I am creating an image gallery and the images change but change right back to the original image. I had it working yesterday but today it doesn't work.
i have my nave bar as my main swf then i load each page as an external swf in a mc container. each button should be marked when you navigate to the respective page. how would i load a current pages icon over the generic one when i navigate to that page then unload it when i navigate to another page?
im messing with a movieclip symbol and i want to make a button, what'd i mean on Mouse over display/change this image in this X,Y cords or replace this image, something close to what buttonSymbol does but i want to make it using movieClip symbol... and i have no idea how to do it.. i started like this:
I am am not a developer but have bought a template which I am modifying to suit my needs. I have made most of the modifications but and stuck on how to change the animation for the image gallery. When I move from one picture to the next the animation effect is something like a bubble burst. This is too flamboyant for me. I would like to change it to something more sleek but have no clue where to start.
I have this code which allows me to replace the mouse cursor with an image but i would also like to change the image when the mouse is clicked down using a different image. the code i am using for just replacing the mouse cursor is[code]...

I am making a new flash website and i stack on the as3 part.My site have a menu like all the site do.Now on the site load there is a background picture.When you press one of the menu buttons, the background image will change to this button specified image.But all that in an animation of fade in and out.My problem that i have everything but i cant know which image was before it changes to the buttons specified one. I have a background image in a movie which I would like to "replace" I remember I used to be able to replace images, but I cannot remember how to do it. I am using CS3. Is there a window which lists all the images?
I am making a website (even tough i don't know much about editing and stuff yet) and i'm trying to use this Template.. there are tabs on the site with option etc, and i am having trouble editing 1 tab at a time .. everytime i change something in 1 tab, it automatically changes all the others as well .. i don't know why .. there is a green 'glowing' light green retangle around all the tabs.[code]...
Currently, it opens to the first image in the set. I think it would be better if it opened to the first page of the thumbnail browser instead, to let people that are clicking on it know that there are more images in the set than just the one. Otherwise, they would have to know to click on the little "additional guides" icon in the lower right corner.
New to this forum, and I don't know if the question belong here or in the newbie forum. I am new to AS and not very experienced in flash. I have made simple apps without AS. Like fx. this slideshow. I put one image on each fram and just loops thought them. I reckon this kan be done in only one frame and some AS.
My idea is to put all the names of the imported images in an array and just loop through that. But what is the code for loading an imported image when clicking on a button and how do I loop through the array?
I am trying to build a script that will allow a user who visits a website to change the color of a house.
For an example, when a user visits the site they are able to view a picture of a house with a default color of white. When the click on a button "Roof" the user is able to pick from a select number of roof color options.
Same goes for siding, and trim.
I am hoping with a web presense in this economy, maybe it will turn things around.
What I have seen,
I have seen some sites use shape overlays.
So they take an image, and (I am not sure if it is in Flash or Photoshop) they make a cut out of the roof, then they make 10 copies of it in different colors. For some places I have seen them descibe it at frames for each color. Yet I am not sure how you call upon it on click?
Anyways I am very lost and need a mentor.
Here is an example of what I am trying to do, but with a house:
I've found a really basic gallery and I'm modifying it. It did show a bar with thumbs on top of the stage with no full image shown at first. Clicking on a thumb, with a tween, the thumbs' bar disappear and the full image appears, clicking on the full image the gallery come back to the original situation. I've modified the gallery and now it shows the bar on the bottom, a full image is shown as the gallery appears and when I click on a thumb the bar stays at its place, in addition the shown image disappears to leave the place to the new one.
I want to add a tween when the full image changes, a fade out on the old image and a fade in on the new one, but I can't understand where and how to modify the code. I post a link to the gallery files, the one to modify is createThumb.as [URL]
is there an easy way in flash as3 to change the movieclip image? how do i go about this? can i control wat image from its frames are shown? gotoandplay() ? and how do the stop it at that frame>
I actually try to do the following: I have loaded an external image in a bitmapdata object and create a bitmap from it which i attach it to a sprite/MovieClip in order to have mouse events on it. Now under the previous logic i loaded two images (let's say circles) of the same size one that has a particular color and is covered by its black foreground circle. When i press left mouse button and hold it down i want while the mouse is moved to erase the foreground circle's pixels and so the background image starting to appear.[code]...
I'm trying to change an image color in flex 3, but I can't get it still. I think have to change the image color by using pixels, but I don't know how to do it.
How do I set the image size of an externally loaded image? The external image is 80x80, but when I load the image into my scrollBar I need it to be 1/2 that size. I tried setting the loader width and height but that make the image disappear completely. I suppose I am missing something fundamental?[code]...
