I have an XML driven Mp3 player with a "download" button that appears when song is highlighted. I just need to call the text from xml and add it to the URL: See sample of player
this adds the name of the mp3 to the end of the url but I need it to add text from a child in the xml called "siteurl" instead.

I am using a Flash AS2 template for a PayPal shopping cart on my site. As the code is now, a new shipping charge is added to the buyers total for every item added. I would like it to have only 1 shipping charge, no matter how many items are added!

It works fine. However, I notice that the header in the XML file <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?> get's replaced with <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>

ok.. so i have a static text that says "QUIT TO MENU"..i set it to "no anti-alias" for a crisp look...i put it inside a movieclip so i can dynamically call it from the library..i exported the movieclip for actionscript and gave it a class name of "QuitToMenuButton".....so i call it from the library using:

I called the variable firstname.When they move to the next page, I used a "dyanamic text" field so I can call them by name on this page. It works. However, When I test the game, on the first page, where the firstname is input, it shows_level0.firstname instead of just a blank space for them to input their name. I know I fixed this in the past and it was something simple, but I can't remember how to do it
View 5 RepliesI have got working well. when a value less than 18000is added to the rvalue input text, the raterelief_txt message appears. but then if i add a different value over 18000 the raterelief_txt stays and the yousave_txt, pound_txt and results_txt appear as well. what I want is for them to disappear according to the value.

I have been looking around for a long time to find a way to create a dynamic text field added to stage using as3 that is arched.I have seen this done in other sites but have had a hard time figuring out. Does anyone know of a component other than Text2Curve that is available? Has anyone already written something that arches a textfield that they would share?Arched text in flash seems to be impossible.

when text is added via radiobuttons it displays.as soon as i get over 7 lines a scroll bar appears -as more lines of text are added (via radio button click) the scroll bar moves down - HOWEVER------The scroll bar is not completely at the bottom - its one line up, so you have to scroll to see the last line....I have tried everything.maxVerticalScrollPosition, verticalscrollposition etc..

what "this.stageRef = stageRef" is actually doing. I used it because it was in the KeyObject class description that I have downloaded from Senocular.
I made a textfield, and applied a textformat to it, but whenever i try to change its text to something else outside of "addChild(myText)" it just removes the text completely.

I need to access the textFeild every time the timer fires so what am i doing wrong? HOw do i keep refrenct to the text field?

If the validation of MyValidator has errors a red frame apears around the BorderContainer as intended. But unfortunatly the error text that should apear right to the form item doesn't. I'm thinkin it's a layout problem because I define the validator inside the form item content before adding it to the form. I've already debugged this and read documentations a lot.
I create a button(MC) and want to duplicate it and easily change the text inside this button... basically I have an mc that acts as a button so inside the mc I have text that I added that animates on mouse rollover. Now I duplicate this mc in the library go into the mc and want to change the text, and when I do, the text in the original button also changes. This happens because the text is a Tween so it's using the same tween from the library for the new button. Is there a quick way to avoid this? I don't see anyway other than typing in the text again in the new button and animating it again.

But when i set some text in it when user performs some action, like textfieldName.text = "test" then the event does not triggers. View 2 RepliesI am trying to create html links from a external xml file to be dynamically added to a text field (im using flash builder)the process i am having trouble is: -Loading an external swf which contains the textfield loading external xml which contains the cdata with links adding the cdata to the htmltext property of the textfield the link is showing correctly, the mouse turns into a hand... but when i click on the link it doesnt work. i have seen a few forum posts similar to this problem but all are using textfield control in flash builder but im trying to add the cdata into an externally loaded swf which holds the textfield.

This comparison in triggered when user is pressing the button.In Action Script 2.0 code I noticed that a caret return character () was added at the end of the string coming from the input text field.It is easy to overcome the problem obviously, however I would like to understand what is going on. I've created a 'flashvars' tag in my embed code (aid=test), which I simply wish to add to the end a GetUrl statement, contained in within a button (which is on the first level of the flash movie). This is the code I've added to the button...
