ActionScript 2.0 :: Label Inside Input Box?
Aug 3, 2009I want to put my input text box labels inside of the input box nd when the user clicks inside the box the label disappears. I can't find any documentation or tuts on this.

But i want to display the description if one of the other box value is greater than 1500, actaully there are two field one field has value for Security deposit amount and second is drop down security deposit type in this if the value is > 1500 the description should show.

Deposit amount (entering values in the box)
Field two (dropdown)
Deposit Type (Bank Draft/ Money order/Personal check)
If the value is in the deposit amount >1500 then it show the description under one lable "Please Send your postal address proof)i have that funciton

Feb 5, 2011I am having this problem using the dataGrid in flex. I have a Label in one of the columns of the datagrid, and the label has the truncateToFit property True. But it is not working.
At first I had a static width to Label, and it works in that case. But the problem using that is, when I change the wide of the column, in the output, it does not changes the width of label, and if I make the column width small, the label wont get truncated.
Using 100% width for the label, does not helps either.
My datagrid code looks like below given code:

Jun 29, 2011In a flex project that I have that is designed to scale 100% to the web window, I have a spark list. And I have a simple itemrenderer that takes the data and displays a name, and a message. Just think of it like a simple instant messenger display. The problem is that for my msg_txt label I want to give it a width thats the width of the parent list thats holding it.I tried turning the horizontalScrollPolicy to off, also tried width="this.parent.parent.width}" (as well as this.parent.width) for the spark label inside the item renderer. and in the label i tried some things like left="0" right="0" maxWidth="{this.width}" but nothing really does the trick.How can I make this label have a max width of the list thats holding it, AND make sure it resizes if the size of the browser changes and the list size changes?heres the list:

May 2, 2004I wanted a input text box and a submit button inside a draggable movieclip.
I created a base MC which has the necessary graphic. Then I created an input text box and a button. Then made all these components into single MC(final) and associated the following code with the combined MC.

Jul 26, 2010I have a basic input textfield that's inside a couple of movieclips. I have it set to input, and the cursor obediently appears when it's focused. However, any typing on the keyboard yields absolutely nothing. I'm curious as to what needs to happen to an input textfield to actually allow it to grow to become the input textfield it was meant to be. Now, the whole deal runs just fine when tested from the Flash IDE, but once it is published and embedded online it's hopelessly useless. I have two fields, the first being for an email and the second for a password. I've tried just about every combination of setting I could find, but here is the latest:

I'm aware that how something is embedded somehow effects how it works (though I'm fairly certain the display engine is made by the same people? ), so here is the embed [Code] ..... Everything else works just fine though... how the buttons interact, ExternalInterface, etc.. How what should be the simplest task fails to function just amazes me though. Do I have to literally make listeners to process all of the keyboard input? That would suck... but why would it work fine when I do "Test Project" and not when it's published and embedded?

Aug 22, 2011I'm updating a game in a Flash, using Actionscript 2 (what it was originally built in). It's a quiz game with different categories. At the end of each test is a results page showing their score for each of all the categories; each score being saved and displayed each time it's brought up. I need to have a print button added to this page, which I was able to do with

And labeling the frame of what I want to print #p. This works, but the drawback is, I can do that on each results page frame for each category; the error that results from multiple frames labeled the same thing, 'causes the dynamic text fields displaying the score to go blank when the print button is clicked. Even if it didn't, it would still print all of the frames with that label, printing multiple copies of the same results screen. Initially I planned to tie all the quizzes to a single results page; one results page, one results frame, only one frame with the #p label, and is the only thing printed.
The problem there is, I need to be able to have a back button that goes back to a point in the category the user just finished; so they can take the test again if they want, or take another part of the test in that category. So my idea was to put all of the dynamic text fields and the print button, inside a movie clip. All the text boxes have maintained their names and have embedding enabled. All of the actionscript, on any level of that frame, has been placed accordingly into the movie clip - and yet the dynamic text boxes will not populate with the score like they do outside the movie clip.
Worst still, the print button wont work at all inside the movie clip. Clearly I'm missing something, but I can't be that far off base in thinking this would work, am I? If I can make the movie clip show the results and work the print button, then I can use instances of the movie clip in as many frames as I need, but the only place the script or label for the print button will exist, is inside the movie clip. This is the script for the button putting the data into the text fields.
