How do I write a function for a next button - to use with the following script:Once you have selected an item from the drop down I want to navigate next/back with seperate buttons to avoid having to use the drop down menu each time.

View 4 RepliesThe first on is using the Tweener class and everytime that I press a button it fades out the loaded content of the previous selection, waits for it to finish and then loads the content of the button pressed. Everything works fine with this part. The second code is the on that is using an Array to dynamicaly rollover, rollout and keep selected the buttons.It was also changing the content of the mc that everything is loaded on but without this fancy fade in - fade out...!!

I am a designer working in a flash file on the navigation part. The web site (is not yet posted) works fine but I need to change the contents when the menu is clicked (contact us, etc. ..). I need to find where the information is so I can change the address, phone number, info. but I have looked everywhere and cannot find it. Where could it be hiding?

Basically, I have a button and on click it displays a menu. I want to click that menu a second time and the menu closes. Currently, every time you click the button, the menu reopens. I pasted the Flex livedoc example below. If you click the button, the menu keeps reopening.Now, I rigged it up by setting a var to open and closed, so when clicking the button it does a check. However, if you click away from the screen, the HIDE event gets dispatched, and the menu closes. This messed up the open close var being set.
How could I make this Flex example below show the menu on button click, and then on a second button click, it closes the menu? Take into affect that if you click away from the menu, it closes it.Also, I played around with the MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE event for the button and set the preventDefault, and the FlexMouseEvent event.cancelable is set to false.Changing to a PopUpMenuButton is not an option. I have to much skinning involved.Here is the Flex example:

I'm have made some buttons (movie clip) and when I click on it, I want a file (home.swf) to load in a loader (mx.contents.loader) and I want the other buttons to do the same, all load into the same loader. I have no Idea how to do that. The way I have it set up now, the home.swf will load over the entire screen and that is not what I want. I just want the content to load into the loader and have its content change once I click on the other buttons. Here is a copy and past of that I have at the moment, I'm using Flash 8 to do it all.

I would not have asked the question if I owned an iphone, but so far I only have an android phone for development.
The question is: Should I use the View.viewMenuItems that are provided by flex mobile? Or should I better embed the functionality in another way? I don't know what possibilities might exist on iphone to open the menu, because it has no hardware button "menu".
By the way: How could I open the menu in the Flash-Builder mobile device emulator - there are no buttons, too..

So when someone clicks "Van toen tot nu" (= an item about her past theatre plays), it displays a new menu that holds chronological buttons. Once someone cliks one of those, an extra element should show that displays info.
So in the element holding all the buttons on frame one AS says:

So far I can't get it to work, I don't get any error messages and everything else displays 'according to plan'
If I am making a simple navigation menu bar for a flash site in AS2 with mouse over/rollOut effects, then what is some possiblr actionscript I can use per menu item in order to have tHAT particular menu item selected while it's active ( in other words, if I click on services and I am located on the services page, the services object form the menu would be highlighted and if I were to click on that 'Active/highlighted" menu object, no event would occur. but it would simply remain highlighted until the point that I click on a different menu object and that highlight effect on previous menu object would fade out.
View 3 RepliesI am building a menu and for each button of the menu, subbuttons apear beneath it along the menu. And I am having some problems. Each of the menu buttons has animations for rollOver and rollOut. What can I do so that when I move over the subbuttons the menu button won't start the rollOut animation. I have to extend the hit state. If I put the subbuttons in the same movie clip as the menu button, the animation would be bad because I am doing width, height, x and y tweenings with ActionScript and addind something the the clip would change these properties. Pls help.
Is it possible to extend the hit state of the menu button in some way ?
I have attached a file with a senocular springy menu that i have been playing around with. One thing i would like to know how to do is - towards the bottom of the script on _root, a comment says: // for unique content in item clips, attach those / movie clips to the item clip here i have tried many ways to make different content in each menu item, but to no avail (my knowledge of actionscript is not that great). Those buttons, which are not drop down/masked, work properly. Those which are drop down/masked, do not work.
