Xml :: ASP.NET MVC3, Flash Slider With XML Config Referencing Image Paths?
Jun 29, 2011
I'm trying to use flashmo image slider with ASP.NET MVC3 but run into an issue with the XML configuration file for the Flash slider...the XML file uses a direct path to the photos I want to use..for instance:
Does anyone know if there is some kind of program that can convert the XML paths to Flash paths. Hmm...what I'm after is some little program that basically lets me open up an XML file, point on a node or attribute and the program will the flashpath to this node/attribute, where the path is something like: his.firstchild.childnode[2].attribute.jadajada
when I use the Request.InputStream in MVC3 action method to save the file sent by action script I got a corrupted file. When I used firebug to trace the request I realized that the Content-type is "application/x-amf" and has the file name at the end of the stream. knowing that I can't change the action script I need a way to save the file correctly to disk.
The web designer on a project is using Flash Gallery which loads a images.xml file. The SWF expects it to be in the same directory as the .html file. So if I am at the action /Public/Home/Gallery, it would expect the images.xml to be in at Public/Home.
How do I allow the Flash SWF to load the file? I have no access to the source code, so I cannot change the behaviour of the SWF.
I'm working with a flash image slideshow and I'm having trouble getting it to read from my xml file for the captions, the same thing with the images. I've changed the paths on the as well as is there anything I'm missing, any other path I am supposed to change to read off of the correct XML file and image directory? Here's the link - [URL]
where I can get script for xml image loading flash similar to the one at [URL] Notice this is different from "flash carousel" and also has a scroll bar at bottom.
I have been fighting with my issue of loading an xml file from flash for about 10 hours. When I run the swf on my desktop it works fine. If i access the file directly on my server it works fine as well in FireFox and Internet Explorer. When I run it from my portfolio www dot cspsolutions dot ca/portfolio(first portfolio item) and you run it in FireFox it displays the error:
Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: products.xml at ImageChanger() at ImageChanger_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()
I know that the path is correct because I uploaded the whole directory so the file structure should stay the same. To get a better understanding of the situation you can view the file at www dot cspsolutions dot ca/portfolio/imageChanger . It only raises the error in FireFox however the animation does not display in both browsers.
I am using a flash template for my project. The link to flash template is this [URL]. There are categories of image slider like Object, Animals, I want to create more category than four fixed categories. There is also an xml file in it and actionscript file these two files implement image slider. How to increase categories for this slider though you can modify existing categories. I have populate the xml file but nothing happen.
I am trying to add a scrollbar, or prefrably a slider, that zooms in on the specified image when I drag the scrollbar right, and decreases the size when I drag the scrollbar to the left.
Here is my code thus far,
AS3:
mc_img.mask = mc_oval; mc_img.buttonMode = true;
[Code].....
so basically I would like to be able to zoom mc_img with a slider or scrollbar
Currently I am building flash website. But I would like to have images presented using JQuery slider Galleria [URL] Basically, the web is built of the menu on the left. when clicking one of the items from the menu i would like the Jquery Slider show in the middle (over the flash, may be box 700x500).
I wan to write AS3 program that load image base on the paths in multi XML files (user choose which xml file they want by button), the first time it worked properly but in 2nd, 3rd... time, it have an error:
Code: TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties. at Main/processXML() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent()
What i want is: A slider that can be pulled by the user across an image to reveal a second one underneath. The same as this example, only I want a vertical scroll button not a horizontal. [URL]
I am very new to Flash and have been trying to figure this one out for myself. Sadly i can't. What i want is:A slider can be pulled by the user across an image to reveal a second one underneath. The same as this example, only I want a vertical scroll button not a horizontal
this is the code i got from a tutorial....here the images are loader and when the mouse is over each image the CAPTION is shown under the image in a text box. but what i need is...i want the CAPTION to appear when i click on the image(not on mouse over), but i cant find any mouseover event here as well.
We have a project that has been built in Flash and as3. It is a video player of sorts that we want to fully customize. We have different images and color schemes that we want to be able to change very quickly. Right now we have config constants that we turn on and off for different schemes. And in the code there is a massive amount of different spots where the images and such are changed.When we create a new color scheme or whatever, we need to create a new config. Then we have to go through all of the code and put it in correctly.Basically any suggestions for how we can take the current flash project (maybe flex?) and make it customizable a lot quicker.
I am using Flex/Flash to build a UI which front-ends my Rails server application. I am using WebORB as the communication mechanism. My question should apply beyond just WebORB, however. (I think).
Specifically, it has to do with the services-config.xml file. I have a local (laptop) dev environment, a remote dev and a remote production environment. I am sick of editing the URL in the services-config.xml file, rebuilding and deploying every time I want to test in a different environment.
[Code]...
By setting the URI="/weborb" and giving it a relative path, I figured it would work. locally--but it doesn't when I deploy it to my remote dev and prod environments (Heroku). Weird.
Instead of a link, I'd like to call a javascript method that opens up a modal dialog with a list of items. I've tried the following based on some things I found, but I can't get it to work.
loadAsModal() takes in an empty div that i put on the page, and then the menu.jsp which builds the menu given the group id. I made sure to import all of my js libraries on the page.
The flex compiler (mxmlc) allows the use of token substitution in the compiler config xml file, as referenced in the documentation.From the linked documentation it is clear that you can specify your own tokens for substitution on the commandline, but there are also some default/magic tokens available that Adobe has put in place.For example, the snippet below is reduced from an Adobe example on how to fiddle with the framework RSL sourcing:[code]I have highlighted two tokens in use there, namely hosted.rsl.url and build.number. These work "magically" without specifying them on the commandline.
Here is another example that vaguely shows the existence of a ${flexlib} token.Unfortunately, aside from those limited examples I can't find a whisper of documentation on what tokens are available... Is the list of tokens documented somewhere that I can't find? If not, does anyone know what the available tokens are so that this SO question can be the documentation? referenced build.number, I might as well also note that build.number doesn't seem to work quite like Adobe seems to think it does since for me it simply gives me the build number, not the whole string. ie: For flex 4.5.0.20967, ${build.number} just gives me 20967 which is not much help). I had a web link where someone was complaining about the changing implementation of these tokens, but I can't find it anymore.
basically i was trying to make a program execute on the web, but it needs to load in pictures and since i didnt want to make the file size massive i converted where the images would show into a movie clip and used the loadMovie(pathname) procedure (im using AS2) to link the files, it works obviously when i test run it. in the pathname section i have "images/pic1.jpg" and so on for the different pictures as a tutorial i followed lead me to believe that it would find the pathname the program is running from and add the suffix images/pic.... etc to find the picture.
the problem is when i run it on the web its still trying to find the files on my computer, even though there is no part of the code that tells it to look in my documents/folders etc. even when i tried to link the file exactly, so put in oadMovieMy question is why is it still trying to find my local document folders instead of looking at its own run source on the internet. is there a way of absolutely linking it to the images i have now on the internet instead?
Context : I'm working on a Flash application developed with FDT and compiled with Flash CS4 (I need a huge library). It should connect to various Weborb services.Weborb is properly configured. My services are properly executed, and values returned, via the management console. Weborb examples as well as various tests compiled with Flex are fully functionnal.
Problem : when I try to adapt the code to compile with Flash, and setup the remote object like this :
var remoteObject = new RemoteObject(); remoteObject.destination = "GenericDestination"; remoteObject.source = "MyServices.MyService";[code]....
Question: how to properly setup a RemoteObject to connect to a Weborb remoting service from a Flash application compiled with Flash ?
We can auto-generate flex-confix xml file from flash-builder so to provide users that want to compile project on there own would be capable of doing such thing with out buying FB. So we use something like -dump-config slotConfig.xml as flex compiler argment. This generates a file for us... with lots of detailed comments like this one I generated from that project:
Found this great image zoom with slider - any thoughts/tutorials how it might have been done or how it could be recreated? Couldn't find a source file to take a closer look, just the .swf.[URL]
I would like to have an image that is wider than the viewing area be viewed by dragging a slider left or right, it's basically just a custom scrollbar. My first inclination is to make a mask and put the image behind it, and then I assume I would have to connect the slider to the image somehow so when user clicks and drags slider left or right, the image slides with it to show the part so it that are obscured.
I created a 3d model rotated it 360 degrees and exported it an image sequence. I would like to be able import the sequence in flash and rotate the image sequence 360 degrees by creating and dragging a slider.
I have some troubles wtih this gallery. I do not know what to do.(Sorry for my bad english...) I'm trying to do a infinite loop with this gallery, like this sample: [URL] I have no idea how to start. The code and sample:Code: Select allstop();
I am hoping to create a nav device similar to that on the ite. Find the circular nav thingy and move it left and right to move the environment in the background. See how it speeds up the further it gets away from the centre and slows down to a stop when gets back to the centre. I am not worried about the zoom effect butcreating the left and right movement. I am not much of a coder as I am graphic designer.
Basically I am trying to make a VERY simple image viewer using a slider bar to navigate through the movie clip frames. I have been searching for hours for a nice simple tutorial or fla file but I cant find one. The movie clip currently has 8 frames each one an image, but it may have more or less.
I don't want to create movie clips inside movie clips; rather I have created a button which is fixed to slide along a 400px line. I would like to know what on earth I write to link the movement of the slider button to the frames in the movie clip... for example the first image would be displayed when the slider button is between 0 and 50 pixels of the line upon which it slides.
