ActionScript 2.0 :: Create Image Rotator In Flash That Is Powered By XML

I'm trying to create an image rotator in flash that is powered by XML that just continually rotates through the images (fading into an image and fading out, and then fading into the next image, etc).I've managed to load the XML file and get the location of the image files for each image:[code]and I've managed to load the last image in the XML into a movieclip by putting this line:imageHolder.loadMovie(myImage[i].attributes.image); under the var imageURL = myImage[i].attributes.image line.I can't work out how to:
1. Display one image at a time instead of just the last image in the XML file
2. Fade in and out between each images (I was trying to use Tweenlite to do this and think I can get it to work once I know how to do the above point)
3. How to continually repeat through all the images.

I want to put a flash banner(slider) to show a bunch of products iteratively. And I want it to allow interaction so the user can interrupt image looping and choose what she wants to see and what images to show how long it will be shown should be configurable. I already googled for 'flashe banner / slider' but with no luck. Is there any open source projects that can offer this kind of feature? Or tools that can help me to create one.

I want to create an image rotator that looks similar to the one in the upper RHS of joinred dot com. I'd like it to have images that are a bit bigger than the one on that site. However, I like the thing about them coming in from the right, as well as the effect, being a bit distorted and then becoming clear.

I am a web developer (CF and ASP.net) working on a new project. I toyed with flash back around the beginning of Flash MX around the early 2000's. Basically I am looking for direction on this -- I would like to have a small flash movie that displays a collection of pictures with some sort of transition. Ideally, I would like to pull the image paths from a database and rotate through them at some time interval. This seems like something that shouldn't be too difficult - and I am sure it has been done thousands of times - I am surprised I cannot find more information through google searches. Maybe I am not keying on the correct terms!??!? Anyways, If anyone could provide some direction - I am hoping that I can pick it up with a little push. Having not touched flash in 7 or 8 years, I am kind of stuck getting started.

I've found this xml driven banner rotator here on Kirupa from Mr. Daytripper.It's great (with preloader, xml controlled transitions, speed, urls) but I need to be able to add additional control with a 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 buttons that would jump to image 1, 2, 3 or 4 and maybe pause/play.I've added the buttons but don't have any idea how to control the arrays/variables.
I'm attempting to make it like a standard banner rotator like you might see on the homepage of Target.com, Bestbuy.com, but honestly the code is a beyond me.

I am trying to create a news rotator that pulls info and images from an XML file.I made something similar a while back which pulled just the headlines which worked great and I am trying to adapt this same idea to a current project. pull all the info from the XML and push them into separate arrays based on the type of information it is. ie title, description, image etc.From there I have a function which is supposed to display the all of the info and another which cycles through it based on a timer.Like I said before, this worked great with just the headlines, but when trying to add images its getting thrown off. The function which intends to parse the data and pushing it into separate arrays.

I'm currently developing a prototype using AS3 and trying out some touchscreen gestures. I'm compiling using AIR 2.0 and currently have GESTURE_ZOOM and GESTURE_ROTATE working but for some reason GESTURE_SWIPE is giving me a few headaches. I know It's possible as I've seen it working here, using the same laptop (DELL LATITUDE XT2 & N-TRIG) as I'm testing on.

I am looking for a non XML driven Flash banner rotator, something where I can load my images into the FLA and publish. The only rotators I can seem to find have external XML/image files, etc. All I want to do is create simple SWF's that I can use to display rotating images preferably is a smooth and stylish manner. Does anyone know of any, or could point me in the right direction?

i'm using a joomla-backend and am trying to create a flash frontend for my site. I'm using amphp to connect with my mysql-data, so i fetch the necessary data for the topmenu: buttonname and url.
Now i create buttons that i've animated with motiontweening. See script below.
My 2 biggest questions are:
- how do i add the textfield containing the buttonname?
- how do i get the buttons to link to the correct url?
i did manage to get the buttonnames displayed via the addChildmethod simmilar to the creation of the buttons, but that did screw up the mouse-events.

I'm developing on Flex 4. I have a datagrid container and custom itemrenderer with a text field, a button and a few boxes. Every time some data is displayed, the app stalls for a second or two before rendering completely. Is there any way to make it render more fluidly or render one after another...?

So im opening it up to the commuity as a programming challenge!!For something which i assumed would be very simple, writting a robust and solid multi turn spinner handle for flash in as3 has become the bane of my life.Feel free to download my attempts so far (attached), which cover the basics of a single rotation, and make it look like im further ahead than i actually am.The difficulty lies with the very specific things I personally need the spinner to do,and the fact its SO HARD to explain..Its actually used to control a piece of animation that is 72 frames long.I need the first "lap" of rotation to send the playhead to frames in the 1-36 range and the second rotation to send it to frames 37-72. So two full spins would take it to the final frame, one full spin would go half way to frame 36.
Problem is the rotator handle needs to be locked at the initial position, so a user can't drag it backwards to start with but can drag it backwards once theyve moved forwards. (think of turning on a hot water tap, many turns in one direction until it stops fully on, then the same turns back again to reach the original start position of fully off)I also need the rotator to be able to be used in anti clockwise and clockwise modes.The ideal is to be able to set the total number of animation frames to be controlled and the number of rotations required to reach the final frame, then have the spinner work everything else out for me.

URL...as you can see ive uploaded everything possible to do with the banner rotator with a little help from a guy on this forum. (if your veiwing in firefox the site may look messed up) and it just stays loading for ages and doesnt eventually load.and if anyone knows the code so my site can be viewed in all screen resolutions without having to slide across at the bottom.

I have been looking over the internet for a while about this, but it doesn't seem like there is any information available specifically related to captcah and flash.
My purpose is to create an image up-loader on flash, and implement "recaptcha" on it, so the upload is controlled.
I know that some people will say, "well you can't automatize flash input so you don't need captcha in this situation" even though this is somewhat true, there is still screen macro programs that could potentially make the computer upload hundreds of pictures if there is not something in place to avoid it.
I thought of implementing my own captcha but that seems to me like i would be reinventing the wheel, can anyone point me on the right track for this? or suggest another approach to avoid abuse on my image up-loader flash?

I have a banner rotator / slideshow with 30 swf's. I have an xml file driving the lideshow. My problem is that I have video pop-ups in each of the 30 linked swf's and a geturl in each of the swf's. I need to be able to drive this content from the xml file. Is that possible? to read an xml file from a linked swf?
