Php :: Reporting True Game Scores In Flash?

Jan 26, 2011

Im making a flash game and just wondering, how can I protect the ingame scores from being hacked ? For the moment im using a random number, which is set on the server and sent to the client, then using a hashing function which will hash 'score+randNumber' (a bit more complex, but the same idea), then i send the resulting score and the hash to the server (obviously logging attempted cheats). This so far works, but it is still easy to hack the score by decompiling the flash and finding out what the hashing formula is. Is there any other way that the scores can be transmitted to the server with little or no possibility of hacking?

ActionScript 1/2 :: Flash Game High Scores Board

Sep 29, 2010

I know this is a subject that gets covered a lot as i have found a ton of tutorials that show a million different ways to create a high scores board on a flash game. So I decided to go out on a limb and pick a tutorial out to try. Well I have now tried 3 different ones and have yet to get a working high scores board with my game. [URL]

That is the link to the most recent attempts to creat my high scores board. When I finished everything the way the tutorial said it seemed like everything would work and then it just didnt. After spending oh about 40 plus hours trying to make a high scores board I am getting very frustrated. My game is scripted in AS2 and I have access to mysql and can set up unlimited databases.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Game - Storing High Scores, Winners With Multiple Users?

May 16, 2011

I've been asked if I can build a game, which lots of people will play and the overall winner will get a prize.The game part is simple enough, and I know enough PHP/MySQL to put something together to store the results etc. But is there something already available which could do this part for me, it would save a lot of time, and would probably be better than something I build myself.

I need to compute scores and would also like to notify users on their progress.There are 5 questions , 20pts each = 100pts;

I built two arrays (rightAnswers will compute scores and completeAnswers will give them their progress :

var rightAnswers:Array = new Array(next1_mc, next2_mc, next3_mc, next4_mc, next5_mc); var completeAnswers:Array = new Array(submit_btn, submit2_btn, submit3_btn, submit4_btn, submit5_btn);

I know I need to set them both at 0 something like: so I think the function for the FIRST progress_txt (twhich their will be 5 for each question completed)<<clueless on this one

ActionScript 2.0 :: Soccer Game - Showing Classic Results Realtime With Scores

Jul 19, 2003

I want to make a soccer score game. A game that shows classic soccers results realtime with the score at the point they where scored.

An example:
World Cup 1986 Mexico
West Germany - Argentina
The final score 2 - 3
The players who scored and the exact time:

---West germany---
Rummenigge (74 min)
Voller (82 min)
------------------

---Argentina------
Brown (23 min)
Valdano (56 min)
Burruchaga (85 min)
------------------
The total of matches with data like above is 45.
The total time of a soccergame is 90 minutes.

And further more I want a start player selection kind-of-thing like this:
USER INPUT
select game [] (ex. VM 86 mexico, VM 94 USA etc.)
select number of players: [] (ex. 4)
select number of games pr player [] (ex. 5)
Select total time of playing [] (ex. 60 minutes)
Write the name of the players

1. Load external data (the pool of matches)
2. Get user input
3. Select random matches for the players
4. Calculate the time (90min/60min etc.)
5. Tell clock countdown the time and start the countdown from 90min to 0min
6. When a scoretime is equal to clockcountdown time then display game score and the soccerplayer who scored and the name of the player who got the match.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash - How To Store Game Assets

Is there a way for Flash to store content that will not be deleted with the browser's cache?Imagine a game that runs in the browser but is still heavy enough that you don't want your users to go through downloading assets again every time.Now that LSO obeys browser cache deletion (it does, right?), is there another way? Using Air would work but you'd have to download and install a client, which defeats the purpose of browser games.

ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Store Objects In Game

Feb 18, 2009

Suppose I have a list of 100 enemies on the stage like this (pseudocode):

Code:
// init:
enemies = new Array();
for (i=0; i<100; i++) {
temp = new Enemy(a, b, c);
stage.addChild(temp);
enemies.push(temp);
}

Now enemies is an array of all the enemies, so I can update all of their positions, and other properties, each frame. Is this a good way to do things? Because I just realized that I'm storing each enemy twice: One time in enemies Array and one time in stage.children. Maybe I should get rid of the enemies Array altogether, and just use stage.getChildAt() to update the enemies?

Database :: Flex - AIR's Encryption And Secure Local Store Secure Enough?

Apr 7, 2012

We are planning a desktop client application with Adobe AIR. The client app will be delivered to our customers with a database, which contains monthly updated marketing data provided by our company. As different customers will buy different sets of data from us, for example, a customer is only interested in marketing data in a specific product category, while another customer need all data in a certain region. After a customer installs this client app, new data will be emailed to the customer every month.

So, the requirement is to keep the data accessible only by the customer who bought it. After reading through AIR's secure local store and database encryption feature, I came up with the following design: each customer will have his own secret key (stored in AIR's secure local store), the secret key is used to encrypt the data that the customer has purchased. Of course, the monthly data that we sent to the customer will be encrypted using the same secret key. So my questions are: is AIR's database encryption and secure local store secure enough for this use case? If someone gets the encrypted database file, can he decrypt the DB?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Store A Simple Cookie That Will Remember The Score For The Next Time The User Plays The Game?

May 6, 2007

I'm just trying to store a simple cookie that will remember the score for the next time the user plays the game (the score governs if an option is visible or not)It all works fine until I close browser/reload the page, at which point the shared object seems to disappear, any clues?

Write:

Code:
var rem_score:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("score");
rem_score.data.score = new Number(score);
rem_score.flush();

The problem prolly lies in my write code but ill post the reading aswell just incase there is a problem with that too

Code:
var rem_score:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("score");
if (rem_score.data.score != undefined) {
this.remdscore = rem_score.data.score;
if (rem_score.data.score >=30) {

[code]...

There is another point it is read but it is the same sort of thing as the above.

Ranking Game That Captures User / Their Ranks / Date Into A Database

Jan 28, 2009

I'm using Flash CS3, AS2, PHP, mysql database with phpbb user registration. What I'm trying to do is a make a contest game where you have 5 different ladies and the users get to rank them in order from 1 to 5. Since it is a contest, users will need to be logged in. We already have a database of users based on phpbb, and a registration page. I need them to be able to log in using that username/pass and then they can play the game.

The game consists of a drag and drop mechanism (which I have) so the user can drag "#1" to "girl-4", drag "#2" to "girl-5" etc. Once they drag and drop all the boxes into the order they want, the user then submits it. The data I need to capture in the database is the User, date/time, their rank order (seperated so we can do a query to figure out how many they got right out of the 5.) The final twist is that we are going to have 9 total 'games', one each week for 9 weeks, and we only want users to be able to play once per week.

For an example you can see a working version here. That one does a bunch of more complicated stuff that I don't want to do. The programmer that did it is no longer here and it has been hard trying to decipher his code. I have the whole drag and drop mechanism using the old code from the above example. This is a snippit of the code. drag1_mc is the number they drag (there are 5, so drag1_mc, drag2_mc etc.) and drop1_mc is the rank location. (also 5, drop1_mc, drop2_mc, etc)

[Code]...
