ActionScript 2.0 :: Shared Object To Save Multiple Data
Dec 3, 2011
I am new to ActionScript. I am designing a calendar with schedule just like outlook calendar. I have 30 or 31 small text boxes for each month. I would like to save data in the text boxes so that data remains in that even when the file is closed. I used the following code and it works fine.
[Code]....
My question is, I have totally more than 360 text boxes for 12 months. How can I save all data using shared object? I tried loop, Array and function with the above code. But it did not work. You can also tell me if there is any other way to save data using PHP MySQL or ASP? If so how to do that?
I'm using a loader for people to use to upload their own images for a background, and I want it to remember the image the next time they come to the page, so is there any way to save the loader data in a shared object? I haven't tried just using something like
I am trying to use the shared object to save the _x and _y positions of several attached MC's. The attached MC's have all been given a variable name and attached to a dynamically created MC called "world".I need to loop through all of the MC's in _root.world to save their postions to the shared object. Here is what I have tried,.... when I trace so.flush.. it traces to true but the object postions are not saved.......
Code: _global.initSo = function() { _global.so = SharedObject.getLocal("marinaSave"); // if the SharedObject object created a new shared object
[code]....
Am I using the for... in method correctly to loop through the MC's in _root.world and save their values?
I'd like to get the input text in the SWF to save on exiting the SWF without pushing a button. Here's what I have so far that incorporates pushing a button
Code: var savedstuff:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("Cookie"); btnSave.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, SaveData); function SaveData(MouseEvent) {
I wanna to make some flash for save and load color... Click button to change button color and click again return to old color and Save lase color When run project to show last save color
i want to create some 1 button for save and 1 button for load all shared object in my projectthis is my code for save and load and i want to create 1 button for save and 1 button for load last check point
how can i make a shared object save a user name for a scoreboard it works like this i made a mc that is the scoreboard and the scoreboard has text boxes in it and the game gets a popup when it starts with a editeble text i want that text to save on to a text box in the scoreboard mc how can i do that?
I have developed a game in flash and I am trying to get a save and load function so that the user can come back to the game that they were playing. Can this be done using the Shared Object....
I'm playing with Local Shared Objects, and I was able to save and load simple data types like strings and integers. Pretty cool.
I want to Save/Load a Bitmap Object but I'm having problems. I think I got a Bitmap Object to save but when I loaded it back in, it was basically a blank bitmap. I located the actual .SOL file on my computer and opened it up. It had some basic Bitmap info like scale, rotation, visible, width, height, etc, but NOT the actual bitmap.
So I realized that I need to be saving/loading a BitmapData object instead of just Bitmap. BitmapData holds the actual bitmap pixels, I think. Anyway I saved out a BitmapData object. When i tried to load it back in, I get a type coercion error: "Type Coercion failed: cannot convert Object@df355b1 to flash.display.BitmapData". I dont get it because this error didnt occur for Strings, ints, or Bitmap Objects. Whats happening?
Also, I looked again at the .SOL file after saving out the BitmapData object, And I dont see any pixel data there. The bitmap I'm saving is 800x800 so the .SOL file should be pretty big but its just a tiny file so I know the pixels havn't been saved properly.
Here is the code I'm using (Simplified - error handling removed, etc)
Code: // save var mySo:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("mysharedobjecttest"); mySo.data.testA = 14; mySo.data.testB = "hello this is a test";
I am programming a web based application with Actionscript 2.0 classes for flash 8, and I want to save user data using the local shared object.As the data is potentially rather complex I would prefer to store it in an instance of a custom class that I then stick in an array property of the local shared object data property.However, when I try to do this, if I retrieve the stored object it seems to have lost all its instance methods. If I do a for in on it, I can see the private properties to which I have assigned my data, but as they are private I cannot retrieve them.how I can store an instance of a custom class in a local shared object without it being corrupted in this way?
I'm creating a small app to run from CD-Rom/local installation that will use multiple shared objects for data storage. To ensure proper saving without surprising the user with a permissions dialog unexpectedly, I'd like to request unlimited data storage on first time app launch - Joey Lott shows how to do this in the Actionscript Cookbook... request=mySO.flush(1024 * 500);
My question is,Can I perform this permissions request with the user a single time with a generic app SO in global fashion, so that the permissions would be set for any SOs created during the use of the product (all written to same SO directory),or do I have to request permissions for each and every SO created? Since the latter would be unacceptable from a UE standpoint, that means stuffing all app data into a single SO which doesn't seem so great from a data config perspective...
I have 2 ways of accessing info in my course files (SWFs): text-only and audio playback. I'd like to use shared object to store the user preference so it remembers the setting when navigating between screens. It stores info file but each file creates its own shared object.
for example: <path to the swf>page1.swfcoursename.sol <path to the swf>page2.swfcoursename.sol <path to the swf>page3.swfcoursename.sol
Since it writes and reads the SOL file of its own folder, the user setting isn't remembered when switching pages.
I'm working on AS3 on main timeline. I have 20 frame labels parte1 to parte20. On parte1 I have a preloader and SharedOject code. The preloader works fine. On parte8 I have a movie clip (whole_master), which contains three frame levels (g_level_1, g_level_22, and g_level_33). Each frame contains a level of a game. My sharedObject doesn't work.
Code: //Saving data var so=SharedObject.getLocal("learningGames", "/"); so.data.whole_master=whole_master;so.data.g_level_1=whole_master.g_level_1; so.data.g_level_22 =whole_master.g_level_22;so.data.g_level_33 =whole_master.g_level_33; //testing if shared object exists [Code] .....
I am creating a computer game with a save game function which outputs the contents of an array to a shared object, so that users don't loose their place.However, I wish for this to work with multiple users, and realise that to do this I need a new seperate "folder" within the shared object being created for each new users data array.I know it must be something like....
// Define the shared object using a "sublevel" for each users data array... _root.savegame.sublevel = sharedobject.getLocal("savegame"; "/"); // somehow dynamically change "sublevel" to the contents of the var "currentUser" as defined when the user logs in when the game loads up.
OR...
//Define the shared object but using a variable title for the actual SO... _root.savegame = sharedobject.getLocal("savegame_currentUser", "/"); //with that "currentUser" being dynamically substituted for the contents of the var "currentUser" which is defined when the User logs in when the game loads up.
I have a client that is running a 64 bit system. On my 32 bit system my Shared Object writes the data without a problem but theres hangs when the call is made to write the data. Any ideas how to go about solving this problem? I would think it would not matter if the system is 32 or 64.
I'm wondering if it's possible to access a shared object's data (once it's been changed) without reloading the swf. Specifically, I have two swfs: one changes the data in the so and lets the second swf "know" via a localconnection. I have a function in the second swf that fires via the local connection.[code]This function looks for the new value however it doesn't show the updated value in my textfield unless I refresh the browser. Thoughts?
I have 2 swf that will be loaded on a website. One suppose to generate a bytearray and being passed over to another swf.
The problem is that when I save the bytearray to a SharedObject in user's local file, the second swf doesn't get the updated variable value from the first swf.
I've set the second swf to retrieve the value every one second and it don't get updated until I reload the page.
I flushed and close the connection to make sure the data is saved on the local path and that is not helping as well.
I also considered using LocalConnection as well but there is a bug in flash player for mac that stopping it to work between swfs on mac. Left me no choice but to use SharedObject for my project.
I'm trying to loop through each of the arrays stored in a Shared Object and place the individual array items inside rows of textfields. This isn't quite working - it fills all the text fields with the last data array only:
Code: var elemSharedObject:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("elementChoices", "/"); //Load data into fields for (var prop in elemSharedObject.data) {
[Code]....
I need a way to increment "elemSharedObject.data[prop]" after it's filled each successive row of textfields.
i am trying to develop a multiplayer game using the flash media server. Currently i can get multiple users to control one shared object but i need to have 2 users controlling seperate shared objects on the same stage.
I'm using Flash and AS3 to write an app for iOS and for Android and I'm saving XML-data using shared objects. Now it struck me that when I supply an update to the app store and the user updates the app, will the shared objects remain intact or will they be replaced? I'd very much like them to remain as they were.
I would like to get the content of a shared object (flash cookie) generated by a player, or more precisely by quizzes generated by Articulate Quizmaker.I know where is generated that cookie, I just would like to get the content of a variable inside. But impossible to access it :sI tryed :
var user_so:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("nameOfTheCookie"); if(! user_so.flush()) // sends a boolean, true if the cookie exists {
I have a Flash Form that is fairly long (about 8 short pages), so I have set the form up so that it can be reviewed when the filler-outer is done and they are ready to submit it. I'm using a Shared Object to store the information they enter so they won't lose their information if they hit refresh or need to come back later.
If they go back to the page with comboboxes on it, the comboboxes have reset to the default. The answer and data in the SO haven't changed, but it looks like it to the consumer/viewer.
So, I'd like for the boxes to display the choice they picked when they were on that page. I need use the value from the database to show the particular value in the ComboBox whenever the user returns to that page.
