I've got an fla with over two thousand movieclips in one frame. Each movieclip does not have an instance name. way to control each movieclip individually? For example, rotating all movieclips 45 degrees?

I'm trying to instance a button that I've made in a for loop. Everything else works, but I'm having a problem with mousing over and out. I was intending to make it so that each label would respond to its own instanced listener, but instead only the last label is responding to the listener. So, no matter which button I mouse over, only the last button's label animates. It seems like something that's simple, so I'm going to continue trying to work with this.

I've made a pretty complex button thats actually a drop down menu. So when you mouse over the button, it opens the drop down menu, but the actual button is also clickable. The problem comes in when I copy the button like 4 times. I can make the main button go to different links, but everything inside the button,i.e. the drop down links, changes across all copies whenever I modify one. How do I go about making each button a different separate button so that I can modify each one individually?

I have to convert that long decimal number to a RGB/Hexadecimal number in Javascript. Do you know how I can extract the individual R, G, B & A values from a long(8 digit) number? I have a mainmc on the stage. I have another extarnal mc called buttons_mc. When i use loadMovie and load that external mc, the loaded mc's AS2 doesnt seem to run when playing within the mainmc.
Is it possible that a loaded mc looses all its variable values when it comes into a main clip ? Or is my problem lying in the fact that the root paths of all the clips inside button_mc have to be changed to suit the main clip's hierarchy ?
I am attempting to combine two AS files that are acting as cellRenderers individually but not simultaneously for cells in a datagrid in a Flash document I have created. The first styles the cells to have alternating row colors and the second allows for non-text content to be rendered. The issue is whenever I attempt to combine them the document reports errors with "super" and "override" among others.

I have got two movieclips on the main timeline. First one is envelope_mc and second is bg_main. In envelope_mc timeline there is a button on 25th frame which plays ahead when clicked.

I have also got some animation on bg_main which I wan't to trigger on 30th frame (inside bg_main timeline) when button is clicked in envelope_mc timeline.
I have 2 movieclips on the main timeline of my movie; One (mc) contains an animation, the other (bt2) contains a button (bt) with code. I want it so when the button (bt) is clicked, it causes the animation (mc) on the main timeline to play.
The button's code is contained inside bt2.

... along with several other things. Nothing is working at all, and I spent all last night looking for a solution with none in sight.
I've a basic portfolio page with 5 links. The idea being that 4 stay small and the active page is a larger font. When one link is clicked, itself and whatever font is currently large both swoop down and then the large text is replaced by whatever section the user chose.
I haven't keyframed anything, it's all done with actionscript and here it is. I made one of the links show what the var is currently set to in a dynamic text box. That all seems right. But whenever the 'currentchoice' mc is asked the swoop down, it just disappears rather than animates out. Here's the actionscript.

View 1 RepliesI've created some animated buttons (using movieclips of keyframe animation) and when the mouse goes over the button it starts a new animation sequence.now I would like to add some text when the mouse goes over the button but I tried adding the text I want to a new layer of the animation but obviously this just plays for the duration of the animation sequence or if I add another keyframe so it only shows for a short time then it will flash up each time the sequence loops around (I don't want the overstate sequence just to play once - I want it to keep going while the mouse is over the button)
