View 2 RepliesI am developing an application where I need to record voice(for those who does not have a webcam so they can use only microphone to record voice) or video(those who have a a webcam - like laptop or external) files and save them on server, thereafter save the file name and logged in users id on database for later access.
I know I need to use some sort of flash app for this. But is there any free one which could server this purpose or even if there are paid ones which could serve this purpose that would be great. I tried google but may be I was not being able to go after the proper term or something, I could not succeed finding a proper solution for this.
What I try to do is make a RSS reader in flash that plays a sound when the RSS feed is changed. In an older version I reloaded the xml via a little timer, but what I understand about this socketthingy is that it keeps an open connection with the server/feed? Am I correct that this socket parses data (or smth) as soon as the xml changes ? If yes, why dont this work ? (it does after loading, but not if the swf is running and the xml is changed)

View 2 RepliesWe are building a live RTMFP voice chat application with Cumulus. While the basic voice transfer works pretty easy using NetStreams, we have one big problem:There does not seem to be a way to manipulate the microphone data that the NetStream sends, and also not a way to manipulate the data the listening NetStream receives before it is played.However, this is exactly what we need. We do not want to transfer the normal microphone recorded audio, but first pitch it, then send it, then play it. Or first send it, then pitch it, then play it. But it seems that the whole audio recording, speex encoding, speex decoding and audio playback is completely encapsuled within the NetStream class.The only ways to achieve what we want (and all of them removing NetStream completely) seem to be:Send raw pitched audio data. That does work, but is of course a lot of data to send and will likely not work fast enough outside of our local LAN testing.
Pitch audio data, convert to ogg/mp3 using existing encoders for flash, send, decode ogg/mp3 and play. But this would mean encoding each and every sample packet that is received from the microphone, adding header stuff, etc. So this would likely not even yield that much of a benefit compared to raw audio data.2.1. This would actually be a good way if there was a Speex encoder/decoder for flash. But ironically, there is none other than the built in one (which is used for encoding/decoding audio in NetStreams) that cannot be explicitly used. ot offering it, Adobe...Send the data to the Cumulus server, pitch (and probably convert) there and send to the recipient. This would likely not even be that much faster than 1. and also throw away the exact benefit of RTMFP, P2P communication.
I'd like to know if it is possible to control an application with one's voice, using AS3. My project is an application that will be use a some kind of remote to control the various systems (domotique) in my house; the apps can be use with the buttons (way1) and the voice (way2). For example, I enter a room, wants to turn the lights on (they have the proper equipment of course). I have two choices, I either press the button for lights on the pad on the wall, or say something like "Lights ON" or whatever.

View 1 Repliesdoing sound recording and playback in flash. I found this code from a tutorial and converted it to a flash document. From my traces, the record functions seem to be called. But when I try to play back the data, it tells me that the byteArray is empty. I've tested and I know that my microphone is working.
When I trace the size of the ByteArray, it returns 0;
So why does no data get recorded into the ByteArray?

The flow player will play the audio of a *.flv, but doesn't play the video and I've no idea why. The initial example page using the default flowplayer flv url works fine. When I change the url to my godaddy site, it doesn't work. I'm using Movavi Video Suite 8 to perform the conversion to flash from mp4. I think the metadata is included in the flash file when it converts, but I'm not certain. I used the meta data injector found here: [URL] to inject meta data into the flash files and it still did not work.
Also of note is that the player's progress bar shows the start, current, & end time values of the video, so I think the metadata is there. I've still no clue why this isn't working, though.
I wonder if it's my *.flv file as the player will load the mp4 file it was generated from. I used a premium application called MOVAVI Video Suite to perform the conversion. I don't think this is the case because I can upload the converted *.flv file to youtube and it plays fine.
Also worth noting is that the Flow Player plays audio and not video both when the flv source is pointed to my godaddy site as well as when its pointed to a local folder on my hard drive that contains the player, it's files, the video files, and the example .html page being used to test this.
Possibly something else worth mentioning is that I have not put the flow player files on my godaddy site yet because the video picture isn't showing locally.I have the same issue with the LongTailVideo player.

i have an one input text box, first i type text into it and press space bar at this it will become empty and ready to accept next input from starting position, i make the text box empty by
