into flash. It loads the pictures into specified movieclips:
ActionScript Code: xmlImages.reset(); xmlImages = new XML(); xmlImages.ignoreWhite = true; xmlImages.onLoad = loadImages; xmlImages.load("[URL]"); function loadImages(loaded) { [Code] .....
Each instance of the movieclips are called picture_mc1, picture_mc2 etc. On the frame where these picture_mc's sit, I've got this code: ActionScript Code: function randomImage() { if (loaded == filesize) { image = (imageFileName[0]); picture_mc1.loadMovie(imageFileName[0], 1); picture_mc1._xscale=23; picture_mc1._yscale=23; [Code] .....
Everything works fine, but my image scaling is making my picture_mc's look really pixilated. I've seen references to bitmap image smoothing, but i'm not sure the best way to approach this. It seems that each time I try and smooth my images, the code is smoothing the image placeholder, rather than the jpg that's being loaded into it.
I have a quite different problem with resizing. I have a Flexbook component which uses the middle part of screen (center) with a html header menu and footer. The problem: The scaling works perfectly when we run in the local machine ( Flexbuilder). But when we deploy it to the server its like scaling never existed.. The requirement: when user maximizes the window or minimizes it, the Flexbook should be resized to fit the screen.
Scenario: main moveiclip with 4 other clips in it. I want the rolledover clip to scale up and all the others to scale down and blur.
Question: What is the most effiecent way to code this. Would it be a "for in loop"? I am trying to minimize the code and would rather not use a whole bunch of if then statements.
How can I convert the current scale of the instance to 100% so I can easily "visualize" and manage the instance when I modify its scale? Here's the actionscript, it works, but I just want the temp._xscale and temp._yscale to be in percentages, not real numbers.
Code: USflag.onMouseDown = function () { var temp = USflag; onEnterFrame = function ()
[code]....
One last thing, what's the tag you have to put that is designed for boxing actionscripts? I'm suing [ code ][ /code ]
Fullscreen mode and I have been battling for a while in this Flex application, and I'm coming up short on Google results to end my woes. I have no problem going into fullscreen mode by doing a Application.application.stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;, but the rest of the content just sits there in the top, left corner at it's original size.
All right, says I, I'll just do a stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL and make it figure out how to pull this off. And it looks like it does. Except that when you mouse over the individual checkboxes and buttons and various components, they all fidget slightly. Just a slight jump up or down as they resize...on mouse over. Well, this is frustrating, but bearable. I can always just invoke invalidateSize() explicitly for all of them.
But for the comboboxes. The ones at the bottom have their menus go off the bottom of the screen, and when I pop out of fullscreen mode, their drop downs cut off half way. I have no idea how to fix that. Can someone step in here, and put me out of my misery?
What is the right way to scale a Flex application up to fullscreen?[code]...
if I create a simple app with stratus tecnology and I get millions of users, then how can I scale the application ? How chatroulette have resolved the scaling issue ?
I need to scale and clip images into square sized tiles to put into a tile list. Here's how
For each image, I want to scale the shorter side (either width or height) to fit in the tile using the "letterbox" scaleMode (so that it maintains aspect ratio).Then I want to position the image in the center and clip away anything left over from either both sides or the top and bottom.
I have an image with width=600px and height=1200px. First I want to scale the image to width=300px and height=600px (notice that aspect ratio is maintained), then center the image vertically and clip the image to 300 x 300.
Is this possible? This is actually a pretty standard way of displaying square thumbnails in many photo-based web sites, but I can't find a way to make it work in flex.
I'm looking simply approach to prevent scale thumb within flex scrollbar'According to our wireframes we should display scrollbar without up-down arrows and cycle (without scale) as a thumb;
I am basically trying to create a display object transformation manager which will allow me to scale/rotate objects. I am currently trying to figure out how to rotate an object so its corner follows the current x and y of the mouse. I always get confused on the math of things like this. I know how to listen for the events and everything, I just am unsure of how to calculate the amount of rotation to apply. I will probably be rotating via a Matrix so I can rotate the object around its center, rather than the upper-left corner of it. My question here is: how do I get values when I don't want them constrained, like scaleX and scaleY?
I want to create a fairly large-scale Flex web application that has a similar interface style to Grooveshark.
When it comes to web development, I have always used the common PHP/HTML/JavaScript technologies. Now, I want to try something new and develop a RIA using Flex.
Using PHP/HTML/JavaScript, I am able to develop my entire website with free tools. Now, I'm wondering if I am able to do the same thing with a Flex web application?
Is it possible/feasible to develop a Flex web application for free? If not, what would be the lowest cost I would need to spend? And, whatever the option, what are the tools that would be needed?
I'm developing a Flex application that is designed for screen resolutions of 1280x1024 and more. In the rare case that a projector is used (which usually has a maximum of 1024x768 pixels) I'd like to scale down the application (currently I get lots of scrollbars and clipping).
I've already experimented with the application's properties scaleX and scaleY as well as stage.scaleMode. However, I couldn't quite figure out a way to
render the application without scaling when the application's width and height are larger than certain values use scaling when the width or height are smaller than certain values
I am still struggling with transforming my app build in Java/Eclipse to Flex/Actionscript with Flashbuilder.Now I can not find how I should implement an image to cover the hole screen.[code]...
I'm developing a Zoom tool in my Flex App, so I'm using scaleX and scaleY property to simulate this behaviour.But when I scale my Canvas, its size change as well (obviously). The problem is that I have this Canvas inside another Canvas, so the first Canvas can't be smaller than the second one.Here is an image before and after apply zoom changing scale property in both axis:At the left, the original Canvas. At the right, Canvas after update its scale (red rectangle is the original size at 1:1, and green is after resize).I need to extend the Canvas to take up the red rectangle (not the green).
My Flash image will not scale.if you zoom in, it gets chopped up. if you zoom out, it has a big blank area.What should I change in order to have this Flash image scale just like the rest of the site? [URL]It is the Flash in the center.
I have been looking on google and couldn't find a answer. I have a application I created in adobe flex and I need it to scale to the users screen and fill the entire browser window no matter what.
I have some code to scale an image's width according to its height after the image is being loaded. It works fine on my development PC if I point to the wrapper html using local file system path. However, after I deploy the web application to JBoss AS 5.1, it stopped working - it always sets the image width to 0, causing it to disappear.
There is an Image control that when I click on it I need to zoom in (using the center/transform point where the mouse is clicked). I have the zoom transition working great, but when I set transformX & tranformY (with autoCenterTransform false) it doesn't zoom into that point.
Here is my code that only zooms in (not to a specific point) <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ protected function imgLogo_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { transformer.play(); } ]]> [Code] .....
I wrote these functions which I use in conjunction to scale down some BitmapData and save it as a PNG. However, the scaledImage.draw(originalImage, scalingMatrix, null, null, null, true); line with smoothing set to true does not have the intended smoothing effect when I save the bitmap data as a PNG using the second function. The resulting image file is not antialiased at all. Is there anything I'm doing wrong here?
public static function scaleImage(originalImage:BitmapData, size:int):BitmapData { // Calculate the scaled size.
I am trying to find a way to Scale (either font or scaleX&Y) a DataGrid (with equestedMinRowCount = requestedMaxRowCount = requestedRowCount = dataProviderLength), so that it would Always show all the Rows (so no scrollers).Solution I came up with for Scaling is:
protected function thisDatagrid_resizeHandler(event:ResizeEvent):void { if (event.oldWidth < this.width) {
(i'm using flashdevelop / flex sdk)IS there any way filters applied to a DisplayObject (drop shadow, glow, bevel) can scale relatively with the parent (the DisplayObject it is inside)?And what about other properties like .distance for drop shadow?
For example... If I have a 100px rectangle with a 10px glow inside a container object, and I set scaleX/scaleY of the container to .1, I want the glow to inherit the scale change from the parent (1/10th the size) just as the display object does that the filter is applied to.Instead, if you try this, you will see the glow stays at 10px no matter what scale the filter target or the container is transformed by.Pseudocode example (steps to reproduce),
1) create a sprite called _myOuterSprite on stage at scaleX = scaleY = 1
2) create a sprite called _myInnerSprite inside _myOuterSprite at scaleX = scaleY = 1
3) draw 100px rectangle into _myInnerSprite
4) apply 10px glow to _myInnerSprite
5) transform scale of _myOuterSprite to .1
Result:
- child sprite (rectangle) scales to 1/10th the size
- glow stays the same size
How can I make it so that glow scales to 1/10th as well?...without capturing and scaling bitmap data ...without losing interactivity on objects...in a way that would work visually for every filter, not just glow (drop shadow has distance property too, etc)
I'm trying to skin a canvas with an image (which is essentially a custom border for the canvas). I've been trying the backgroundImage style as well as the borderSkin style. I can't get the image to scale to the full size of the canvas though. I was wondering what the best way to go about this is.[code]...
