View 9 Repliescreated the gallery and made thumbnails vertical everything works fine except my tween for the thumbnails. i need help disabling the hit_up and hit_down buttons for the amount of time the tween is going on so someone can't click on the button till the tween is finished.

i put a code in to Flash AS3 to go to another frame when the play button is clicked, and it has worked successfully. But when it goes on to the other frame and i click, the play button comes up and keeps making the game i've made restart. Does anyone know how i can stop the function after it's gone onto the next frame?

What code would I use to make a button, that when you click, it returns you to frame one. Gotoandstop doesn't work.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to basically make an arrow in the middle rotate till it points at the button you rolled over. Each button gives a value for "rot" when you roll over it. 0 degrees is up. I dunno if that's important or not. It's probably always up = 0... heh. Anyway this is the a/s for the "arrow" in the middle. It's instance is arcpoint. Here it is:

I know some of this stuff could probably be shortened but this is how I got it working so far. The problem is the second half of the a/s. The part where it picks a direction clockwise or counter. If it goes clockwise (which I had it working fine at the start) it points at the button fine.But the problem kicks in when it tries to go clounterclockwise. It will always pass the button and point down and flicker back and forth.
Edit: Ok I'm surprised people are even looking at this at 1 am but thats beside the point of this edit. I think it has something to do with the else if statements conditions overlapping so that's what makes it wiggle back and forth. Then again I could be wrong. I'm trying to analyze the conditions but my brain hurts and it's early (or late...).
i used the codes from a game that i got from [URL]... its the hit the warrior game under the category of games (i cant post the link since i only have less than 50 posts >__<) i was able to make some minor tweaks for my project then i added a button with a syntax of gotoAndStop(<frame number>). it goes to a frame which has the same codes from [URL] but it loads a different MC. i have set the MC to load 8 times but instead, it only loads 3 or 4 times then it goes to the previous "game" then keeps on looping. i have also added stop(); inside the MCs that requires to stop. so now im clueless why it keeps on looping.

The only problem is that when I run my movie, it won't accept any keyboard event until I click once anywhere on my movie. Searching these forums yesterday I came across a javascript solution, but this is only when putting the movie on a web page.

there is a button on 1st frame. there is a movie clip on frame 2. I named the movie clip as "ball_mc" I want to go to frame 2 when I click on button on 1st frame. I know that the code "gotoAndPlay(2);" on button will work. But for some reasons, i want to try another way.... i tried several codes:
1. this.ball_mc.gotoAndPlay();
2. _level.ball_mc.gotoAndPlay();
3. _global.ball_mc.gotoAndPlay();
4. _root.ball_mc.gotoandPlay();
However these codes dun work. Is there other way to resolve this besides this code "gotoAndPlay(2)"?
I have 5 different buttons for the navigation on my flash website.The first page is on frame one.When you click on any of the 5 buttons I want it to play frames 10 - 15 before moving to which ever frame the button 1-5 corresponds to. So:
Click on button 1 > plays frames 10 - 15 > Goes to frame 20
Click on button 2 > plays frames 10 - 15 > Goes to frame 30
Click on button 3 > plays frames 10 - 15 > Goes to frame 40 etc
How do I make this work?
I have a small flash site made up of a number of pages all on the one timeline.
The query is this. When i release a button i want the timeline to roll on for x frames (fading components out) before going to the frame that button links to (The beginning of the new page).
I have no idea what AS to use for this.
No matter where in the timeline you are, the button should fade out that area and then skip to a new one.
I've got an intro for a movie,and a single button appears around frame 58,and I've tried giving it a function so it will skip to fram 478 and play the whole movie from there on:
PlayCompl_btn.onRelease = function() {
gotoAndPlay(478);
}
but it keeps saying "statement must appear within handler" and I've got the same problem when the movie reaches frame 477 I want it to go back to frame 58 and play from there so it would loop all until the button is clicked:

gotoAndPlay(58);

I'm guessing that this will require some sort of EventListener but I'm pretty new to AS 3.0 and I'm not sure how to do it. I want to make a button and when I click the button it'll change direction like click and it change direction to right. I click it again and it'll go left again. How do I write the code for that?

Frame 2 through 6 is a simple motion tween, with the stop action at the end. Yet, when I click the button it takes me to frame 2, but the motion tween doesn't play.
