ActionScript 3.0 :: Click Button To Play Movieclip And Then Pause On Desired Frame?
Dec 2, 2010
I have a button (bttn1) which when clicked plays a movieclip (bounce), but I would like it to play from frame 1 then stop on a desired frame(say frame 10), so when a second button is clicked (bttn2) it plays from frame 10.
Ive had a search through quite a few forums and message boards but havent quite been able to pin down what I need to do. I'm working in flash cs5 and using AS3
I have a button (bttn1) which when clicked plays a movieclip (bounce), but I would like it to play from frame 1 then stop on a desired frame(say frame 10), so when a second button is clicked (bttn2) it plays from frame 10. Hopefully i've explained it ok...
I have tried to figure out how to get an animation to pause at a desired frame after a click rather than just stopping it at that exact frame or putting a stop action at the desired frame. My goal is to have a movie sequence play continuesly and when a user so desires he/she can click and stop the movie, but rather than stop it while it is in transition at that exact frame, the movie should continue to a point where it is logical for the movie to stop.(example: the movie is at frame 2 when the user clicks, but instead of stopping at frame 2 it continues to frame 10, and then stops) Then on another click the movie will continue through it's sequence as it was before. I would like to use a MC, onClipEvent to handle the script in Flash MX.
I started some days ago with Adobe Flash CS4, and I need to create buttons now. The button I want to create this time should be a frame by frame button, so when the user clicks 1 time on the button the animation needs to go 1 frame further and pause there.
This is what I coded so far: nextframeknop_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextframeClick); function nextframeClick(event:MouseEvent):void{ play(); stop(); } And I assume I need to create some kind of time interval of 1 frame between the "play();" and the "stop();".
i have a swf with a movie clip in it (38 static image frames long)on loading of the swf i would like to play the movieclip, then pause it on the last frame for 1 second then play the frames in reverse then pause it on the first frame for 1 seond and then play the frames in correct order ETC ETC ETC
I have a small flash site made up of a number of pages all on the one timeline.
The query is this. When i release a button i want the timeline to roll on for x frames (fading components out) before going to the frame that button links to (The beginning of the new page).
I have no idea what AS to use for this.
No matter where in the timeline you are, the button should fade out that area and then skip to a new one.
I need to add code to my game. All the levels of the game are in separate frames of a movieclip called 'game'. I need a pause and play button to stop everything going on and then a play button to start it again.
I am building a flash interface and I would like a menu where it is hidden to begin with (just a tab). You click the tab to expand it, and click again to collapse it. I've made a movieclip with animation of the menu opening up and closing, but I can't seem to work out how I'd go about making the movieclip open and close properly.
I have a movieclip within the main clip called "playPause" which starts with the Pause button shown. When clicked the movie clip moves to show the play button and pauses the current parent movie with the AS "_parent.stop();" when the play button is then pressed the movie plays via "_parent.play();" and reverts back to showing the pause button.
Simple so far. What is getting me is if I add a movie clip within the parent (say some scrolling object) I cannot get the added clip to pause. For example say the "parent" movie clip the playPause moveclip is within is called "intro" and the moving object is called "introObject" which is embedded in a frame along with "playPause"
What I have setup for the playPause buttons is for pausing _root.introObject.stop(); and playing _root.introObject.play();
I am trying to load a movieclip and have it be controlled by a play and a pause button. The load works good and the code for the play/pause works.
I need the "test2" file to load the "ball_mc" file and then I should be able to play and pause the ball as it runs across the screen. I think I need it to be a swf file also, but Flashkit won't let me upload that type of file.
So what I have is this: 1 frame with stop(); action and 1 button. To the button I added the action on (release){ gotoAndPlay(2);} so that it plays frame 2. Frame 2 through 6 is a simple motion tween, with the stop action at the end. Yet, when I click the button it takes me to frame 2, but the motion tween doesn't play.
This time I'm experimenting with visibility. All the tutorials online vary a lot. I'm trying to find something noob proof. I have actionscript 2 and 3. I'm not sure which one to use..I'm just trying to learn how to make a frame become visible and Play when I click on a movieclip.
I'm using Flash CS4 with AS3. I'm building a website for a friend the problem I have. When a user clicks on a button I want it to play a movie clip then stop at a specfic frame. I want all the buttons to play the same movieclip but go to a different frame.
The current actionscript I am using is located on frame 1 is: home_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, homebuttonClicked); function homebuttonClicked(event:MouseEvent):void{ gotoAndStop(0) }about_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, aboutbuttonClicked); function aboutbuttonClicked(event:MouseEvent):void { gotoAndStop("aboutme") [Code] .....
This allows me to navigate to the right frame but does not play for obvious reasons, if I use the gotoAndPlay function its carries on playing to the end of the movie.
I put a mcBtn in the end game frame, put this code in the frame: mcBtn.buttonMode = true; mcBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playGame); function playGame(e:Event):void { play:(1); } The object is to go to frame 1 when you press mcBtn. When I click it, Nothing.
I'm looking to have a movie clip pop up, play itself after a user clicks on a flash navigation button.
(something like this???) message_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goMessage1); function goMessage1(evt:MouseEvent):void{ ???(play message movie clip here)???;}
I've got a button that tells a movie clip to play its animation (goto and play frame 2), but I only want it to play that frame if the current frame is frame 1 - meaning that I don't want people to be able to keep clicking the button while the clip is playing and have the clip restart.
I'm guessing it would be something like: If ( current frame is frame 1 ) { goto and play frame 2 } But I can't seem to get it to work.
What I want to do is have one movieclip that has many frames and turn that into a button and then make different instances of the button and have those instances display a certain frame of the underlying movieclip.
What im trying to do is play a movie clip between frames. So say we have two menus, when you are on menu 1 and you click the button for menu 2, a short movie clip plays and then you stop on menu 2. I realise I can do this by putting the movie clip on the main scene timeline, but is there anyway i can put it on the button? I think the action script would be something along the lines of "On release play MovieClip and goto frame X" As i said i want the movie to play as an almost filmic transition between menus, with a fade up and then out (Have got that bit sussed using the alpha controls)
I am new to Flash and was hoping for some help with an actionscript 3 problem. I have imported an FLV onto my timeline and I wanted to pause the first frame for 20 frames before it starts to play.
I am using swfLoader to load external flash movies in my flex/actionscript code. If the loaded swf was made for the newer flash player versions (I believe 9.0 or more) it loads as a flash.display.MovieClip object which has methods for play/pause and go to frame. However if the loaded swf was made for older flash player (I believe 6.0) then it loads as flash.display.av1movie which doesn't have methods for play/pause. Is there a way I can play / pause the av1movie from my flex code.
i started with a Multiple mp3 players project and i more complicated with that - as you see in the picture i try to do that when click on the play button for every song this switch the song that selected -first preloading + percentage the mp3 file and after play it immediately and of course there is stop button, pause button when choose a song the previously that play will be muted
The slideshow on the left is the one I'm talking about, not the Flash video on right.
Anyway, to make it work, I added a whole bunch of frames between the moving images to pause it - to give reader time to see pictures and words - then it goes on to next one. instead of doing it this way, I am wondering if I can just put an action of some kind on a frame to tell it to pause for X number of seconds, then play again?
I finished the Flash Video Basics Tutorials, but I'd like the video not to start playing straight away. I also want it to stop playing when it's finished and not start over again.Is there also an easy way to have the play-button change into pause button, when the video is paused?
I have a movieclip playing and when I click a certain button I want the movieclip to first play an "outro" animation (which is also inside the movieclip) then go to the real target of the button. For example, I am at the Homepage of my website then I click on the Contact button. The homepage will first go to Homepage's outro animation then go to the Contact page. I need the button to recognize the page/clip being played and the page it will go to.
