ActionScript 3.0 :: Loading Image Paths From Xml File?

Aug 4, 2010

I have been fighting with my issue of loading an xml file from flash for about 10 hours. When I run the swf on my desktop it works fine. If i access the file directly on my server it works fine as well in FireFox and Internet Explorer. When I run it from my portfolio www dot cspsolutions dot ca/portfolio(first portfolio item) and you run it in FireFox it displays the error:

Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: products.xml
at ImageChanger()
at ImageChanger_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()

I know that the path is correct because I uploaded the whole directory so the file structure should stay the same. To get a better understanding of the situation you can view the file at www dot cspsolutions dot ca/portfolio/imageChanger . It only raises the error in FireFox however the animation does not display in both browsers.

Actionscript 3 :: Reconfigure Class File Paths In A FLA File?

Jan 3, 2012

I have a lot of library assets linked to external as3 classes. I would like to change the structure of the packages containing the linked classes, but if I do so, all links will get broken.

Is there any way to automatically or at least easily tell the FLA file where to get the new class files from? Could a FLA file be configured to read this sort of information from a configuration file?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Adjust Loading Paths Of Loaded SWFs?

May 28, 2011

I have an SWF called A.swf which dynamically loads other assets from a relative path. However, if I want to load this A.swf into B.swf, for the dynamic loading in A.swf to work properly, A.swf and B.swf have to be in the same path. But I want A.swf to be in another folder, along with its assets.

There are no broken paths - if the loading path was relative from A.swf, all the assets would load correctly, but when I load A.swf into B.swf, all the paths start from B.swf, even if they are requested from A.swf, and that causes problems for me.

The paths that Child.swf reads (for it's external files) are no longer normal and it reads the paths from the Main.swf. (Main.swf is in another folder). Is there a way to lock the paths of the child.swf dynamically from the Main.swf?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading / Calling .swf (relative / Static / Hard-coded Paths)

if someone can shed some light to this matter... i'm pretty new (somewhat) w/ AS let's say, i got an .swf (voets enahnced mp3-player) @ [URL] --which works perfectly at the moment. i then referrenced this .swf in [URL] --which doesn't work prolly because the .swf is calling the XML (i.e. "onlineplaylist.xml") relative to its whereabout, which is /test08. the question is, is there any way around this problem, so that if i put all .SWFs in a certain location (server/directory/what-have-you...), and referrence it from another server &/or directory (like above), it would work?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Add Paths To The Flash Runtime Search Path For Loading Files?

Is there any way I can add "/myDir1/myDir2" to the search path so I can just load using the string "myXML.xml" INSTEAD of loading by the full path "/myDir1/myDir2/myXML.xml"? My directory structure will be changing on a semi-regular basis so I can't hard-code the direct path to the file.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Get Image File Size Prior To Loading?

Oct 16, 2009

I am using the MovieClipLoader class to load a bunch of images, and I am trying to build a loader that has a single percentage for the whole batch of images. I need the.bytesTotalof every image prior to loading them, so that I know the total number of bytes I am working with to calculate the total percent of all images that have been downloaded.

My issue is that it seems to be loading the images in a generally linear way (loads all of the first pic, then starts loading the second pic, etc...) and .bytesTotal is returning as 0 for all pics that have not yet started loading.

Anyone know how I can grab the total bytes of each image prior to the actual download of the image?

Image Processing - Loading .bmp And .tiff File In Flash 10 Using Loader?

Jan 21, 2010

I am developing a Image uploader using Flash 10. I am using Filereference object to browse images and Loader to show the image:

Sample code:

var tempFileRef:FileReference = FileReference(ev.target);
var oLoader:Loader = new Loader();
oLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onImageLoad);
oLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, onIOError);
oLoader.loadBytes(tempFileRef.data);

It works fine with .jpg and .gif files but when I browse .bmp or .tiff file, I am getting the error:

Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type.

Is there a way to load and display browsed .bmp images from desktop?

Javascript :: Passing File Paths From Flash To JavaScript For Upload?

Sep 29, 2010

Is it possible to pass file names from a running Flash application, which only purpose is to enable multiple-file-selection, to a JavaScript application which handles upload of all files to the server?I have examined various Flash upload solutions (like SWFUpload, Uploadify, etc.) and none of them meets my needs. I want an easy to implement solution (like Uploadify) which also lets me specify various parts of the HTTP request.

The reason I need this is because my upload form uses session cookies (for user authentication) and an CSRF token both passed to the server when uploading files.Is it technically possible to pass filenames (+ paths) to a JavaScript application which then handles the upload?

Flash CS4 Loader Class: Image Loads Initially But Error Returned When Loading New Image

Mar 22, 2011

[code]This script is for a loader image gallery in flash, as part of a class assignment. What happens is that in flash, when I open the swf file, the initial image (images/nair_evanescentautumn.png) will load fine. However, clicking on any thumbnail image (including the exact same images/nair_evanescentautumn.png), will result in an error saying the file cannot be found.I cannot figure out why it is doing this... I've tested it over. Clicking each thumbnail does go to the correct position in the two separate functions. All said full-size image links are in the folder images/, and replacing the initial loader image will load the other images in place of the default one. However, clicking on any thumbnail still results in URL not found, even though everything works correctly.[code]Before anyone asks why I'm putting this kind of content into a flash site, I'm not--this is only for a class assignment. I'm just trying to figure out why my images aren't loading right when I'm only doing the exact same thing in the functions as I am on the other pages.Of note, commissions.swf has the exact same feature, just with swf files loaded instead, and it works perfectly fine. home, traditional, digital, and photography all have the image gallery, and all have the same issue (I only referenced one page because if I can fix one page I should be able to fix all of them).As for the artworks, they are all my fiance's. The website design was built for her, and I used the website design for this project because I didn't want to have to build an entirely new interface design. Since the project also required a gallery, I felt that this interface would work just fine.
