ActionScript 1/2 :: Nest Futher Statements With In That Initial Statement?

Dec 27, 2009

I have a if statement that first checks to see if the enter key is pressed. Although i cant figure out how to to nest futher statements with in that initial statement. At the moment I'm checking for an enter keypress like so:if (Key.isDown(Key.ENTER))I suppose immediately after i want the script to see if a a textboxes variable is empty or not.IF its empty run x code.IF it has content run y code.Seems straight forward enough but i cant seem to figure out how to nest them under the first Enter key IF check.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Nest Switch Statements Over Each Other?

Feb 1, 2009

I have been seriously investigating on using switch statements in this case to solve my problems, which I seem to see output showing up in clickHandler3 executed properly. However, I don't think scenario_save() has been doing anything, since I could not see the Alert.show statement been disclosed in the switch(pop2), and neither is any of the lines been written like I expected, but I do see the Alert.show in the switch(x) by executing the Alert. I have marked the sections using comments, and I wonder if I am allowed to use nested switch statements over another in Actionscript.

Paused Statement & Button Statements

May 5, 2009

How do you script a Pause of X Seconds on X Frame and also on that frame have a button release statement that can take you forwards or take you backwards, elsewhere in the timeline - Without affecting the 'Pause' statement... therefore not mucking up the timeline and causing it to jump around at the end when all catches up?I take it once a pause has taken place - a button that can take you elsewhere, if clicked on - does not Cancel the initial pause and therefore lies my problem?

Flash :: Nest Folders In Builder Bin-debug?

May 12, 2010

I'm trying to setup my bin-debug folder so that the structure looks like this[code]...

I've tried setting the project's output folder to: bin-debug/assets/swf which does get my main.swf where I want it, but then my other source folders get dumped into that swf folder as well. What I would really like is to tell Flash Builder to put my swf into a nested folder and to be able to specify where my build folders' output goes as well. Is this at all possible without resorting to ANT scripts?

ActionScript 2.0 :: If Statements Within If Statements?

Oct 7, 2004

If they get a question wrong in my quiz ( weakest link) the money clip goes to zero and it goes onto the next question. If they get it right the money clip advances and they go onto the next question. I want to include each time that it should only go onto the next question if all questions have been asked. SO i want an extra if clause in both sections, saying if current question is more than 11 go to '#game over"The questions are saved in the frame of the quiz

_root.qArray = new Array("question: A;B;C;D")
_root.qArray.push("Question?:A;B; C; D")

There are 11 questions.At the moment at the section with choosing answers I have

function selectAnswer(n) {
// correct
if (answers[n] == correctAnswer) {
_root.money.nextFrame();

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading Data From XMl File And Uses It To Run An If Statement. If Statement Fails?

Oct 10, 2008

The Flash movie contains 2 Text files, one Component button, and 1 component checkbox.The purpose of the application is to load an XML file(works)Populate 2 text fields with information from the XML file(works)Compare the two text fields, if they contain the same information then the checkbox, via AS is told to be selected. (Heres the problem);

Heres the code:

Code:
runCode_btn.onPress = function() {
data_xml = new XML();
data_xml.ignoreWhite = true;
data_xml.onLoad = function(success) {

[code]....

The idea behind this app is that its an electronic form. The user fills it out, the information is then sent to a newly created XML file, months later the open the XML file in flash, and Flash fills out text fields and check and or unchecks Checkboxes based on the XML data.CheckBoxes are mandatory.But I don't see how I'll be able to use them if i can't create and condition statements based on the loaded Data.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Use A For Statement To Create An If Statement

Jul 12, 2010

what I'm trying to do is create an else if argument for each object in an array based on a user set number

Code:
for(var i:int=0; i < numberOfElseIfs; i++){
GENERATE AS3 CODE
}

to which I want it to GENERATE THE FOLLOWING CODE:

Code:
}else if(baskets[i].used == false){
baskets[i].used = true;
drawButton(i);
}

the problem is obviously that the compiler reads this code rather than understanding I'm trying to regenerate the code within the for loop...does that make sense :S? So basically I need as3 to read the code between the for statement as if it is going to echo that out later. Is this even possible?

Initial Appearance Of FLVPlayback?

May 29, 2009

I'm using FLVPlayback to display a flv in a swf embedded in html. Autoplay = false, wmode = transparent / windowless. I've got it working (not yet set up the way I'd like, but that's another issue), but the way the flv displays when the page loads is a problem. The controls skin is clearly visible, but the movie frame displays as a white box on a white page, barely visible except for a faint outline.

I guess the white screen simply represents the first frame of the flv. Ideally I'd like to see either a black box or the first frame with meaningful content. Is there any way (say with ActionScript) to advance and stop the flv to a particular frame? Or is there some other way to not see a white box here?

See attached screen grab detail. If it helps, here's my html.

buttons[i].addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, myFunction);

I would like to add a code that would add an initial call to the function myFunction, but because it is listening for a MouseEvent, it has to wait until a MouseEvent happens (CLICK)

I thought that I could add a parameter to a function call like this:

Code:
myFunction(e:Event, buttons[0]);
but that did not work.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Add To Stage Only Once Initial Changes To Properties Are Done?

Javascript :: Animation With Initial Velocity?

Apr 1, 2010

I've been trying to solve this problem for a number of days now but I must be missing something.

Known Variables:
vi = Initial Velocity
t = Animation Duration
d = Distance.
end velocity should always be zero

The function I'm trying to create: D(0...t) = the current distance for a given time

Using this information I want to be able to create a smooth animation curve with varying velocity (ease-in/ease-out).

The animation must be able ease-in from an initial velocity.

The animation must be exactly t seconds and must be travel exactly d units.

The curve should lean towards the average velocity with acceleration occurring at the beginning and the end portions of the curve.

I'm open to extra configuration variables.

The best I've been able to come up with is something that doesn't factor in the initial velocity.

ActionScript 1/2 :: Change Initial Row Displayed In List Box?

This is in AS2 and should really be quite simple. I have a populated list box control that may or may not have an item selected.  When the user enters some data in one of the data fields on the screen and then moves to another field,  a database access is performed which returns some data which is used to populate other fields on the screen.

As part of this the item in the list box is selected based upon a code returned from the database.  All so well and good. However,  I cannot get the list box to move it's 'display window'  to the position of the selected item.  Ie  I want the selected item to become the first item displayed in the list box.  (Note: NOT the first item of the list box...
