ActionScript 2.0 :: Adding Crossfade To Rhamej's Gallery

I've been trying to combine Rhamej's wonderful XML gallery with Scotty's Crossfading gallery. I understand both of them separately and have modified both of them for fun, but they use such different functions that I'm having a hard time melding them together.
I'm trying to combine rhame's xml gallery with stringy's thumbnail bonus code.In short when i click a thumb excpet from the large main image i want to get buttons 1 2 3 4 for bonus images.Ok i managed to get the bonus from the first image to display.But when i click the next thumb bonus disappear and even on the first image are not showing anymore. I have temporarily disabled the mask so i can see whats going on. I believe it has to do something with the bonusarray[i] it doesnt seem to listen after the first ones. I mean the mask is scaling and working.here is the actionscript and in red the script i think its the problem:
I have an XML image gallery that works great, but I'm not satisfied with how the images transition. I'd like the old image to fade out while the new one is fading in whenever the viewer hits the previous or next button, so that way there's no blank background space between the transitions while the new image is being loaded. Ok so I have this XML gallery working perfectly, but I want to add a preloader to it. I have the loader and child all in one package, and that package is called via back and forward buttons according to if/else statements that ensure that the xml gallery does not get confused. I figure ok, so it's simple, I just add the preloader into the package using if/else statement, but I can't seem to get it to interact with the imageLoader I have set up in this package. As it stands right now I get no compile errors, but I do get an output error at runtime stating that packagedF and xmlLoadedF are now null object references. Take a look and see if you can figure out what I'm doing wrong:

I'm trying to add the flashmo 3D curve gallery to website website. I changed all the images, but when I added it to Dreamweaver and test the file all I see is the background. Here's the link to the download [URL].
I'm trying to modify Scotty's fantastic resizable XML gallery to add links to it. I've read through similar posts on this forum and I'm confused on a couple of issues. Firstly, the xml file provided, which I am using, places all fields in "" marks, whilst all examples given on this forum don't seem to do so.Perhaps more importantly, when i try, as recommended on similar posts, to place the link within CDATA tags the gallery stops showing any thumbnails, pictures or anything! I am confused. My XML file is as below, after editing the first image data to try and accomodate the link:[code]
I was adding the thumbnail gallery to my website, but the rollover to scroll through the thumbnails must is offset somewhere. I would like to just add left and right buttons to scroll if possible.http:[url]......
Ive got an AS3 XML gallery thats all working fine, but I would like to add links to each image. Ideally I need to be able to add fully qualified links to each image individually via the XML document. my actionscript looks like this:

I am playing with the xml photo gallery tutorial and wanted to add the ability for users to click on a particular image and have it go to its own url.
This is what I have done so far:
in images.xml I have added a <link> child on the same node or level as <image> and <caption>
images.xml i.e.
Code: <images> <pic> <image>image1.jpg</image>

It obviously does not work (the rest of the gallery does though) I created a dynamic movie clip and labeled it "link" and placed it on the stage as a bg element however I am pretty sure this is the wrong way to hyperlink the images and description.
I used this code, from "Creating Websites for Dummies" to create a video playlist. The only problem is that it (the book) doesnt show how to load descriptions for the video thumbnails (saying the title etc...of the video). I cant work out how to attach a dynamic text field to each thumbnail that reads its description from an xml file, can anyone give me some pointers or explain how this is done? I've been stuck on this for a few days now and i cant work it out..
in the code below 'main' refers to an attribute in teh xml file.

I have just finished the Kirupa Tutorial "Photo Slideshow Using XML and Flash".I would like to simply add a button that takes you directly to one of the images in the slideshow.I will have 200+ images in the slideshow and with the project i am working on i need the ability to have an action to place on a button that takes you directly to say, image 47 in the xml.
I have a very nice picture gallery made in CS3 / AS3. I managed to personalize it and all. But, I have difficulty with (or no clue... actually), how to add a precious and next button to it(image).

I have looked up the tutorials on tween class etc. but can't figure out if I can crossfade images using nextFrame. I have a dozen images placed in their own frames and a button using nextFrame (and prevFrame) to navigate between them. How would I crossfade these images smoothly?
I have 2 movieClips that I want to fade.mc 1 fades out while mc2 fades in. I want to do it in AS to keep my file size down, 'cause I will be having quite a few of this happing.I know how to have one mc fade in using:(I know this is a fade in and I can fadein/out individually)

I have made a photogallery in actionscript 3 which uses an .XML file to import pictures. As the user clicks on the displayed image the code loads the next image in the cycle into the display. Now, I would like to add a preloader which displays the loading progress of each image as the user clicks (otherwise there is just a blank area as the image loads). I have made a pre-loader for the main .SWF but I can't figure out how to make it work for the images or how to make a seperate one for the images. The fact is that I am a bit of a muppet when it comes to AS3, and am finding myself getting lost an confused quite easily.

I've got a little test swf showing what I've made so far: [URL] What I'm wondering is how to add a play and stop button to this, I've set it up as separate scenes for each image, but my concerns are when there are maybe 20 or so images to flick through, some users may prefer to just click play, as is common and let it do it automatically...(but I don't want it to load playing) I'm not sure how you'd go about producing a script that starts playing on press of the play button from whatever scene you're on
I've got a photo gallery that I'm working on it loads its content from an xml file... I would like to be able to display and play flv videos as well but I'm unsure what changes I will have to make. If I only change the xml I get the error " Loaded file is an unknown type."
I've found this tutorial that I've played around with and it works out fine [URL], but I would like to add some descriptive text for the big image. How would I go about loading such a text from the xml file?

I made a xml gallery using kirupa's xml gallery tutorial and then i added thumbnails.It all works fine.Although i managed to have the jpg's loaded fullscreen i dont know how to use smoothing for the resize of the movieclip container. I have a code that resizes the movieclip to the dimensions of the stage onresize function.I'm trying to put in the code an attachBitmap function so i can have it with smoothing to true. But i haven't managed how yet.[code]
I have a thumbnail gallery that gets its images from an xml file, at the moment if there are more than 8 thumbs they go off the page to the right, I'd like to have it so they continue to load in rows and columns but I'm not sure how I'd do this? I limited the images in the xml to 8 and duplicated the mc and xml to get the look, but it needs to really be updatable from the one xml file. Heres the Actionscript-
I was reading your tutorial on adding a thumbnail to an image gallery. Im trying to use your thumbnail_final.fla inside another movie and is not working for me. I made a movie, in Scene 1 of this movie i have an empty movie clip(DisplayArea) and a menu button(Gallery) so that when i hit the Gallery button it load the thumbnail)final movie into the empty movie clip DisplayArea. Everything work except for the thumbNailScroller function. It load all the thumbnails and you can click them and they load the matching big picture and all but the scrolling function is not working.
I was wondering how I could add sound to a gallery that is driven by xml.I have a gallery that loads the picture, Title and description. the gallery is downloadable here.The regular gallery loads a web page when the picture is clicked. I am trying to make each picture load a different mp3.I have the general Idea of how it would be done but I don't know how put it to actionscript.I figured you would basically create a sound object that loads the specific mp3 from the xml file when the picture is clicked from the gallery.I think I might have some what of the idea right but I get an error everytime I load the swf file.

I've been working with Scotty's XML Crossfade (attachment link on bottom) and I'm trying to publish it in Flash 8...his version is in MX.I'm wondering (Scotty, if you know this, chime in!) if anyone knows really WHY I get an error message saying it can't find an undefined item in the folder I have the files in...yet the slideshow still works (with exception to the preloader).url...
I'm creating a flash portfolio which contains a 3D panel as a gallery which works relatively well right now. I wanted to put a preload so I put my preload code on the first frame and order to gotoandPlay(2) the second frame which works to but when the loading is done my 3D panel is totally ignored, the panel works with a class of course. Actually the problem seems to be more with the frame skip because I put my preload code in commentary and just having a frame before screws up my panel.
I am using a local computer and will only be running the flash app on locals. I want users to have access to a gallery which I built with xml and to be able to add to the gallery. I thought I could do it with an append child to the xml but flash cant write to file. I was going to use filereference and then save the file in the flash folder and add the new object to the xml file, but this is the wrong route.
I am new to flashCS4 and done 2 of lee's tutorial's and have 2 questions. 1) how/where do I add a preloader to file when each vid is clicked on ? 2) how do I set a mc to be seen as a button in browser when you mouse over it ? VideoGallery: [URL]
