I have a flash movie that has an internal movie clip, when the various buttons are pressed I want to load a movie in place of this original so I have put this script one of the buttons:

However, the new movie is not positioned in the correct place ie - instead of it being in the same position as the original MC the top left corner is positioned in the middle of the stage.
How can I take a loded image and with actionscript position it at say 45 degrees (3d, not 2d) so that it looks like I'm looking from one side. It would have a 3d look.

When I hit cntrl + enter, everything lines up looks good and works fine. When I do a publish preview in HTML however, the mc is dragged all the way to the bottom of my screen and mostly hidden beneath my footer.

-would it be possible to set the _x and _y of image.jpg relative to myMC?You see moving myMC and then loading the picture into it will not me because myMC is to be scaled and manipulated, so its axis must be in the center of the loaded image.
This is a webpage, where I use a modified gallery from tutorial (xml galllery with thumbs).This place is where I align picture movieclip in the center of area (which is also a mask).Sometimes, action clip doesn't get image _width and _height and load a picture with it's left upper corner in the center of mask movieclip. When I click again on thumbnail - image loads already perfectly how it should be centered. What can be the problem? maybe I missed something?Here is a modified code of the gallery:

I have five rectangle shaped movie clips....I need to change their _y position randomly by clciking a button..but there must be 10px space between them... so how do I modify the code to do it ?
In the following code when my movie first starts I want all my movieClips to be 25 pixels appart from each other no matter what the width of the mc. In the function "thumbnails" I can't seem to get my images to be seperated by 25 pixels on start up.I also want to set the y position of each movie clip so each image is seperated in the y direction by varying amounts but not to excede maxY amount. I haven't built that in yet. I am just trying to get them seperated in the x position by the correct amount.
I've looked in many places and still haven't found a solution to my problem... how his content stays positioned even after you resize your browser window?
I have the positioning for a movieclip set via _x and _y parameters. It works fine when I publish and test just that flash file with the movieclip in it. Problem is, this flash file is embed inside another. Once I load the main flash file, the _x and _y are relative to that parent file.

Basically, it generates a grid from two movie clips which are just different coloured squares. It reads in generateMap function to decide whether it will be a red square or a white square. 0 = white 1 = red. (the reds are going to prevent a sprite from travelling on them)
Anyway, at the moment the starting point for generating this grid is at 0,0 of the movie clip. I want it to generate at say 150,0 so i can add a console on the left which can control a sprite around this grid.
i have a movie in which i have 50 thumbnails dynamically added to a mc and i have a scroller to scroll the mc which works fine.. on each thumb i have a rollover image (which is a bigger image of the thumb) which works fine but i want the rollover image to be shown within the area of mask area which is not happening now..

This is my first action script project and I'm having trouble with some positioning of movie clips that I can't work out. I'll post in the parts of the code that I think are relevant in hopes that someone may be able to see what I am missing. The problem is that according to my traces my gridSnap function should be working. The trace shows mc.y to have the correct value while the movie is running yet the mc's in question are appearing in the wrong spot (they appear at GRIDSIZE*gridNumber) in the movie. The problem only manifests itself in case one and case three, both of which should have the same code but I was only testing different approaches in case one. On with the code:
I'm trying to use the scroll pane component for the first time, and I've spent most of the day getting nowhere. Based on my experience with other components and with loading content into movie clips, I expected that I would point my scroll pane to its content and be off and running, but that hasn't happened.

I'm not sure how to describe what I'm seeking, but basically I have a movie loaded in a clip and when the user clicks a button, I want the loaded movie to perform some kind of action (fade out or whatever) while the new movie is loaded.
I have an external swf (sub.swf) that loads into my main swf. The external swf has buttons of its own...that I would like to use to load additional external swf's in its place. I click on the buttons and nothings happens.

I have 2 EXTERNAL movies being loaded with initial load of my site into my main.swf, one of which (movingbg.swf) is being loaded with a preloader. The problem is that my other movie (menubar.swf) is loaded before my first movie. I think I should use the _visible property to solve this and here is what I have so far...
Greetings. I've been doing this tutorial. [URL] And worked pretty well. In order to adapt to my needs i made it a movie with a drag and drop parameter to be loaded in another movie (with loadMovie or loadMovieNum). The problem is than the movie loads, drags but doesnt drops. Even i tried with the example movie and nothing happens.
my problem is that i need to make a reisze, cause the screen resolution for other users. My main and news movie works perfect, but the others movies re-scale everything bigger. The problem of the external loaded movie is: this movie needs the funktion:
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale"; Stage.align = "TL";
If i dont have this code inside the movie is not going to resize fullscreen into the main movie. Inside this movie im scalling photos and some mc's You can take a look what i mean under: [URL]
If you take a look to the bar where the Number of pictures (30) are you will see that the lower bar and the pictures is not going to scale to fill the full screen if i delete the this code;
My _root movie is nothing more than a interface with navigation buttons. When someone clicks a button another swf is loaded into an empty movie clip on _root.
My Problem:I understand loaders and use them all the time, however, I still to this day have never gotten a loader to work with loading an external movie into a currently playing movie. (ie: in my _root movie you press the "Searching" button and searching.swf is loaded into _root.contents --> contents is the empty movie clip)So anyways... where does the loader go? The only results I've ever had is as SOON as the loadMovie method is called the movie hangs until the entire movie clip is loaded. Then the loader runs... thus making it totally useless.
say i have a main movie, into this movie is loaded another movie on level_1.
is there any actionscript that allows a button inside the loaded movie control the main movie? i.o.w. can a button inside the loaded movie tell the main movie to go to another scene?
+ i am looking for code for that same button to unload the movie it is in itself..
