ActionScript 2.0 :: CS3 .flv Playback Stops After 2 Seconds On Server?
May 21, 2009
I'm working on a rotating carousel type menu. It has images that rotate around, and when you click on an image, a .flv file plays, then when it's done, it goes back to the menu. It loads the data from an .xml file so it's all dynamically created.
This is all fine and works... locally.
When I upload it to the server, everything seems fine until I click on one of the icons. The .flv plays for 2 seconds, then goes back to the menu. Other flv files on the internet play fine, so it's not my flash player. I tried hard-coding in a video to play, and it has the same problem, it plays the first 2 seconds, then freezes.
Code:
var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
nc.connect(null);
var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
[Code]....
I have the program set to go back to the menu when the status of the .flv is: NetStream.Play.Stop
I traced out the status of the video when playing locally, the status goes normally (gets to Netstream.play.stop after the video is done), but when played online, it gets to netstream.play.stop after 2 seconds, then prints that out like 50 times.
1) I want a 60 seconds video to start playing after 40 seconds have been downloaded - to do that I set the NetStream.bufferTime to 40 seconds and retrieve "NetStream.Buffer.Full" event causing the video to really start playing. This step is OK.
2) However, the "NetStream.Buffer.Full" causes data to stop downloading. So the remainder of the video begins to download no sooner than after the 40 seconds have been played. This step is my issue. Can anyone tell me how to avoid this unintended effect? (i.e. playing a video and downloading data at the same time?)
TIMELINE: 3 layers, -- Layer 1, flv video - converted to a Movie Clip. Layer 2, is my button. Layer 3, is my action script. My flv video file was imported and converted to a Movie Clip. My button was created using polygon tool and was converted to a button - and both have instance names.
/////////////////////// MY AS CODE:
lpsample001.stop();
function playMovie(event:MouseEvent):void { lpsample001.play();[code]............
PROBLEM: Everything functions great, but my flv video file just stops playing at random points, it doesn't even finish playing, and then, when I click my button a second time, it re-starts playing right where it randomly stopped. Why does it randomly stop playing at various points on the timeline?
I'm having a problem playing an flv. When the page loads sometimes it will just sit there and not do anything, then if i refresh, it'll play fine. Or it might play for a few seconds the first time, and then stop, and then if I refresh, it'll play fine. Has anyone run into this? Here is my code.
Code: var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection(); nc.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, etStatusHandler);
I have a flash app that I have been working on for 5 months or so, it relies heavily on Flash remoting with numerous custom classes each making service calls via AMF.I have been developing this app in CS4 on Windows and never had any trouble, it works great.I just got CS4 for my Mac and installed it and copied over the flash files for this app so I can continue working on it on the mac instead of the PC, but on the Mac the app stops working after a few seconds, particularly after doing a few commands that issue flash remoting calls.Even stranger is it will not return to working condition again until I close all of the files involved with the project( the .fla and all .as files involved) and then reload them,if I keep trying to test run the movie from the flash editor it hangs at the first flash remoting call and never returns any error message or any indication that its trying to connect, on the server end my logs show no requests are going to gateway.php.So basically to continue working on the mac I'd have to keep closing down the files every few mins and reloading them.
We have an issue were the server session associated with a Flex client times out when the browse file dialog is open for a time longer then the configured session timeout. It seems that on some players, the playback is stopped when browse or download on a FileReference is executing. This also causes remote calls to be blocked and hence our manual keep-alive messages are not sent to the server, resulting in a session timeout. I searched for some info on this in the docs and found a notice of it, but it does not explicitly list the players it does (not) work. Would anyone know were I could find a complete list?
i have a soung loop that i want to "loop" in my movie. this is my script: mySound = new Sound(); mySound.loadSound("loops/music.mp3",true); the problem is that it only plays once (5 seconds long) and then stops, how do i get it to loop? - short of placing it on the timeline.
when I use the following function in my doc class to launch a local video, the video "freezes" after a few seconds. This happens no matter what video I am trying to play.
Code: private function startVideo(e:MouseEvent):void {
I've got a horizontal bar on the screen following the mouse vertical motion. I would like for it to be transparent until the mouse moves, and then fade in to be 100% on mouse movement. When the mouse stops moving, I would like it to fade back to be 0% transparent after a couple of seconds. This what I have for the mouse follow on the bar MC...
I'm trying to accurately determine how many seconds of a video (NetStream) have been loaded so I can scrub/seek correctly. First I tried doing duration*(ns.bytesLoaded/ns.bytesTotal) but this is inaccurate by maybe 15%, ie if that calculation says 20 seconds is loaded and I scrub to 20 seconds ns.time will tell me it can't go past 17 seconds.
I think this is because the size of the file loaded doesn't map perfectly to the number of seconds loaded (obviously), ie as the video loads, some of the bytes loaded aren't the actual video but are overhead of the container/file the video is in. So to load 1% of video you have to actually load 1.15% of the file's size.
I'm making music visualization in papervision3d using FlashDevelop. The script generates 150 cubes each acting as different tone (from basses with red colors to high notes with blue).The song starts, everything works fine, but after 44 seconds song stops. I hadn't wrote function that would do that. I've turned off every useless visual functions and even papervision3d rendering. The scene is just black and the song still stops playing after 44 seconds.File is included with:
Code: [Embed(source = "../assets/8bp069-05-she-session.mp3")] because I'm not writing it in flash.
I've tried different song and it stops after 1:10...Flash uses ~30MB of Ram and 50% of my Athlonx2 64 2.6Ghz in action.
Here's some code: sound
Code: [Embed(source = "../assets/8bp069-03-she-pioneer.mp3")] private var Music:Class; private var sp:Sound = new Music();[code].........
those last 3 functions have nothing to do with playback.Am I doing something wrong with computeSpectrum function? Here's the scrieennie of it in action: Of course it's like an alpha version of what I'm planning to do.
I have a very straight forward piece I'm working on that involves copy fading in and out but, instead of using the time-line for timings I'd like to use some script. It's just copy fades in (hold for three seconds) then fades out (hold for one second) copy fades in (hold for three seconds) etc.
My rtmp client connects to the server ok and rtmp data flowing ok for about 4hours, in the wireshark trace I can see that the server just stops sending data roughly after 4hours. The server version is 3.5.1, and I also try it on a 4.0 server the data stops coming from the server as well after 5+hours. There are no errors or any indication of session disconneciton in the diagnostic logs. I have also looked thru the settings in applicaiton.xml and server.xml I just don't see any obviious reason for the issue. I do send rtmp Acknowledgement to server after the client receives "window size" bytes, and the client sends ping response to server.
I'm using the server Stream.play() method to playback a recorded stream, it plays back fine until it hits the buffer limit (Say I set the buffer to 5 seconds, it will playback fine for 5 seconds). But then it freezes and playback is very stuttery (1 frame every 2/3 seconds). Is this a know issue? I'm using windows 2008 server. I've tried a few things to resolve this but no luck. The server is running the dev license and has no load.
I am converting from .FLV's to .F4V. Video outputs fine but the audio sound stops after a few seconds from the beginning.I have tried many different settings for the audio with no luck. Also, tried on a colleague's machine who is running CS3, which works fine, so something is buggy in CS4...
I try to switch or change a server-side stream, it starts lagging after 2 seconds of playing and sound disappears. Here are scenarios that result in that terrible lag:
1. I create server-side playlist with stream.play() with reset=false; when it is time to play the next movie in the playlist, it starts lagging after 2 seconds.
2. The same problems appears when I just switch streams. I installed FMF Feature Explorer and tried to launch SwitchStreams sample application: the same problem - server stream starts lagging after I switch streams with stream.play().
I tried on different servers (local and remote), with different players (debug player of FMS Admin Console, Standard Flash videoplayer component, OSMF player, Flex video player). I also tried all possible flv, f4v and mp4 file compression options for video files - still the same problem. I have also tried literally thousands of Application.xml settings: changing buffer, buffer ration etc. Is there any tip where I should search for a solution?
We have one application in which we are using flash media server 2.0.5. We dont know why it's stop taking connection occasionally at that time we can't enter into the managment console. We get a white screen. When we try to enter user name and password it's does not accpet the credentials. We are not getting anything in the log.Port number 1935 and 1111 of the particular system where FMS has placed are working fine.
I configure my server to republish all streams from live to multicast using this tutorial.When the streamer connects to the server and starts publishing something to "live" the server automatically restreams it to multicast. But after a while p2p stream suddenly freezes. The main stream continues to work. In the server logs nothing interesting, just onUnpublishing
We are testing IP Multicast, with Flahs media player 4.0. We set up the encoder and generated the manifest file. Multicast start, but we see lot of bufferring and video running fast. After about 2 minutes, the encode stops publishing to the server. We are using digital rapids as the encoder.
In my current flash application I and my co-workers are using Loader to load some SWFs from our server. It works perfectly while we have the flash application on our computers running it trough Adobe Flash CS3 but when we publish it and move the html page to our server and try and run it from there the loading doesn't seem to start. I have the firebug plugin for Firefox so I checked if flash actually loaded the images and according to firebugs network monitor it found all needed resources and downloaded them successfully. But the behaviour of our application is as if the loading starts but the complete event is never sent.
I've implemented a serverside script that records the current stream to disk. This record method is called from another clientside flash application. On some occasions the recording suddenly stops after a few hours without giving any errors, and without there being any network dropouts (Flash Media Encoder doesn't report any dropouts). What can be the cause of this, and what can I do to make the recording more stable?
Our team is developing an application that allows users to communicate via their own camera, and make a record of all user's cameras that are in the same room. However we have come across an issue with our FMS 4 server. The issue is that sometimes when a user records all streams in a room at one point the recording process for particular streams suddenly stops but at the same time streaming is still working. For example, 2 users were broadcasting and one of them was recording their streams. At the end of the recording there were 2 flv files, however one of them was only a quarter of the actual length. The logs for the damaged stream were:
- publish stream at 10:48:38 - play stream at 10:48:38 - record stream at 10:48:44 - unpublish stream at10:53:11 - stop stream at 10:53:12
Total length of the flv file should be more than 4 min but actually it is only 1 min 12 sec.
