I have an mc calling in data from XML, but I would like to have the whole thing move across the screen like in a slide show. And then I would like to add buttons that for each image allowing me to click and go to that image.[code]
im currently making an "AS3 beat em up" ala streets of rage or double dragon.Currently i have my character moving and a few animations done and i am trying to figure out how to make attacks work.I have some "basic" animation for his attack, but im not sure how to get it to work correctley.What happens is, if you press control (the attack button) whilst the character is walking he just keeps moving and is stopped on the attack frame.I want the character to stop moving if the attack is pressed and once it is released start moving again.
hero.gotoAndStop('still'); var left:Boolean = false; var right:Boolean = false;[code].......
what i have is a tween on a movie clip of a popcorn kernel on one layer and a tween on a button on another layer to follow the movie clip. i want to be able to roll over the kernel and make it "pop". i changed my over on the button to popped corn (this works) but i want it to stay popped for the rest of the tween.
I have some simple script that has 2 "movie clips". What I want to do is to start moving the second movie clip at the same time when the 1st starts moving. (both start moving at the same time) I tried the following script but it never works:
I have created a Flash application running in a browser (Firefox 3 on Windows XP). When I move this application from foreground to background and (after some time) viceversa, I notice a considerable slowdown, i.e. for about thirty seconds the application becomes unusable.
My swf is very small (~200 KB), but this swf creates *many* buttons and *many* other graphical widget (with statical images), so the RAM occupied is considerable (~150 MB).
I initially assumed that was caused by the swap mechanism of the operating system or of the browser. This was *not* true, and it was confirmed by the fact that, by default, Mozilla Firefox prevent Windows from swapping out memory when the program is minimized (see config.trim_on_minimize option). Nothing has changed even disabling the paging system of Windows.[code]...
I am having trouble transforming pure as3 projects written in flash into Flash builder projects.
I have a series of simple tutorials covering basic elements of actionscript 3. These were written in flash using the document class.
I would now like to switch over from using Flash to using Flash Builder.
Is there any way to import each of these working as3 files into new FB projects?
When I try to import using either "import > other > existing projects" or "import > Flash Builder Project" or "import > General > File system" I am not able to complete my import because (obviously) I am not importing a valid Eclipse project.
Is there no way to load a directory of AS3 into FB, set one of the classes as the "default application" and have FB build a new project around it?
I could create a new project in FB and then move the assets in manually, but I have over a hundred of these! It would be nice to be able to move from one environment to the other without difficulty.
Basically I just want a really simple image where the eyes follow the mouse and blink occasionally (not an animated/tweened blink even... just a 3 frame animation). I have managed to create both independently, but I am having alot of trouble making them work at the same time. My code is pretty much copy/pasted from different tutorials. I know why its not working, but I cant wrap my head around fixing it. (eyes following mouse needs actionscript to loop whereas the blinking needs a stop action).
and then putting in values? Coz i need it for buttons, and diagonal popping doesnt work. So i was wondering if i could just put it on keyframes, and then select bounce or elastic.
I came across a problem where my flash timer keeps changing position as the browser window is resized or if the user scrolls down the page the timer will move with it?It also changes position on different monitor screens.Is there an easy way without too much code to position it at a certain position on my page :[URL]As you can see its too low and should be in line with 'Comming soon'Im also using Dreamweaver if that makes a difference.
Arrows moving on some path (to be determined by a function). Let's this path to be circle. I want several arrows (number of arrows must be determined dynamically so that arrows cover whole circle) to move on the circle and their speed to be controllable (all arrows will have same speed). But my knowledge in Flash is very-very little (I'm familiar with Java/C++ and other Computer Science stuffs, so you can give your advices accordingly). What I was able to achieve after 3 days of effort: Just one arrow moving along the circle. I've tried every possiblity (I saw), but still no success.
i have a one web link have a flash display, below the flash display some scrolling picture, when we click the image that image goes up, as well as left and right have forward & backward button, how can i do this type of flash file,
I have a 2d plane rotated on its x axis, with 2d display objects I want to move around on the plane. Its pretty similar to a chess board [URL]..
The board is a rotated rectangle, and the pieces are just 2d display objects. Whats the easiest way to manipulate those objects so they appear to be moving on the board?
I have this class named MovingObject which extends the MovieClip class. This class will be instantianted for several times. Inside this class is a Timer that handles the speed of the objects moving. There is another class called TheStage and this is where I will instantiate MovingObject (s).
public class MovingObject extends MovieClip{ public var tmr:Timer = new Timer(1); public function MovingObject(){
[Code].....
Assuming that the code is working fine (I haven't debugged it), this makes the particles to move all at once. However after several seconds of running it, the particles seem not to be moving in synchronization with each other (because their distances between seem to get nearer).
I'm building a thumbnail viewer in Flash CS5 using the TileList component. I know that you can adjust the alpha of the label background, but is there any way to simply move it so it appears below the thumbnail? I already created a new class which extends the ImageCell class, but I can't seem to find any methods to control the positioning of the label.
I've been using Processing for around two years now, and I really like it. However, I feel like Flash is a bit more useful for coding games, as it's more universal and flexible. I'm starting to feel like I have no idea what I'm doing, and I really don't get any of the concepts like movie clips and the stage and so forth. In Processing, to make, say, a ball, I might make this:
Ball[] ballArray = new Ball[ 0 ]; //Array to store each ball in void setup() { size( 400, 400 );
[code].....
And that would let me create as many instances as I like, anywhere I like.I haven't the faintest clue how to make a comparable applet in Flash.I've tried making a 'ball' class in a separate .as file, but it gives me an error about too many arguments. I also don't know how to draw a shape directly to the screen.
I have an array wich is filled with platforms that are supposed to move.
var MovingPlatformArray:Array = new Array(); for (var c:int = numChildren - 1; c >= 0; c--){ var child3:DisplayObject = getChildAt(c); if (child3.name == "movingplatform"){ MovingPlatformArray.push(child3);
[Code]...
Right now I have 2 moving platforms in this array. But only one moves up and down. But they both register a touch with the birdie.
I have a circle (bounding circle) offset from the centre point of my entity and I'm looking on how to move that circle around the entity as it rotates so that it's always in the same spot of the character.For example,say I have a bounding circle for the front of a car, when the car turns, that bounding circle needs to turn to So I have two points: position which is the position of the entity's centre point and offset which is the offset of the circle from that position. This assumes an angle of 0.
So if my car is facing 0 degrees: position (150, 150) and offset (50, 0) then the bounding circle would be at 200, 150.Now if I rotated the car 90 degrees, the bounding circle should be at position 150, 200.This is what I have now:
var differenceX : Number = _centre.x - _offset.x; var differenceY : Number = _centre.y - _offset.y; var rotatedX : Number = differenceX * Math.cos(_angle);[code]........But it's giving me these long ovals and now a perfect circle.
I have very little knowledge of ActionScript. I have a movie clip. I want it to move along the x-axis when i press down on a button(button or movie clip) I do not know what code to use as it needs to be Action Script 2. Is there a Tutorial or something that can accomplish this? I have found a tutorial that moves the object around when you press a button. I am trying to get the same effect when you click down on a button: [URL] UPDATE The button is called btn and the object that moves is mctransparent I have managed the folowing:
i have a character_mc that moves on mouse click, a logtxt dyanamic text box and a mc named $box. The camera follows the character and when the log and $ boxes are staying put.
I want them to stay on the same point on the stage(meaning I want them to stay at the same place on the camera) I was wondering what i might do for this? I have tried to put them in a movie clip but it doesn't really seam like it worked well so i discarded the idea.
In my attempt to create a simple Pong-like game, I've encountered a very strange and at times severe visual bug.When I set the ball (A Flash CS 5.5 library MovieClip) in motion moving around the screen at a rather fast speed, I've noticed that sometimes the edges of the ball would be cut-off for a short moment in the direction it is moving.
When it happens, it almost seems like the position of the ball MovieClip is slightly ahead of its own border and thus the part that is outside the border fails to get drawn.
Here's a picture that illustrates how this looks - at least for me:
You can also view the .swf file online here: [URL]
Some technical data:
I've been unsuccessful in capturing the with a screenshot no matter how much I tried. Sometimes I would open the .swf and the bug would be almost non-existent while at other times it was very blatant. I'm using an EnterFrame event function to increment / decrement the x and y position of the MovieClip. I have never encountered any such problem in any Flash app, in this machine or others. Truncating / rounding the x and y values of the MovieClip didn't help. Neither did setting cacheAsBitmap to true.
i have an movie clip instanced as "man" I have made him so that he has a Idle and Walk frame like this. He can also move left/right. (I also made him attack but that is irrelevant);[code]I need it to loop through the "walk" frames until i lift up the left/right key then go back to "idle" position. What happens is that it will go through the loop once and than go to idle even if I haven't lifted the key.[code]
I want to make a road in flash. You got a road with white stripes on it but it aint moving. I want the stripes to come at you to make it like you are driving the road.... Its not a straigt road but diagonal and dissapearing at the eind of the horizon.
I just made a new Flash project. It lets you move a Cube, with the arrow keys on the keyboard. Code: function hearKey(yourEvent:KeyboardEvent):void{ if (yourEvent.keyCode==Keyboard.RIGHT){ cube_mc.x+=5 }; if (yourEvent.keyCode==Keyboard.LEFT){ [Code] .....
It works perfectly fine, except for example: I press down the down key. It moves down (good so far). I keep pressing the down key down and also press the left key down. Now it moves left(not so good, I want it to move both left and down, how do I do that?) Now I release the left key but am still on the down key. Nothing happens....(I want it to then continue going down).
I am now trying to make a flash intro for my web site.I have downloaded some free templates for the same and examined them.Some special effects, means colour abstrract moving effects or explosion like effects are in that 'fla' file.They appear as movie clips. I can export them as flv also.How they are created? Is it in flash itself or from some other programs like after effects or something?I would like to create such effects for myself. If it is not in flash, then there is no point in wasting time figuring out the methods by myself.
Can I move a Flash object within the DOM without it reloading? I am developing a simple video chat application. Whenever I move a flash object within the dom tree, it resets itself. I have multiple streams which are aligned horizontally. Every stream is a different flash object. When someone enlarges a single Flash object, I need to move it to the top.
Whenever I move it to the top, that particular video resets itself, and you wait for a couple of second to get the stream back. I am currently simply prepending the same list item to the same parent. This is a very important feature and any kind of solution which doesn't require flash to reset itself is acceptable. (Except creating a parent flash container which has all the streams within it.)
I have imported a lot of paths from an Adobe Illustrator document right into a flash file. The paths exists as Drawing Objects inside the scene. Using pure actionscript, how can I move a symbol following each of the lines, without using predefined Motion Guides.
EDIT: I've attached the Flash file, full of drawing objects.
http:[url]....
The question is: Are these drawing objects accessible through AS3 or I should convert them to symbols / whatever format necessary.
I have a movieclip moving on a path by means of a tween. At the starting point a (virtual) line on the movieclip is tangent to the path. Is there an easy way to automagically rotate the movieclip such that this line remains tangent to the path throughout the tween?
I have a ball moving around the screen, position updated on ENTER_FRAME. My problem is that there is a considerable amount of flicker going on. I have thought about using something like TweenLite to move the ball but as the position is being updated frame-to-frame I don't think that will work.[code]...
