ActionScript 3.0 :: When The PlayVideo Functions Is Called , Pause The Music Player?
May 30, 2011
I have an issue with my videoplayer i can't seem to fix. When the playVideo functions is called I need to pause the music player.I tried some possibilities but flash keeps giving me an error.what I need to add to pause the music player when the video player starts and let the music continue when the video player closes ?
var my_songs:XMLList;
var my_total:Number;
var my_sound:Sound;[code]....
Everything works perfect but i need to change the way the MP3 file is called on. I'm brand new with AS3 and XML but have a PHP background so I attempted to understand the script and have not had any luck. The index.htm file displays a very simple music player which calls on the button_mp3_player SWF. The FLA has a portion of code that calls on an XML file to load a particular song. What I need to do is remove the XML file completely and define the MP3 file name in the index.htm. I assume some AS3 code needs to be altered so that it does not call on the XML and also that the index.htm code needs to be altered to define the MP3.
At the moment, I am attempting to make a music player that will play a specific song of my choosing. I am stuck at the part where you can pause the sound, and then play it in the same place. I have tried many things such as using the timer utilities. Right now, when I pause it, it stops, and when I press play, it plays from the beginning. stop(); var channel:SoundChannel; var soundCheck:Boolean = true; var song:Sound = new Sound(new URLRequest("song.mp3")); channel = song.play(); [Code] .....
I'm trying to make a simple music player with only one button for Play & Pause the music. What I have now is a MovieClip with:
1st Keyframe: active state for play Button 2nd Keyframe: active state for pause button 3rd Keyframe: hover state for play button 4th Keyframe: hover state for pause button
The script works OK, and play and pause the music without problems as expected.
The problem comes after the second click in the play/pause button when the alternance between two states becomes chaotic. The button never returns to the play state although the music was paused.
This is the code:
/**** Objects and Vars ****/ var AutoPlay:Boolean = false; var isPlaying:Boolean = false;
I just need something simple, where there is only pause, play and stop buttons. I usually load the music within the flash movie and play from there, but I would like to build one where if you press play, the music loads and plays streaming on the spot. I have got a couple of more complex streaming style mp3 players but I would like to use a simplified streaming version. Any recommendations or code that I can just add to a button?
I'm trying to make a simple flash mp3 player with a play/pause toggle button called toggle_btn. The button is actually a MovieClip with two buttons inside it: play_btn and pause_btn, which live in different places on the MovieClip's timeline. That all works fine, and when I press the play/pause button for the first time, my music plays as expected.
However, when I press it again to pause, it keeps right on playing. If I push it again, the button gets all glitchy, and doesn't go into its rollover state when it should nor toggle when clicked.
Here's my ActionScript:
Code: // load the playlist var getFile:URLLoader = new URLLoader(new URLRequest('songs.xml')); var numSongs:int = 0; // number of songs in playlist -- we'll set this later
I have a series of calculations i'm doing over a bunch of objects stored in a array. Each function is pretty CPU demanding but if you only run one function, it just works fine.
I have a site that loads an external mp3 player. Now I want to pause the sound when the "video" button is pressed. In the mqin swf file, there is a movie clip called "MP3_Player", in that clip is the loaded mp3 player. I used this method to call the mp3 swf file.[code]Now what path/s do apply to the button in the main swf file to get the music to pause.
I'm extremely new to Flash and I am making a website and want to have a single button that when pressed pauses or plays a music file. I was able to create one that works by following a tutorial that I found online but the problem is that the button is on the main timeline so as I move away from it, it stops working. I think that it would work better if I was able to make a movie clip out of the button so that it doesn't sit on the main timeline and will keep working no matter where I am on the timeline. All I need is one button that pauses and plays music when pressed. I also want to be able to have a "music on" line of text and "music off" line of text depending on whether the music is playing or not.
'm extremely new to Flash and I don't really know how to code yet.. I'm making a website and want to have a single button that when pressed either plays or pauses the music file. I found a tutorial that worked but it has two buttons (one for play and one for stop). You can see the tutorial here:[URL] I'm hoping that someone can tell me how I might be able to change the code so that a single button acts as both play and pause (i.e.; If music is not playing then play, if music is playing then stop).
This probably is not possible however its worth a try! Would there be anyway to trace out the functions that are being called by the SWF? for example.[code]I know you could simply add a trace into the actual functions but thats not an option!
How can I get the pause button to stop sounds and music, and the play button to start them up again? As of now, it only stops the animation, and lets the music continue.
Is there a way to do that without using a bunch of "if" or "switch" statements, like shoving them all in an array?I have a rough idea of how it would work, but I have no idea how it would look in code.And just to clarify,I mean an order than can be changed.Otherwise I wouldn't need to think about this at all.
How would I go about evaluating an array of strings as function calls?Something like this:
ActionScript Code: var my_mc:MovieClip; var myArray:Array = new Array("function1()", "function2()", "function3()");[code]....
I get an error "Instantiation attempted on a non-constructor".In this case, I'm trying to dynamically add linked movie symbols from the library. Perhaps I'm going about this the wrong way... ?
I have a function that I want called when different mc's are rolled over.
img_hover = function (n){ _root.icap = _root.i+(eval(n))+_caption;[code].....
The "n" is an interger (ex. 1-200) that I need passed to this function with the rollover of an mc:
on (rollOver) { _root.img_hover.apply('1'); }
I can't get this to work. I'm not sure of the proper way to pass the n value to the function in the img_hover.apply() code.The function should produce the following (ex. with n=23):
img_hover = function (n){ _root.icap = _root.i23_caption; _root.idate = _root.i23_date;[code]...........
I made this music video, and now I'm trying to give is some UI controls. I have a play and replay button at the start and the end. But I want to have a pause/play button available to users all the time. I know how to do that for one object at a time, but I have around 80 layers. How do I make it so it will pause the whole video (including the music) without a billion lines of code?
Imagine I have Class A that is listening to an Event on Class B. This listener will call Method X in the Class A. Inside Method X, "this" refers to the Instance of Class B, I'm not in the context of Class A. Isn't this a bit awkward, or am I getting everything wrong? Is there a way to make the listener call my method in the context of A?
I currently have a class that has a method that creates new duplicates of a clip on the screen, changes some of their properties (such as color, and text display), and then arranges them in a straight column.Inside that method, I have some clipEvent Statements for each button.
I have 2 functions. Each one is being called by a different event listener. Both event listeners work because I am able to trace strings in both of them.. my problem is that i am trying to create a variable that is local to both functions. The first function "working" adds a number to the variable and when the second event listener triggers function "notworking" which retrieves this same variable called "counting" both functions are called automatically by event listeners.. how do I do this? i am stomped!
I started making my first complex game and ran into a problem that made me just stop everything I was doing and I have laid the project to rest until I can find out how to fix it.The problem is simple. I have a timer in a public class. The timer is private, but the function to start the timer is public. Only one class calls it. But as soon as the program starts, the timer function executes.Now that aside, why are some public functions being called at the time of the program being executed? The class that executes the function isn't even called until later/instantiated.
in my application, I did some trace statements of a file For example if(oldFile.parent.toString()!=file.parent.toString()) There are some other file print statements , and it seems to encounter this error stated below. But the error does not appear every time. For example i ran my application for 20 times, it will encounter this error once. Error: Error #2037: Functions called in incorrect sequence, or earlier call was unsuccessful. at Error$/throwError() at flash.filesystem::File/resolveComponents() at flash.filesystem::File/get parent()
i think i might be missing some information here about how to manage classes and display objects. In the main .fla i have a mc called player; so I made a player.as class and put a linkage on player mc considering it would work as the mcs class. Well, its not working, the mclip is not noticing any of the vars and functions i added in the class. Anyone figures whats going on? How to make it work?
I have some code that is connecting to a radio stream and it playing the music. That much works... I also have a little dropdown box which lets the user switch the stream... Whenever I try to switch the stream, I'm getting this error...
Error: Error #2037: Functions called in incorrect sequence, or earlier call was unsuccessful.at flash.media::Sound/flash.media:Sound::_load().
Code: private function changeStation():void { sound.close();
I have tried to modify that block of code, but I can't seem to get anything to work...
I'm a relatively experienced Web developer, but this is my first foray into playing (streaming) music. All of the music players I've run across either load MP3s from an XML file (which exposes the MP3s' URLs) or have code embedded in them that loads URL-accessible audio files. Due to copyright issues, this is not acceptable for my client's content.So, I'm looking for one of two things...(1) A music player that already exists that either plays music embedded into the FLA itself -or- can read the files from a non-public area on the file system, or(2) Sample code that generally approximates what I'm describing, from which I'll try to construct my own player.
I'm doing a site in JOOMLA and i want to add music to the site. For example if the user stop the music i want the music player to be able to stop the music and not reload the song if the user go to the next page. If the user dont stop the player, i want the song to keep playing if user go to the next page.in which way i can do this? i heard about adding some kind of cookie script to the flash player.
