Feb 20, 2011I'm getting to work with with red5 and am trying to make a basic app that will stream a random video to the client. Let's say I have 3 flvs on my server, I'd like a client to connect to my red5 app and have 1 of these 3 videos streamed to them. The only streaming i've been able to figure out so far uses netStream.play("video.flv"), this doesn't work for me, I want the server to decide on the file to stream rather than the client.

Jun 13, 2009I'm trying to implement a flex app that will be able to record a video from a webcam and then upload it to a server. I've only found tutorials and examples that require a media server running such as Red5, Flash Media Server and Wowza and an open rtmp stream to the server. However, I want to know if it's possible to record a video locally and then submit it to the server with a simple HTTP request. Is there a tutorial somewhere that shows how to do this? I'm really new in flex development

Aug 11, 2011I am using Flex for displaying videos streamed using the Red5 server. Basically i have two perspectives - one who relays and one who receives the broadcast. On the Flex side, in the video display, the video quality is good but on the receiver side it appears pixelated. I can't find the cause. Does this have anything to do with Flex encoding of videos or any Red5 server settings?

Sep 20, 2010I have performance issues with my test web chat app - video playback is very slow on, around 1 frame per few seconds at 640x480, 15fps, quality: 90. Network usage is low (gigabit LAN), cpu's still have some headroom so it should be the software.
Quick description of my setup:red5 0.9.1; simple flash broadcast and subscribe derived from here [URL] and mr. accattato's videos; using oflaDemo on serverside.
Local image on the broadcaster is good.So far I guess flash broadcaster would be the most likely culprit, but here is my worst since I am new to flex. Red5 should not modify the stream I guess, and it doesn't make much sense for the subscriber to play only 1 frame per second.

My Red5 setup seems to work for remote method invocations and shared objects, but I've yet to succeed in getting video working.
This is the AS3 code that connects to Red5:

As said, note that the Red5 setup works flawlessly for remote method invocations and shared objects, but not for video which is strange.

Jun 9, 2010today I install fms3.5 on my pc.
1)I can use rtmp://localhost/vod/mp4:sample2_1000kbps.f4v , it works ok. But when I use rtmp://192.168.8.3/vod/mp4:sample2_1000kbps.f4v, I got Netconnect.connection.rejected. 192.168.8.3 is my fms server IP.
2)When I set fms use port 1935 and 80, rtmp://192.168.8.3/vod/mp4:sample2_1000kbps.f4v works ok on other pc. But using wireshark(Wireshark is a network protocol analyzer for Unix and Windows.) I found , the flash player connect 1935 port at first, it send "connect",the server replay "connection.rejected" and "no scope "vod" on this server". Than it connect to 80 port, so I see the video is not send throw 1935 port with rtmp, but throw 80 port with rtmpt. Why? How can I see video throw rtmp?

Aug 4, 2011We are getting message "Connection has been rejected due to license limit" in flash media server 2.0.5 at the time of connecting to the server. Previuosly that server works fine but today when we tried got above message. May be some changes occur on the system as we dont have controll for that system. But we can check FMS 2.0.5 on that system through managment console of FMS. Please suggest us in which direction we have to look.

May 10, 2011Is it possible to run a Flex client in IntelliJ internally and have it talk to a separately deployed server instance? The server's a java webapp. This will make developing, especially debugging, much easier. What I'm trying to avoid is having to rebuild and redeploy the webapp to get the updated Flex code in it. I want to just build flex and run it against the server.
The flex client is embedded in an HTML page on the server, so in production the users access the client by going to a web page. We're using GraniteDS if that's important.

I'm managed to cobble something together, but it's ugly.I made a copy of our wrapper HTML page and fixed the links to refer to the SWF in target.I setup the IntelliJ run config to point to that HTML page.I set the 'Place SWF file in a local-trusted sandbox' to true
Hardcoded the {server.name}, {server.port}, and {context.root} values in the service-config.xml GraniteDS config file to localhost, etc.
I can mavenize #1, but #3's isn't really a permanent solution. That part is still a problem because I can't check this in.

Dec 23, 2010I am in a situation where user gets the cars data from the database based on the selection and displays it in datagrid like below ( for example)
Company Model Year No
GM Chevy 2010 10

and there will be a link next to datagrid to get Pie chart based on the data displays in the data grid . The pie graph should display grouping by company and the count . I mean for the above example that should give with two pie items , one for GM showing the number of vehicles ( in this case 3 ) and Honda showing the number of vehicles ( in this case 1 ).
I thought of getting it from the database by querying and grouping it .But here the problem is after getting the data above in the datagrid user can able to filter at client end ( By year or model ) and can say get graph . This time that should only display the graph for the data visible in Datagrid .Grouping on database for every operation is becoming expensive. Since we have already data available at client end , is there any way to group it at client ..?

Aug 9, 2011I have a java server side project which contains JAX-WS web-services (using JavaEE 6 and the @WebService annotation).
Is there some kind of plugin that would allow me to generate Flex client stubs during my maven build ?
I have taken a look at enunciate, but it seems to generate only AMF client.
I've also tried to look at GraniteDS, but their doc seems a little opaque to me.
Notice my Flex project is compiled using flexmojos, which contains a flexmojos:generate mojo that should be able to generate domain object (however I don't understand how to say it to use domain classes from ANOTHER project, and not from a different folder).
So, is there any maven plugin that would allow the kind of feature described in this Adobe page ?
Media Server :: Event Viewer Warnings: Connection Rejected By Server. Reason : [AccessManager.Reject]
Jan 5, 2012Looking through our windows event viewer application logs, I've noticed alot of these warning listed. What would cause they messages to generated? Anything to be concerned about? It seems they're all created in between live event streams - after a live stream has stopped published and before the next live event stream begins, about a 20 minute break.

Aug 1, 2009I made an application using Flex,php,mysql. Now to give it to a client, I am bundling this flex application with xampp. There are few problems with this approach :
1. Whenever the flex application runs, an xampp window also opens up.
2. The Apache port number, which I am giving to the client is fixed. Same for mysql port number.
What could be a better alternative to overcome these?
