I've got a small flash movie on my site which contains animated buttons. The problem? When I roll over the buttons and then out of the flash window quickly (and onto normal html), the buttons freeze.how to tell an action to tell the flash movie that the mouse is out of the flash window?

If the mouse cursor goes outside the window I want it to stop scrolling, but flash reads the cursor position as the last place it was, when it was still within the flash window.I know I've done this before, but I can't at all remember how!Is there an event I can listen for or something similar?

View 2 Repliesi need to track the mouse movements(and register what component is under the mouse), it is done already, but i meet new problem, if click right button then context menu will be opened and no any new events(mouseMove, mouseOver) received by my components. I understand that this context menu is more browser then flash/flex and afaiu the is no way to disable context menu at all. So may be somebody know any trick to avoid this events blocking?

I have the code to make the window(instance name container)which is centered, but cant figure out how to rotate it properly--it seems to rotate correctly along the y axis(when the mouse is centered, there is no rotation) but not the x. here's the code: Im using tweenMax.

what i am trying to achieve is have a rollover on a button that pops up a 'window' with some text on it (i have this bit worked out) then once the user has finished reading the text they rollout from the 'window' and the image behind is restored. i have attached the .fla so you can see what i mean.
what is going wrong is that the active part of the rollover on the button is only very small and as the 'window' expands and then reveals the text, the active part of the button remains small. so when the user moves his or her mouse the 'window' disappears. i'd like it to stay open until they rollout from the entire text window.
I am preparing a presentation DVD... DVD will contain wmv video, user manual and another flash exe file... So DVD interface will contain three elements; user manual, a flash exe file and video.. Flash video window will be short-time video, playing like 5-10 seconds then repeats itself... View 1 RepliesI created a Flash application that reads POST data from a form. A user clicks the button, and the data gets posted to the flash app in a new window (_blank). Now takes the data and then spins a wheel to give users a prize. If they don't win a message pops up letting them know they didn't win. If they don't win, clicking the OK button needs to close the browser window.
I've tried a number of solutions and it seems that the only way to get this done is to launch the window with javascript and then use ExternalInterface.call('window.close'); to close the window from within the Flash actionscript (3) because otherwise the window won't close (I've tried just using window.close and window.close() with no luck)
I understand how to launch a new window with javascript, but I don't know how to simultaneously launch and POST data to that window (the Flash application has to have the POST data. Is this the best solution? Is there a way to close a browser window easier than what I'm describing?[URL]

This works fine in Firefox but in IE it doesnt work, I then change the /v/ in the youtube link with /p.swf?video_id= and now I have the window open showing the small youtube thumbnail of my video but once a click play, nothing happens, I check it and is not loading anything.
I have a flash that has a background symbol that responds to CLICK event. On top of that symbol I have a sprite that contains a Bitmap with transparent pixels. Both of them are added to the stage, so they are not related directly.
I want clicks on the transparent pixels on the sprite to go straight through to the background. I have read about mouseEnabled / mouseChildren but have not been able to make these work. The symbol ignores the mouse events when I use them, but does not pass it along as if its transparent.
Is this possible to do with flash? Or will I have to re-route mouse events?
As of Flash 10.2, Flash supports hardware accelerated mouse cursors:[URL]..Unfortunately, the mouse cursor doesn't update until AFTER the mouse moves. You can see this behavior on the web page above. If you click "Set to custom cursor" in the sample app at the bottom of the article, you'll see that the cursor doesn't change until you move the mouse.
Anyone have a trick for updating the mouse cursor immediately, before the user moves the mouse? I tried doing Mouse.hide(); Mouse.show(); but that doesn't work.
I have a class called Mouse (tracking button states in a game). I want that class to be able to show and hide the mouse cursor. Whenever I try to use flash.ui.Mouse.show() or flash.ui.Mouse.hide() I get the error: "Access of undefined property flash.".
I can't import flash.ui.Mouse for obvious reasons.
Is there a way to make this work? What's the point of packages if they don't resolve these collisions?
I have a flash app loaded in an iframe. User mouses down in flash and goes outside of stage. When user goes outside of stage, is there a way to release the mouse capture from flash so that parent receives further mouse events and not the flash app?

View 3 RepliesSo I have this AIR app coded in flex where I have several floating native windows and what I want is to detect when a user clicks outside of a window so that I can close it. (I don't want to use the PopupManager Class and would want to use the native windows).
My question is, is there a way to detect a click outside of a spark window, or alternativley is there some root container/object which is a parent to all the native windows so that a click inside any native window would bubble up to it? (Apparently the stage object of the root windowed application is not that object since each window is not a child of the stage for the root application).

I'm trying to create a pop up window in Flash which also fades the background window to 75% black. When the user closes the pop up window, I'd like for the parent window to un-fade back to normal. Is this possible? I can do the first half of it and make the background window fade to 75% black. The difficult thing is making it fade back to normal when the user closes the pop up window.My thoughts are that I need to attach some code to the browser's built in close window button. It might require some javascript or a fscommand. I'm not sure.

2. can i put a link in my movie that will open a new window of a specific size, and without the menu-buttons of explorer?
Go to [URL]. Click on "The Photos". It will pop up in a fullscreen window. Try resizing the window and you'll notice that the background is vector and it looks like the scale mode is set to "showAll". BUT, the photos look like they have a separate scale mode set to "noScale". They don't resize.
