I have some songs in the same folder as i have my .fla file. I call the .mp3 file on the first frame and i want to be able to pause it or stop it when i click on a button. I would appreciate the code for that. Or maybe any other suggestion on how i should add music to my .fla file.

I have an .mp3 file which is supposed to be embedded in the timeline. Since it is 6 minutes long, it not practical to run it streaming on to the 7,200 frame. Consequently, in order to get it to run I have set the property to Event rather than sound. Also I have set it to repeat 99 times. How can I put in a volune control, or mute button. Can anyone help as I am quite new to this.
I call it a hiccup because the code works; but it's backwards. When I hit the audio button it plays the music and when I hit it again it stops the music. I wish for the music to play automatically when you enter the SWF and then you hit the button to mute the music if you wish; and then hit the button again to play the music again.

how to change this on my 'flash template' and how to successfully mute the background music as my VIDEO starts to play.

The background music is set as per TEMPLATE that I got. I would like to add a quicktime movie to the website, under the page titled "TRAILER" - and have tried to do so myself by adding the QUICKTIME to the project through another SWF that I got elsewhere (a different 'template' so to speak).

I'd like to be able to stop the background music when the viewer visits the TRAILER page of the site, as that is when the trailer starts to play. The music can stop abruptly, that is fine.
I'd like for the music to continue to play (either from the start, or where it was stopped) when any other pages are visited after watching of the trailer.
I have a small problem I want to mute the music when a person clicks on the video page so they dont have to manually click the speaker to shut the sound off to hear the video. As well when they leave the page I want the music to continue playing. The music does not have to start over again, I just want it to mute while on the video page.
I tried using this: SoundMixer.soundTransform = new SoundTransform(0);
But it even mutes the video sound.
And I tried this: SoundMixer.stopAll();
It does kill off the background music, but I dont know how to turn on the music again when you leave the video page.
I prefer to use: SoundMixer.soundTransform = new SoundTransform(0); as it is easier to work with and you can adjust the volume as you like.

i'm trying to pause and/or mute a sound, with little success.i've found out that something like 'sound.play(pausePosition)' might fail on sound-clips with low sampling-rate.however when i try to mute a sound with a 48000Khz sampling rate it simply won't work.
i've tried both -
soundChannel.SoundTransform.volume = 0 - and - SoundMixer.SoundTransform.volume = 0
however both won't mute the sound and when traced return 1.
im using this player [URL] for my site and i am also using [URL] i have 2 instances of advanced player in one page and the backround player. I want to pause the other players when one of the 2 advanced players are playing, something like that: if myadvancedmp3player1 is playing (if i press the play button), pause myadvancedmp3player2 and pause backround_music. if myadvancedmp3player2 is playing, pause myadvancedmp3player1 and pause backround_music
Is there a way to disable/enable the buttons in FLVPlayback component? I got a flv files loaded into a fla file and the swf file then loaded onto the main fla file which where I want to disable/enable the FLVPlayback button at certain time.
I have a site that loads an external mp3 player. Now I want to pause the sound when the "video" button is pressed. In the mqin swf file, there is a movie clip called "MP3_Player", in that clip is the loaded mp3 player. I'm extremely new to Flash and I am making a website and want to have a single button that when pressed pauses or plays a music file. I was able to create one that works by following a tutorial that I found online but the problem is that the button is on the main timeline so as I move away from it, it stops working. I think that it would work better if I was able to make a movie clip out of the button so that it doesn't sit on the main timeline and will keep working no matter where I am on the timeline. All I need is one button that pauses and plays music when pressed. I also want to be able to have a "music on" line of text and "music off" line of text depending on whether the music is playing or not.

I have an issue with my videoplayer i can't seem to fix. When the playVideo functions is called I need to pause the music player.I tried some possibilities but flash keeps giving me an error.what I need to add to pause the music player when the video player starts and let the music continue when the video player closes ?

I'm trying to make a simple music player with only one button for Play & Pause the music. What I have now is a MovieClip with:
1st Keyframe: active state for play Button 2nd Keyframe: active state for pause button 3rd Keyframe: hover state for play button 4th Keyframe: hover state for pause button
The script works OK, and play and pause the music without problems as expected.
The problem comes after the second click in the play/pause button when the alternance between two states becomes chaotic. The button never returns to the play state although the music was paused.

How can I get the pause button to stop sounds and music, and the play button to start them up again? As of now, it only stops the animation, and lets the music continue.
I just need something simple, where there is only pause, play and stop buttons. I usually load the music within the flash movie and play from there, but I would like to build one where if you press play, the music loads and plays streaming on the spot. I have got a couple of more complex streaming style mp3 players but I would like to use a simplified streaming version. Any recommendations or code that I can just add to a button?
I made this music video, and now I'm trying to give is some UI controls. I have a play and replay button at the start and the end. But I want to have a pause/play button available to users all the time. I know how to do that for one object at a time, but I have around 80 layers. How do I make it so it will pause the whole video (including the music) without a billion lines of code?
I've downloaded the the Flash mp3 Player. I did some minor modifications to it and it works well. The only problem I have is that when the mute button is pressed, the current song is mute(s.setVolume(0)), but when the next song comes up, the mute button is not in mute state(Volume not set to 0). I want to keep the mute state unchanged when the songs are playing untill the mute button is pressed again.
I want a site to have background music, but when I attach the music to the file it makes it quite large ...3 meg and the site is slow to load. Is there any way of having the music separate from the flash file and still have start stop music buttons?
