I am loading an array into flah with loadVars. I split the array up into many sections. myArray[i][0], myArray[i]1, myArray[i][2] ect... My questions is how can I output all of one section of the array. Like all the myArray[i][0] to a textbox. So the text box looks like this; myArray[i][0]myArray[i][1]myArray[i][2]myArray[i][3] Basicly, I am trying to load an array, and output it in a different order.
i've got a scenario that i'm working thru on paper first and wanted to run it by everyone to see if i'm doing it correctly and most importantly, efficiently so, here goes...the situation | an instance of the DateChooser component reads an xml file which houses info for homework assignments and their due dates. if there is a due date, make sure that date is highlighted on the DateChooser component. from what i've been told, the xml file stores urls which will tell if there is s/thing due on a particular date.
[code]...
What needs to happen as soon as the xml file is loaded? i.e. do i call a function which parses the xml data and puts it into an array? then the DateChooser component iterates thru the array looking for boolean values noting if there is an activity or not and if so, on which day. if it finds one, it sets its highlight property to true for that particular day.
I am trying to recreate an xml through php as I am pulling information from a database. I know the problem is with the php code as the actionscript code works with a normal xml file[code]...
I have two classes, both in the same package, one of which parses xml and adds a value to the second via an internal set method. This initially works fine but as soon as add a public get method to the second class I get an error (1059: Property is read-only).
The problem goes away if I make both methods public or internal but in this situation I would like to have one of each. Is this possible? I thought I had done this in the past without any problems but maybe not.
I have loaded an XML file in the class LoadXML and have here created a method which parses the data and returns various arrays: an array of background urls (i called the array: hintergrund[]), an array of image paths (pfad[]), an array of website urls (website[]) and so forth. In the main class I would now like to load the backgrounds and images. I must have made a mistake in my onBackgrLoad() because I keep receiving the error msg:Error #1084: Syntax error: expecting rightparen before colon.Here are the relevant sections in my Main class:
What would be the best way to output a multidimensional array so that later on I could input it (through user input) and it won't be to hard to read it?
I am having problems understanding arrays. More exact, how to output them in a fashion. Say i have this array of five items, and i want to output them items starting first with a random number and then increasing by one until the array reaches the last index. But say the random number is 2? It would diplay 2 through 4 but not display 0 or 1. I would like to display 0 through what ever the initial random number was. In this case 2 through 4 would display, i would then like the 0 through 1 to display after. [code]...
I'm working through some tutorials from my instructor to eventually build a simple e-com website for a state park. Basically, I'm using the two as3 files shown below and trying to get "bob" in my output with an array function and trace. Load store function is intentionally coded out. When I test project, nothing comes up in output, and I have no errors.
Main012.as: package { import flash.display.MovieClip; public class Main012 extends MovieClip { public function Main012() { [Code] .....
It outputs the array just fine, but what I want to do is add in a line break here and there to make it more beautiful. In the dynamic text field properties there is an option for "Render text as HTML". With the option checked I tried adding in <br> and/or <p> HTML tags but all it does is prints out the "<br>" instead of making a new line. (I also have the text field set to Multiline.) Is there anyway to get it to have a line break?
I am trying to create a 3x3 array. When I run my code the output is only one black_mc which is the very first one and the rest doesn't appear. Can someone point it out to me my error pls.
var black_mc:Black ;var white_mc:White ; var tile:Array = new Array(new Array(black_mc,white_mc,black_mc), new Array(white_mc,black_mc,white_mc), new Array(black_mc,white_mc,black_mc)); for(var i:int=0; i<3; i++){ [Code] .....
I am trying to output my cart array into a dynamic text field and format it. After the user clicks 'add' I am using...
ActionScript Code: //insert product data into cart array details.push([ItemCode,ItemColor,SecondColor,Price,Description]); //reset text box var textoutput:String = ""; //loop through contents [Code] .....
How can I format each value? Ineed some sort of neat table style output but how to do this in flash.
I'm stuck on this tutorial trying to learn how arrays functions. My task is to declare a variable, write an array, loop through the array and output the match in a textfield already created on stage. This code does that, but it gives me the match in number, instead of writing the name I get the number from the array, 2. How can I get the textfield to display the name Stian?
var bestevenn:String = 'Stian' var mineVenner:Array= new Array();mineVenner[0]='Janne';mineVenner[1]='Liv';mineVenner[2]='Stian';mineVenner[3]='Henri
I'm teaching myself ActionScript and the book I'm reading just got into input text capabilities. The book shows me how to link input text to a variable and output that text to the output window using trace. My question is: how can I display the text that the user input onto the actual movie. For example... if I wanted the visitor to type their name into the input text box and click Submit and then a phrase shows up with their name such as "Hold on Name, my site will be done soon." How do I reference that variable and have it actually display in my movie?
I have set the PHP header for XML output, and changed lots of other things but could not make it work.The $match->getId() part is just returning an integer but IE always shows this value as 0. If I set <fan_id> and <match_id> manually, IE shows the values correctly. By the way, I am using this XML output in Flash (AS3) and this also shows the same result with IE.
alright, i want the output to be one after another, but right now it just overwrites a previous output in the loop. how would i get it to output one after another?
How would I go about compiling just AS3 in CS3? I tried having my .as files in a folder then creating a new .fla from within CS3 in the same folder but I cant seem to get any output.
I am still running Flash MX (04). Because I find flash a little more useable than other progs, I am using it to create a presentation. I am creating a project that I intend to only use as a standalone SWF (not uploadable to a site or anything). I intend to play the SWF full screen on a laptop and output to an LCD projector as a presentation. I have the stage set at 1024 x 768 and am using movie clips imported/embedded (which arent the full 1024x768 but slightly smaller ), text, photo's and audio. I am nearly 2/3rds the way through and the SWF file size is growing (currently at 16 meg). I expect it to be in the region of 90 meg + or so as some audio yet to be loaded and still photos are quite size heavy. Is there any way i can get the audio to sound a little clear as when the SWF is published the sound seems to lose a little quality in the compression. Also, what is the maximum size you would recommend a standalone SWF in this scenario should/could be?
if it's possible to dynamically output a swf from a playing swf? For example, if a user was running a swf movie and clicked a button, a swf could be dynamically published of a particular area within the swf.
