I'm currently using XHTML 1.0 strict doctype. My question is can i just change my doctype to HTML 5 doctype and add Video player using HTML 5 video. for browser which do not support HTML5 i can a a javascript.
in this condition in supported browser Video will work without Flash player and javascript and in non-supported browser will work with js support.
I am making a video based application.In this application a 720p is need to be play loop wise.I have 5 Sec video that should play automatically after 5 Sec i mean loop.I am making this application for Android and IOS.I had tried the looping thing use timer of 5 sec but there is a jerk after each clip.I need a smoothly looping without any jerk after the clip

Check out the beginning of my site [URL]. Look closely at the flowing dress... it stutters when it tries to loop. However, look at the ripple animation behind the hexagon; it loops just fine. I recall when I worked on the ripple animation that I had a hard time getting it to loop, and that I had to add some action script to it. However, when I look at it, I don't see any action script at all.
I was thinking what I used was

Here is how my files are organized:
FlowingCloth << Movie Symbol, contains a .FLV of the flowing cloth
FlowingDress << Contains FlowingCloth and the Bride graphic

I have a video that I've embedded into a project by means of linking it from my server, where it lives (not embedding it into the actual project) and I cant for the life of me find a way to get the video to continually loop when it finishes. Any looping meathod I've found so far using AS3 only loops the basic animations in the movie, not the video.

- The (video projector) presentation starts with a video in a loop.
- When I click a button on the mouse/keyboard, the video finishes the loop until the end and
- show a transition video and
- start the next loop and so on...

UPDATE 2010-05-14: If I'm not mistaken HD.se uses Flowplayer and all those flasvars are for that. Perhaps someone here is good with Flowplayer? I've never used it myself.
At the end of my SWF video (FLV + XML for closed captions), I want to go back to the beginning of the video, but not replay it...so that when users have finished watching it they have the title page to look at instead of a big black box.

Is it possible to record video through Flash's "Webcam" facility and receive encoded video on server side without any further processing (i.e. just saving the stream to a file)? I am trying to convert our all-flash website to HTML 5.But since so many users still use IE and other browsers that do not support HTML 5 yet,I am looking for some flash media players that can replace <audio> and <video>. View 2 RepliesA project has various local HTML & video files for pages. We need to be able to embed these videos in HTML pages - but because all are local files we have no server-side streaming.
Can I still just use SWFObject? Are there other well-known controls that will let us play .mp4, .swf/flv, .wmv files? This solution is targeting HTML4 across Chrome, FF and IE (I don't know if IE6 is needed).
I created a flash file that contains a flv file inside. After I published it on my Mac in both html and swf format and it played well. But when I copied all this folder include the swf, html and the source flv to test on a pc it played well but the video part (flv) was blank. So I copied the .fla file to pc and published again, then it works fine (including the flv video part) on both pc and Mac. All the settings were same while publishing.So I wonder what's wrong with publish from Mac side? I work with Mac and so it's very inconvenient to publish my work on PC.
View 5 RepliesI have a Youtube video on my homepage, and now I need a modal to display on certain events.For some reason, even when adding <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> to the Flash object, it still covers the HTML elements (with higher z-index too).I've got it on JSfiddle.I figured maybe an iframe could solve this, but that would require me to make a new page just to put the video on.

I have a small ux problem with this embedded object: When scrolling the page up or down using the scroll-wheel of the mouse, it stops working when the mouse cursor is hovering over the video. Are there any html / css / param settings that I can modify to avoid this? See the site itself for a working example. I experience the problem both in Windows 7 64bit and Ubuntu 11.10 64bit so far.
When I publish my FLV video using Flash CS3 and the "SkinUnderAll" option...the player controls are not visible unless I change the height & width in the html file Flash created.But, Flash shows the height & width 3-times in the html.
Question-1: Why 3-times? What does each of the 3 Height & Width references do?
Question-2: How should I modify the code to be able to see the entire video and the player controls?
It seems if I change all 3 everything just gets bigger and bigger.
1 - I import it into Flash CS3 on a PC w/XP Pro using... File | Import | Video take all the defaults and choose "Skin Under All" as the player option.
2 - In "Properties" panel at bottom of screen Flash shows the video as 640x480
3 - I then click File | Publish to publish the video. Flash creates all my files for me.

4 - I then put the folder with the files on my website.
5 - The video plays but the player controls are not visible.

7 - I try changing the 550x400 to 640x480 in all three places... no good. Even at 1000x1000 the entire player is not visible. Everything just gets larger.
What are each of the 3 references to Height and Width in the html file Flash Creates and which should I change to simply show all the player controls?
I want to stop the looping at the end of the movie and then have that movie open up to a different website.When I insert stop action it works. The movie stops.However, whenever I add getURL(http:url]....); The looping continues and never goes to the site.I have tried seperate layers putting each command in a seperate keystone, and I have tried using both of them together.Also I am using CS4 and it gives me an error code for getURL---- The error code says sendtoURL

- I imported an AVI video clip to Flash converting it to FLV
- I published the project
- I put the files on my web server
- It automatically starts playing when you go to the web page

But I can't find their download sample And, they say click on Frame-1 and press F9 then put code snippit in after line 7 But, I see no Action Script when I click on Frame 1 and press F9... a window opens but no code appears...just a long menu on the left.
I have an fla file exported from After Effects that I am trying to get ready for a website so it loops continuously and is web ready.
Details:
- Clip needs to be rasterized and not vectorized (hence the flv format)
- Dimensions are 1400 by 514
- No Interactivity, just a simple looping 4 second clip
