Problem: Icons suddenly disappear after the flash is being loaded. See this screenshot: http:[url]...What I've tried: Setting z-index, recoding the JQuery behind it, nothing works.
I am using Ubuntu 10.10 on my IBM X200t. Installed is the standard flash player plugin for Firefox: (flashplugin-nonfree, 10.1.102.65). Everytime I switch a flash video to fullscreen, the video freezes. However, the video continues to play and I hear sound. How can I fix this?

I created a carousel based off the tutorials and it works great on my computer but, when I create an html file and attach the .swf file the flash file loads but, the icon images or anything from the .xml file doesn't appear.This is what I use to load my .swf file :

Do I have to put a special script in the html document for it to be able to see the xml file?
I have a piece of Flash on an HTML page that when you hover over it, it expands out to reveal more information.There are text links that it expands over, however in everything but IE, when it's not expanded those links are still covered by the Flash making them unclickable.I have the Flash piece in a separate DIV wmode set to transparent.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to implement this for an instance of ComboBox specifically, which uses a List to display the dropdown menu full of items. Lists can have icons associated with them, as described in the documentation:

Here's my question - the contents of this ComboBox will be XML-driven, populated dynamically, and I'd really rather include that icon reference as a filename instead of a classname, so that when the whole thing is implemented, the icon can be changed in the XML without opening Flash and adding a new symbol to the library. Clients aren't generally good at that sort of thing.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to find a way to reference the container for the instance of that icon class - the ComboBox.dropdown is obviously keeping a reference to each list item somewhere, and if I can find it, I can load the icon images dynamically, then addChild them to the icon instance.
I have made a presentation with voice over, in which the images and audio files are loaded externelly from the folder where the swf was placed. the voice over files are in MP3 format, loaded with the script follows

I've been struggling to get some absolutely positioned overlays to show above an flv movie(using flowplayer) in the firefox browser(works in safari)I have the overlays div placed underneath the video html "wrapper" and have tried using a high z-index on the overlays but to no avail. Is there anything i may be doing wrong? Or another trick i could try?

I have some HTML and Flash content where the Flash, containing complex vector drawings with a transparent background, is layered overtop of the HTML. I use Flashes wmode=transparent setting to allow the HTML content underneath to be seen through Flash.

I've created a flash banner in action script 3.0. I've attached it with html with swfobject.js method and with wmode transparent. It works in IE 6/7, safari, opera, chrome, but it's sometimes not load in firefox both 2.0 and 3.0. when i removed the wmode property form javascript. it works on firefox.

I have come across a bizarre Flash problem with dynamic text fields. I built a site in flash for a designer about a million years ago. The content in her portfolio's dynamic text fields loads from plain .txt files. The fields, which were set to parse simple html tags, used to do so perfectly. At least the last time I checked in April of 2006. The designer just contacted me last week: one of the fields is no longer parsing the html. ?! I opened the original .fla and it is definitely set to do so. Why would this suddenly stop working?[code]

However, if shockwave flash turned off in Firefox, it won't fallback into image and show bunch of characters instead looking like "CWS..." All other browsers fallback to the image. I verified that we serve application/x-shockwave-flash MIME type on our server.

I've searched this and cannot find it. I've tried different plugins and different browsers (Firefox, Opera, and Chrome). I've tried most of the no flash plugins for each of those as well as disabling Flash plugins/addons in the settings. I also renamed the .so file in /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/ i found by searching the system. when i renamed it, makes Firefox and Chrome ask to install Flash, but still:alert(navigator.mimeTypes['application/x-shockwave-flash'].type);returns:application/x-shockwave-flash'm not sure what else to try without uninstalling Flash, but that will be a total pain in the ass for this. I also REALLY don't want to use SWFObject just to see if Flash is at all installed which I can do simply with:
View 1 Repliesi have had cs4 for a long time now, and yesterday it suddenly took flash 10 minutes to open a document. i have loaded different documents to see what is the problem and found out it was the documents containing a lot of code (on frame1) that made him almost freeze. it takes ages to open medium size .as files, and even editing normal stage objects takes about 5 times longer. flash takes about 25% of cpu. i reinstalled, restarted, cleared aso, nothing.

I had added a new function just before this error started appearing, but it had absolutely nothing to do with the embedding and the problem still happens after I comment out everything I added before the error.
For developing Flash / ActionScript packages on Windows, there is no better free tool than FlashDevelop.Unfortunately, its reliance on the .Net framework make it ill-suited for AS3 development on Ubuntu. (My attempts to get it working with Mono failed - the installer wouldn't even work.)Is there a similar tool for use with Ubuntu?

When I upload my site on my Ubuntu server and tried to see my site from my local browser, the swf file not loaded properly. It just shows the main image and is like AS3 don't runs.

I don't know what to make of this. Has anyone hear or seen anything like this happen before? BTW the website was created in Adobe Flash CS4/ AS 3.0 and published using Flash Player 10.

I want to have a movieclip and when I drag it to transform the same way the Ubuntu windows transform. I believe that there is something to do with matrix transformations.

SUDDENLY, when i move all the files off of my desktop into a different folder, i receive compiler errors, stating it can not find my custom class .as file, even though it's in the same folder! why is this happening? here's my entire frame script:

I'm using Uploadify to allow for multi file uploading in my web application. It has always worked across IE 7,8, 9, FF 3.6, Safari and Chrome. Today I discovered by accident that it was working in each browser yet not in Chrome. I'm currently on Chrome 10.0.648.82 beta. The issue there is that I can select files to upload, yet after that nothing happens. I put alerts in all Uploadify events and non get fired. Then I went to the official demo site: [URL]
...and discovered that it does not work for Chrome there anymore either. I am running Chrome as default as can be, so it updated to this version itself. I have all default settings intact and no popup-blockers, ad blockers or any other add-in installed. I tried to debug using HTTP Fiddler, only to conclude no HTTP request is made at all after selecting files to upload.
I try to code an as3 where I need to duplicate a mc casted from objects, which are loaded from an XML file. My goal is to make a wrap around effects for animated menu icons that use separate swf files.this is the function I try to create, but my concern is in the else statement:

in the copyFirst/Last declaration I try to dupe refFirst and refLast... but It seems not to be the good way (error).
I've just installed Flash builder on my machine, which went ahead and installed the debug version of Flash on my machine as well. It appears now that this has broken Flash in my browsers or at least the browsers have no idea where flash is located on my machine. When I open a browser and navigate to a Flash page I get the message,
"Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player. Get Flash "
This is from Google chrome but FF is also effected.
