View 2 Replieswas wondering if anyone could assist me with some actionscript. I am working on a project similar to this (thehideout.org.uk/refuge/) and making the background image move around as if it the scene is a POV.
View 1 Repliesi've got some code where a sprite follows the mouse around the screen. Now I want to also move the background so that it gives the impression of moving around a space. At the moment, the background moves ok but it stops when the mouse gets to the edge of the stage. Does anyone know how I can make the background continues moving once the mouse is at an edge to give the impression that the user is moving through space?
Code:
var ball:Ball = new Ball();
addChildAt(ball, 1);
ball.x = stage.stageWidth/2;

i want to make a game where u shoot arrows at the mouse direction, i have everything exept for that, i think is trigonometry, i have seen it on many games but i cant seem to figure it
im planning to make the arrow something like this
onClipEvent(enterFrame)
{
if(Key.isDown(Key.SPACE) && _root.readytoshoot == 1)
{

I would like to make a flash movie with a picture, where when the user holds down the mouse button, part of another picture will emerge in that general area (like a magnifying glass looking into another dimension).
Technically, my idea was to make a flash file with two images, and then code the mouse to be able to make the top picture transparent in a circle-like area around the cursor, while the mouse button is down.
But how to do that? I am using Flash CS4, but I don't really care if the solution is in AS2, or AS3, as long as it works
when the mouse rolls over an image, text appears (in a small rectangle) and it moves with the mouse, only while it is still over the image.
Or at least, does anyone know what this is called or how to do it?

I am making a XML photogallery with a background that resizes according to an image. It resizes so that it is is in the middle of the stage. The image is supposed to fade in the center as well, but I am having problems getting it to do so...
The gallery is loosely based on the XML gallery tutorial, but is modified to suit my own needs.[URL]..(for some reason it will not accept connections from kirupa.com - copy and paste the link into your browser )

In the following code ,onclick of fruits image how to make the fruits image drop in the box image with proper effect(i.e, dropping of the fruit image into the box image should be shown).

Here is what I've done so far: [URL] Basically my goal is to have this bottom image move horizontally according to the mouse. However it would be nice to have this image move slower and only go out of the stage by about 50px both ways (left and right). Here is the code I've used:

i have a panoramic image. and i want this image move to the cursors direction (left orr right) when mouse is over it.
View 5 RepliesI've been working for awhile and I finally have the Mouse Pan to work. Now I can't seem to insert it into my project. It works fine if the object I am panning is on Frame 1. However if I move it to the correct frame (5) it throws the coding off. Does anyone perhaps know what I'm doing wrong. I have a playhead that moves down the timeline, when it stops on frame 5, that's when I want the image to be available and pann-able. [code]
View 1 RepliesI readed the interactive image pan tutorial and thought it was great and I have a favor to ask.I have this project and I want the background image to pan when the mouse moves, the problem is that I have a menu and I want the buttons to go to different places on the image when I click on them and then the pan stops when the image reachs its destination.
I also have a button that I want to use to restart the Image panning. Heres an example of what I try to do:[URL]..If someone knows how to do this with Action Script,
I have 2 buttons that i made an up arrow and a down arrow. I would like them to move an image up or down on mouse click. Although i made the button rollover actions previously and i got the script below from researching online. Now I am not sure if i should even bother with it. I thought if i could get the actionscript to recognize the buttons and tell it what to move the (the ad) I could get them to work. But haven't figured out how to do that and if i have to make custom buttons for this. see what i have below thus far.

This probably will be very easy for some, but I am stuck on this. I have a map in a movieclip(mc_map) on stage and a small square which acts as a mask to the really bigger size of the same map. What I am want to do is that when I move the mouse on the mc_map(eg: say my cursor is on New York), the small sqaure window will unhide the same area, or will move that bigger image such that the same area is shown under the square mask. I also want to add another cursor(or crosshair) to the stage which is live only in the area of the square and replicates the position of mouse on map.
View 1 RepliesFor a project I am am working on I need a pan effect like the one in URL...Now I was just wondering how to do this. There are various ways I can think off to make the background move according to mouse movement, but nothing I have done comes close to the smoothness in URL...More specifically, I can trigger an event when mouse in moved left/right/up/down in the pressed down stage - this event can tween the background in any direction required. But how do I stop the tween movement when the mouse is released. Since I have asked the background to tween from one its central value to say its rightmost/leftmost value, how do I make it stop in the middle of the tween when the mouse is released.
View 3 RepliesI followed the tutorial below to get a great effect.

Only problem now is that the image is in the background, and you can see the edges as the image moves too far down!
Is there any way to have the image follow the mouse but only within a certain region, say the image will only follow the mouse if it is within a 100px high area?
The code I'm using is
Code:
onClipEvent (load) {
_y = 0;
speed = 5;
}

I only want the image to move up and down, not all around.
Does anyone know the algorithm used in this image panner [URL]
How to move the image in the opposite direction of mouse.
I want to create a simple static image on a 392 x 72 document. When you move your mouse over the image, it changes to a black screen with a cursor following mask in the shape of binoculars which reveals an image below (not the same image as static one).There is going to be a clickable monster which takes you to the next scene and from there,the next scene.I have attached a storyboarded idea of my banner.I have the images, I am just struggling with the ActionScript code.Click on the image to see comments on right hand side.
View 1 RepliesAny link or flash file which explain how to apply mouse move effect on images of gallery. I mean image sof gallery simply move with mouse direction and stop on mouse stop.
View 1 RepliesI have an image gallery which loads up an image full screen. Some of the image spills over the screen size and I would like the image to move based on the mouse position with easing, like in the following link:URL...
View 0 RepliesI need to make the background image move opposite the cursor to make it seem like the camera is moving.[URL]
View 1 Repliesi'm making a small "add news" movie for a site in actionscript. When I insert an image in my textField, I can only move the cursor with my keys and not with my mouse anymore. I put the image always in front. I also have to click one time in my textfield, otherwise my text appears under my image. When I click it aligns to the right.

View 2 RepliesFor a project, I'm making an interactive side scroller.You move the character with the arrow keys and press the space bar to interact with things.So far, I followed DexNote's tutorial on YouTube.I thought that I would make the interactable objects as buttons, while the mouse focus would be on the character and when you press the space bar it make a mouse click in that area.The trouble I'm having now is that I don't know how to make the space bar trigger the "interactions."
View 1 RepliesI want to embed some video into my HTML page. As background I want to use big picture. And above it I want to insert loop video with (i.e.) walking man.So, can I embed video (without flash and any player controls) in page?Can I decode video with transparent background? Is there any codecs which support transparent background (alpha-channel)?
View 1 RepliesIt has been awhile since I have worked in flash.Right now I am working on something where I would like a panel to disappear when someone mouses off the stage.stage.addEventListener(Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, leaveHandler); It usually works fine but if I move my mouse really fast it doesn't fire. I have also tried the same thing using a custom invisible button that surounds the perimeter of the stage and I have tried ROLL_OVER and MOUSE_OVERand again, if I do it too fast my event doesn't fire (I am using trace)I can't find anything on the net about this - is this typical of flash that if you move your mouse too fast you break it? Do I need to increase my frame rate (I would really rather not because I have perfectly timed animations - I am at 30 frames per second)
View 1 RepliesAs of Flash 10.2, Flash supports hardware accelerated mouse cursors:[URL]..Unfortunately, the mouse cursor doesn't update until AFTER the mouse moves. You can see this behavior on the web page above. If you click "Set to custom cursor" in the sample app at the bottom of the article, you'll see that the cursor doesn't change until you move the mouse.
Anyone have a trick for updating the mouse cursor immediately, before the user moves the mouse? I tried doing Mouse.hide(); Mouse.show(); but that doesn't work.
I am creating mouse scroller and when I insert actionscript my images wont move depending on the mouse movements..I am using Flash cs5 and Actionscript 2.0...this is my actionscript:

I am trying to have two guestures on a SpriteVisualElement which I thought should be pretty simple implemented: Mouse_Move for sweep Gestures and mouse click to enable.. So I have 2 Eventlisteners on my stage:
[Code]...
The main problem is that every type of sweeping on the screen also fires the taphandler().. how to identify the correct event? I tried to to my taphandler only if(!event.buttondown) but no success.
