View 20 RepliesI have a character, And in its movieclip I`ve got 3 frames (first has an idle pose, second a walking pose and third a running pose), each with a movieclip with an action in it.Well, what I wanted is that when I am walking with this character, and press the SHIFT key he runs.And I`ve got the following code
if (Key.isDown(Key.LEFT))[code]....
But when I click the shift button, he shows the first frame static of the movie clip in frame 3 (running frame).
there is a button on 1st frame. there is a movie clip on frame 2. I named the movie clip as "ball_mc" I want to go to frame 2 when I click on button on 1st frame. I know that the code "gotoAndPlay(2);" on button will work. But for some reasons, i want to try another way.... i tried several codes:
1. this.ball_mc.gotoAndPlay();
2. _level.ball_mc.gotoAndPlay();
3. _global.ball_mc.gotoAndPlay();
4. _root.ball_mc.gotoandPlay();
However these codes dun work. Is there other way to resolve this besides this code "gotoAndPlay(2)"?
I have 5 different buttons for the navigation on my flash website.The first page is on frame one.When you click on any of the 5 buttons I want it to play frames 10 - 15 before moving to which ever frame the button 1-5 corresponds to. So:
Click on button 1 > plays frames 10 - 15 > Goes to frame 20
Click on button 2 > plays frames 10 - 15 > Goes to frame 30
Click on button 3 > plays frames 10 - 15 > Goes to frame 40 etc
How do I make this work?
I have a small flash site made up of a number of pages all on the one timeline.
The query is this. When i release a button i want the timeline to roll on for x frames (fading components out) before going to the frame that button links to (The beginning of the new page).
I have no idea what AS to use for this.
No matter where in the timeline you are, the button should fade out that area and then skip to a new one.
I have a parent MC with all my content called GUI_MC, and on my timeline I have a Frame labelled "PAGE"
Within the GUI_MC I have a another MC for my navigation (NAV_MC)
In NAV_MC I have a button which I would like to gotoAndPlay the frame "Page" on the GUI_MC
Heres my button code:
on (release){
gotoAndPlay("PAGE");}
What do I need to add to make it goto the parent MC?.
A movie clip called "Symbol_4" contains all of the navigation and frames of my movie.inside of Symbol_4 is a MC called "bottom scroller" which contains "imgbar" which contains "bar" which has a bunch of buttons in it.I want those buttons to link to different frames in the main "Symbol_4" MC.
I've tried putting code on a button like this

I've finished a game and now I'm in the process of installing the mochiads preloader. The problem is that all of my exported assets load before the preloader.So I searched around learned that there are a few things that I must do:-Turn off "export on first frame"-Set classes to export on frame 3-Put all of my exported assets in a movieclip on frame 2Now this does shift everything to load on frame 2, except the problem is that all of these assets are now absent from my game for some reason. I get no errors or anything

I put a mcBtn in the end game frame, put this code in the frame:

The object is to go to frame 1 when you press mcBtn. When I click it, Nothing.
What I want to do is compile an .fla with nothing on the stage but several of the movieclips are set to export on first frame in the properties linkage manager. When the .swf runs, I want to loop through and get the names of all the exported assets so I can place them in an array and manipulate them later.
I want to turn the code over to the art team where all they have to do is attach my .as file for the document class. I will not know what they name their movieclips, yet they are instructed to name them alphabetically according to what order they should appear. (My code is a sort of self contained slide show).
So I wondered if there is some way to retrieve a list of all movieclips that are in the library that have been exported in frame 1.

I will use the animation in Connect Pro and without a Start button, the audio starts before the video. Here is the code and following is the error I get in the Compiler when I play the animation. I am also having issues with the logo loading a second time when I click a separate button that takes me back to frame 1 with the code that creates the empty movie clip.

We learned recently about buttonmode etc. and I can go to different Frames on a click.. but here it doesnt seem to go to a new frame it just loads each new clip with the same tiny effect? View 7 RepliesI have a files that is loading and parsing a huge amount of data from a csv file and creating and plotting a graph using the data. All is well if I have the file loaded on the first frame of the movie. But if I pass in the URL by entering the file name in a text input field and clicking a button. The X and Y axis values disappear as do intermittent notes placed above the bar graph. I still see the x and y axis and it's hash marks and the bar graph (shapes) but all of the text is gone.
