Dec 4, 2011I am an artist trying to remake my website...I have a picture of a window on my homepage. The window is a movie. When clicked on, the window lights turn on and a grid of thumbnail pics appear. Each thumbnail is a movie clip. When a thumbnail is clicked on, the movie plays and a larger image appears over the window. The problem is, the window is still active underneath the large image, so if I click on the large image, I am really clicking on the window movie clip underneath, and the thumbnail grid disappears-starting the window movie clip over. How do I make the window clip inactive after it is initially clicked? Also, I would like the larger images to end their movie clips after another thumbnail is clicked, so that there aren't large images piled up on top of each other.

Oct 27, 2009Is a command for AS2 to make my movie file play fullscreen (stretch, fit to screen, anything).
goFullScreen(); is great but it leaves white bars left and right. What's odd is that I'm using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and it seems to display a perfect widescreen that I want as an input and output but once compiled in flash, it's more square leaving me with white bars left and right. The frame for the video in flash is also widescreen looking.
edit: I ended up stretching the width of the frame but if there is a better way through a command that would make my life easier so I don't have to adjust to every monitor that I run this on.
Making Flash Movie Accessible For Screen Readers?
Jul 12, 2009I have just finished a flash movie for a client which is an interactive payslip to explain all the different sections. They have got back to me and said it's great but I need to make this accessible for screen readers etc, and sent me the following link: [URL]. I have read through it all and I am slightly confused as to now how to make my complete movie accessible. Can I just add in the text links on the Accessible panel for the movie clips or will I have to create a whole separate column of hidden content for people to tab through?

Is there a easy way to do that in bulk. I.E. If i have button 1 I want it to show only screen 1 and hide screens 2-40. Button 2 will show only screen 2 and hide screens 1, 3-40

May 3, 2009When I open Flash CS3 to create something,if the Flash window is not maximized, it disappears off the right side of the screen(s).If I maximize the window using the task bar, it's fine,but it covers up the other resources I need to use. I'm using Vista Business and Flash CS3 with two screens, the extended one on the right.
Right-click the Flash button on the taskbar and select Move.What happened: When I use the arrow keys, nothing appears to happen.When I move the mouse, the arrow pointer comes in from the extreme right side of the screen.When I hold the mouse button down and drag, a four-headed arrow appears at the extreme right, but the Flash window does not appear .Reboot. What happened: Flash is still off the screen unless maximized.
What happened: I found a registry hack that I tried (next item) but it didn't work.Use Regedit to modify settings (after exiting Flash): HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Adobe > Flash 9 > Settings > WindowThe current value is 12639 960 13919 1872.I assume these are X and Y for upper right position and pixel length and width, but I don't know in what order.I tried a couple of values, including 0 0 0 0 and 100 100 100 100.I tried rebooting, verifying that the Window values were the same as those I had set, and ran Flash. i have a variable in flash, equal to something like "images/image.jpg", and I want to make a button so when you click it it opens up a popup window thats a certain size, without menubars/scrollbars etc, to display that image, like a javascript on your standard HTML.
I read that flash has a javascript API, so there must be a way to do it huh? Is it getURL stuff, maybe with a POST of my variable?

Aug 7, 2009I'm working on a Flash video slideshow (which you can preview here).
I would like to be able to make it so you can click a button (I've got one made in the doc already) that will make just the video on each "slide" go full screen, similar to how you can do so with other videos on sites like YouTube and others.
While what I've linked to above is just a template I'm messing with, I'd like to be able to have a video on the right, let's say, with text on the left, and then be able to click a button (perhaps under the video that says "full screen) and have the video that is there fill the whole window and play. And then, hitting escape would bring you back.
I've seen plenty of tutorials for making Flash go fullscreen, but nothing out there yet for just the FLV contained on the page go full screen.

Flash Window Is Off The Edge Of The Screen, Unable To Recover
Sep 9, 2008Using Adobe Flash CS3 on a sometimes dual monitor setup. After attaching back to my docking station, and starting up Flash CS3, the window is off the edge of the right hand monitor somewhere, and I am not sure where. The mouse cursor makes it look like the window is somewhere off the lower right hand corner of the screen somewhere, but even after holding in the left and up arrows for a long time, there is no motion, and the window never appears. I can maximize the program back to my primary monitor, but this is hardly an ideal solution.

At present the initial HTML page has a "launch site" link which pops up a fullscreen window (via javascript window.open) with our Flash content.Once in the Flash site, all URLs that point at off-site destinations are set to open in a new window ("_blank" as the target - either an href in text, or via navigateToUrl). In Mac Firefox the new window opens BEHIND the full-screen Flash (as a new tab in my case). In Windows FF and IE, and Mac Safari, the new window pops in front of the fullscreen Flash.Is there a way to make the non-fullscreen window pop in front of the fullscreen Flash? I'm using swfobject 2.1 - perhaps I need to use an externalInterface call...thoughts?

However, when I adapt the button code to actionscript for use with a flash button it starts to trigger the popup blocker. figure out the correct actionscript to make this work without being blocked?

Javascript :: Flash - Automatically Maximize Browser Window And Switch To Full Screen Mode?
Jan 23, 2010I am working on a Flash app that is 900x700 pixels. When viewed in misc. browsers at 1024x768, the browser chrome causes robs too much of the vertical space and the app appears in a window with a vertical scrollbar. Unacceptable.
The flash app will be launched via a link emailed to the viewers.
I'd like to avoid resizing the flash app and am wondering if there's a way to do the following via javascript, with no clicks involved:maximize the current browser window remove current window address bar and tabs / switch browser to full screen view (equivalent to pressing F11).
An alternative would be to resize the flash app vertically to match the browser canvas height to avoid scrolling. This may cause the app to become unreadable, so not the best approach in my case.
UPDATE: Seems that browser resizing and autoswitch to full screen won't work and neither will the flash app auto resize. What is the best approach then? And, some users may have browsers with toolbars or open a small browser window.
The only idea I have is to use javascript and display a message to users with small browser windows to pres F11 manually. The audience is executes and some may not even know what an F11 means...

In the swf, the user has to type in some information in order to advance through the swf. The problem is that in order to type in information, the user has to click inside the swf in order to make it work. The output window needs to be able to print char by char in multiple colors, wrap horizontally and scroll vertically.Most of that isn't a problem with the default TextField class, but I'm having a lot of trouble getting the colors right.If I use the htmlText property and wrap each character with "<font color=000000></font>" it starts a new line each time I add text.TextFormats don't seem to work at all for some reason. I do something like this:
