ActionScript 1/2 :: Parent Movies And Frame Lables?

I am making a movie with frame lables and parent movies.So there is the maintimeline and a movie on each sucessvive frame, relating all relevant aniamtions/transitions from button to button.
Using this script
on (release) {
_parent.gotoAndPlay("P_CommCent");
}
I have been able to do exaxtly what I want, jump from "P" to "CommCent" essentially, where each is a movie on the main timeline, the "P_CommCent" signifies the specic transtion. So my problem is... that this worked for all movies, now I want to jump from "Green" to "CommCent", using "Green_CommCent" however now it is not working.

I have a scene with buttons that call upon outside movies to be loaded. But when I click a button to go to a new frame, the outside movies on still being seen on top. Right now my button Action is:
on (release) {
gotoAndPlay(16);
}
What should it say to unload all movies then go the 16?

i wanna be able to load both variables from an external .txt file, and a external .swf file at the same time. now the problem is i need the .swf to only open if the movie is at frame 15. here is my current code:

What I would like to do is, once all the fish have been clicked on, and the points all added up, and the stage is empty, is for the movie to go the next frame, where it will display the winner etc. So, how would I tell my movie to go to nextFrame(); once all the movieclip instances have been unloaded.

Is it possible to load in a movie to a specific frame? I am currently loading a movie from a button with:

unloadMovieNum(1);
loadMovienum("Is.swf",0);
}
This works perfect, but I'd like to add usability by directing the button to a specific frame within that new movie. I've tried:
_level0.gotoAndPlay(10);
After loadMovienum in the previous code but it doesn't do anything different. The movie always starts up on frame 1. In the end I'd like to have multiple buttons serving as navigation buttons specifying different frames of the new movie.

[code]All clips are squared.Ok, on the PlayerPlane, there are little soldiers, which have hotkeys. The effect I'm trying to create is I want to position the GameStage so that the currently selected soldier appears in the center of the GameClicker clip.The GameStage is movable by the player (to scan other areas of the map)by holding the CTRL key, so it's easy to kinda lose track of where your players are.I have tried using localTo Global and globalToLocal techniques, but I think I'm lost on the actual math of getting the GameStage to move the correct distance so that the selected soldier is centered to the GameClicker.[code]

I have a movieclip that has everything for my flash program inside of it. Its called Main, sitting on the root timeline. I have some code within Main, and I am trying to get it so that I can gotoAndPlay a frame outside of Main (further down the root timeline than where Main is sitting. How can this be done?

I was just getting used to actionscript 2 now 3 comes along.. I have this segment of code: this.parent.videoOne.gotoAndPlay("playing") it doesn't work in AS3, in the parent I have a movie clip instance called "viedoOne" with a frame labeled "playing". Anything I do that doesn't involve movie clip instance names gets the job done. But what else do I do to make this work when instances are involved?

i know how to make a link to a parent frame in AS3

thats what i use.. works great. But how to I go up two movie clips, becuase the code above only goes up one movie clip. I'm trying to go up two movie clips instead of one now.

I have a parent MC with all my content called GUI_MC, and on my timeline I have a Frame labelled "PAGE"
Within the GUI_MC I have a another MC for my navigation (NAV_MC)
In NAV_MC I have a button which I would like to gotoAndPlay the frame "Page" on the GUI_MC

My swf/exe has two buttons: Song and Story. It's a childrens book with two MP3s embedded.When you click on the buttons it goes to the respective "frame label" and plays the movie clips instantiated on the stage named "storybookSong" and "storybook".What I want to do, is when either the storybookSong or storybook movie clips finish I'd like the movie to return to the first parent frame of the movie, labeled "Home".Here's the code that I've tried.

I have a Scrollpane with a movie clip inside of it and am trying to link to a frame in a parent movie clip and keep getting an error. I am linking it the same way I do any other links. I was using this code.

I work on a truckload of flash banners and have progressed more into dispatching events from the final frame of a MovieClip that would contain an object (or collection of closely related objects) animating and then listening for them from the parent timeline so that I know when to continue the main animation etc.In the animation I'm working on currently, there's a car built from blocks over time (the blocks fall from the top of the banner to make up the car); this is all contained within one MovieClip (to make the resizing easier - all I'll have to do is move the entire MovieClip around).The problem is that when I place this MovieClip onto the timeline, it's represented by its first frame (which is nothing because no blocks have fallen yet). This makes it hard to work with because I can't really tell exactly where the car is going to be when the animation is done and so on.Is there a way to have the final frame of this MovieClip visible from the outer timeline?

How can I refer to parent frame there, so that I can remove its event listener.

I have a flash page where I am loading another .swf into. With a button in the loaded swf I need to unload the loaded swf (where the button is) and navigate to a specific frame label in the parent .swf. I've tried to do the following in the key frame where the swf get loaded into I've put the following:

I basically want to first load the swf called "gallery_wonderland.swf". Then in the "gallery_wonderland.swf" there's a button called "contact03_btn" which I want to unload "gallery_wonderland.swf" even though it's inside the swf and navigate to the frame label called "Contact" in the parent swf.
What can I do I've done similar before and it works, but when I do it know and I click the contact03_btn it comes with following error message:

A movie clip called "Symbol_4" contains all of the navigation and frames of my movie.inside of Symbol_4 is a MC called "bottom scroller" which contains "imgbar" which contains "bar" which has a bunch of buttons in it.I want those buttons to link to different frames in the main "Symbol_4" MC.
I've tried putting code on a button like this

I got a "preloader" that creates an movieclip and loads an SWF. Now in the loaded SWF i want a close button to go back to the "preloader". I have an intro.swf file that is basically a movie with sound that is exported for actionscript but not exported in the first frame. I just stuck it in a movie on my timeline and it works great and the preloader works because it doesn't load the sound before the preloader. I use :
musicSound = new Sound();
musicSound.attachSound("music");
musicSound.start();
to play the sound in intro.swf.
However, now this intro.swf gets loaded into an index.swf and everything works fine and the sound plays as long as I have the sound included in BOTH the intro.swf and the index.swf and the sound is exported on the first frame in the index.swf. I was hoping I could remove the sound entirely from my index.swf since it already loads into the intro but so far

I have been having trouble creating a movie clip with a reverse rollover effect within a movie which has a reverse rollover effect. that sounds confusing
In essence I wish to create a panel that rolls out on rollover and rolls back in reverse when the you rollout. I have done this using this script

However I wish to make movies within this movie that have the same effect on them. But when I create another movie or button within this movie it is not registering on rollover. I guess because the script on the main movie overrides it?

I've got this interactive poem I've been working on for a class. I've basically finished each "episode" seperately. I made a parent document which essentially loads one of the ten child documents onto the respective key frame. Here's a sample of the code for the first key frame of the parent document:

Well Two things are messed up about it, well my "ChildTimeline2" variable will off and on assosciate itslef not with the main time line of a child document, but of a nested symbol inside said child document. Even worse, the "gotoAndStop();" command I will give sometimes applies to Parent document... yaay! but often it will apply to the child document. The end result being this horrible looping moment where you are stuck in one child document for all time.
I wish I could attach the documents but they exceed the 300KB. how I can get Actionscript to listen fro the last frame of the maintimeline of the child document, or tell flash to gotoandStop for the parent document

I had been developing one Flex application , in that users are allowed to upload there own swfs . The problem is, my application has a frame Rate of 11 , if the user tries to upload the swf with higher frame and audio with it( ie Framerate of 24 with AudioFLV ). this makes my application to run at the higher frame rate of that same user uploaded swf.

I'm currently making a platform game and when the player shoots i want to add the bullets to the stage. The players gun class is in charge of adding bullets. The "players gun" is a child of "players gun holder" which is a child of "player" which is a child of the stage. is there a better or more dynamic way for the "players gun" to add bullets to the stage rather than using parent.parent.parent.addChild (bullet);
