View 2 RepliesI've got a movie with a "next" button. The movie is approximately 1330 px wide. The "next" button needs to move left and right within that width as the browser window is resized. For instance, the browser window starts at greater than 1330px wide so the "next" button is at the far right edge of the movie. The user then resizes the browser down to 800px wide. The "next" button needs to move left to 800px. The entire movie can't resize, only the "next" button in that movie must move.
Here's a link the movie as it currently is. The "next" button shows up after the 2nd click in the sequence. It's the brown arrow on the right. http:[url].....
Im trying to make a 3d window that rotates according to the mouse movement. I have the code to make the window(instance name container)which is centered, but cant figure out how to rotate it properly--it seems to rotate correctly along the y axis(when the mouse is centered, there is no rotation) but not the x. here's the code: Im using tweenMax.
Code:
function init(e:Event):void {
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, trackMouse,false,0, true);
}
function trackMouse(e:MouseEvent):void {

what i am trying to achieve is have a rollover on a button that pops up a 'window' with some text on it (i have this bit worked out) then once the user has finished reading the text they rollout from the 'window' and the image behind is restored. i have attached the .fla so you can see what i mean.
what is going wrong is that the active part of the rollover on the button is only very small and as the 'window' expands and then reveals the text, the active part of the button remains small. so when the user moves his or her mouse the 'window' disappears. i'd like it to stay open until they rollout from the entire text window.
I strolled across something neat on a radio website [URL] and I really like how they do the flash on the top left. Below is the link to the actual SWF for bigger so that you can see what the SWF looks like. on the link above, you can move your mouse over the squares and it pops up a little window. You can even click on that. Here is the link to the SWF. [URL]

What's the correct way to track mouse position, from Adobe Flash, when someone has: Started a drag within the Flash application (a MOUSE_DOWN event), Dragged the mouse outside the app or even the browser window (a MOUSE_MOVE event), and Released the mouse button (a MOUSE_UP event)? For example (imagine Stack Overflow is a Flash application):
Within the app, I'm able to track the mouse X and Y positions with a MOUSE_MOVE event listener, but I lose it when it goes outside of the browser... So, how do I track the position of the mouse no matter where it goes? For a good example, try Google Finance. Try dragging the chart around; it'll still drag around if you move your mouse out of the browser window, and the mouse will be outside of the browser when you release it.
Also, check out KOKO KAKA; If you click on the scrollbar (make the browser window really small) and move outside of the browser window, the scroll bar moves just like a real one would. I believe both only work because the MOUSE_DOWN event "captures" the mouse, allowing the Flash application to track the position of the mouse even when it is outside of the browser.
im trying to use this fullbrowser scroller in my site but it appears only if stage/ browser window is resized with mouse. it should appear right away! here is the site ad-d.org and here is the files ad-d.org.zip
View 1 Repliesi have a flash site that links to PDF's with the navigateToURL function which works etc But now i would like Link to rather open up a download window instead of just a new browser window?
View 3 RepliesI have a standalone Flash projector running off CD. Currently, I use
getURL("http:url....);
to open the page on default browser. Only problem is the browser window is opening at the size it was last used. I like to see it opens full screen.
The title essentially is the question, how do I open the .swf without the browser's control bar junk? and maximize the window?

View 6 RepliesI have looked around for this and haven't found a way that clearly explains how to do this. More often than not the button will close the browser window in one but not another browser.
Is the a simple way of closing a browser window in all types of browser ( Or mainly Firefox, IE and safari on both Mac and PC ) with actionscript?

View 0 RepliesIt has been awhile since I have worked in flash.Right now I am working on something where I would like a panel to disappear when someone mouses off the stage.stage.addEventListener(Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, leaveHandler); It usually works fine but if I move my mouse really fast it doesn't fire. I have also tried the same thing using a custom invisible button that surounds the perimeter of the stage and I have tried ROLL_OVER and MOUSE_OVERand again, if I do it too fast my event doesn't fire (I am using trace)I can't find anything on the net about this - is this typical of flash that if you move your mouse too fast you break it? Do I need to increase my frame rate (I would really rather not because I have perfectly timed animations - I am at 30 frames per second)
View 1 Replieswhen the mouse rolls over an image, text appears (in a small rectangle) and it moves with the mouse, only while it is still over the image.
Or at least, does anyone know what this is called or how to do it?
As of Flash 10.2, Flash supports hardware accelerated mouse cursors:[URL]..Unfortunately, the mouse cursor doesn't update until AFTER the mouse moves. You can see this behavior on the web page above. If you click "Set to custom cursor" in the sample app at the bottom of the article, you'll see that the cursor doesn't change until you move the mouse.
Anyone have a trick for updating the mouse cursor immediately, before the user moves the mouse? I tried doing Mouse.hide(); Mouse.show(); but that doesn't work.
I am creating mouse scroller and when I insert actionscript my images wont move depending on the mouse movements..I am using Flash cs5 and Actionscript 2.0...this is my actionscript:

I am trying to have two guestures on a SpriteVisualElement which I thought should be pretty simple implemented: Mouse_Move for sweep Gestures and mouse click to enable.. So I have 2 Eventlisteners on my stage:
[Code]...
The main problem is that every type of sweeping on the screen also fires the taphandler().. how to identify the correct event? I tried to to my taphandler only if(!event.buttondown) but no success.
I started another thread where i had gotten help and combined the snow tutorial and the programatic mask tutorial to create particles that reveal an in-focus image over a blurred one. I just need help making the particles swarm around the mouse when it is present and have the particles just float around when not. Presently the random motion is just fine and looks like this (i just inverted the this._x and this._y so that they would go with the mouse direction not away from):
[Code]...
I'm wondering how is this task done that listen to mouse move event when user cursor is out of stage?
View 6 Repliesi am using this on Mc
onClipEvent(enterFrame){
diffx = _root._xmouse - this._x ;
diffy = _root._ymouse - this._y ;
[code]....
How can you restrict the mouse so that users cannot move their mouse into a certain area, (or a certain y or x value)? This is useful to me because I need it for a game.

View 1 RepliesI have a flashmovie that measures 950x675 px. If the user have a smaller webbrowser window than my movie i want the movie to be fitted in the browser window. But if the browsers width and/or height measures more than my movie i don't want it to fit (zoom), then the swf should only be centered.
