I want to use a movie in a Flash website, but only have a YouTube link
Is it possible to link to and play the video from YouTube while using the design and skin I design for my site? Or do I have to get tha actual Quicktime, FLV file?

View 1 RepliesFlash Movie that works using Firefox and Safari on my (iMac) desktop, but not after I upload to my website.
I started with an flv video, imported it into an fla document along with a playback skin then published it creating an html file and two swf files. I've checked the html file, and it looks fine. The flv file is only 17MB and I've uploaded all 5 files to my site on:

but all I seem to get is the control skin's "sending data" pole turning.The movie never arrives. I can get much bigger mpeg and wmv movies up on my screen very quickly.
I'm running Snow Leopard on my Mac (OX 10.6.6). I've tried using different videos but nothing seems to work.

I've made similar movies for my websites using flash, and there always seems to be a lag and an image icon while the movie to loads. Here is a site where the movie loads unnoticeably: hensonarchitect com. Is there a way to use flash and have the movie load without an image icon placeholder? The flash movie that I have in mind is only 90kb, so a preloader isn't needed.

I have a simple image transition (motion tween) and after the transition is complete, I want it to flash blur a couple of times before stopping. It would basically be the landing page to a website. So it fades from Black to Gold and then flashes all blurry twice and then stops. I got the tween but now just need the blur.

When I first uploaded the site in Firefox 3.5 the menu buttons were `stuck` and there was a delay of about 30 secs before I could use them. Once I finally got use of the menu buttons I later returned to the site and it worked perfectly. Is this because the site was now in the cache of Firefox?
On my stage timeline there is one navigation movie clip holding aboutl 50 of my photos. Is this delay due the size of this movie clip trying to load?

My client wants to know if its possible to put a hyperlink in a email to his clients that would directly link them to any one of those videos. When I click on the section, the 1st movie starts automatically and plays fine but if I navigate to another area of the website before it finishes, the sound still plays in the background. If I click on a different movie thumb, the sound stops as it should.

View 3 RepliesIs there a code in actionscript 2.0 for flash cs4 to disable left-clicking in IE on a flash swf embedded in an html page...the movie does not contain any buttons, but calls an xml file which contains path to images to be displayed. I tried using another swf file to call the original one (since original one I have only the swf available to use, no fla) but although it works fine in firefox, in IE it still allows users to click on the flash, and also changes to hand-cursor, while should have been the default cursor in use by windows, and no clicking (except right-click)... code is as follows:

I am looking to create a site (or part of a site) that is similar to the following links (which both contain panning movie clips with interactive elements within them). One of the keys to this is that it does not pan until you get to the extreme left or right portion of the screen, so that folks can have an effortless (and un-annoying) experience. Anyways...I have done a TON of research online and have found some stuff, but nothing that has really fit what I'm looking for. No more rambling. View 2 RepliesI followed a tutorial to have a movie clip work as an animated menu for a website. One of the functions is set up as follows:

this.gotoAndPlay("frame label");
gotoAndPlay("frame label");
}
So the animated menu is going to a specific frame in the movie clip while the site is going to the appropriate page. What I can't figure out is how to freeze the menu in the state that it goes to with this function so that it doesn't revert back once the mouse rolls out of the hit area. Does anyone know how to resolve this?
