ActionScript 2.0 :: Ease Bar Stay Where It Is If HitTest Is False When Scrolling?
Dec 17, 2003
I have a scrolling MC beneath a mask. I have a little bar that eases to the mouse when the mouse is on the scrolling MC using hitTest. That way no easing occurs when the mouse moves off the masked MC.What I am wondering is: is it possible to have the ease bar stay where it is if the hitTest is false when scrolling? So if I move the mouse off the scrolling MC then the ease bar just sits. Right now if I scroll, the scrolling MC rolls beneath the ease bar. I would like for the ease bar to scroll with the MC.The scrollling MC is made up of duplicated movie clips and I can't figure out how to target them (for the hitTest) otherwise I'd just put the ease mc in the scrolling MC.
im using the hittest code from senocular to make a menu fade out. it's working but i was wondering if someone could explain how i could add ease to the alpha. i've tried implementing some of the ease codes found on here but havn't had any luck
1) a sprite with a rollover/out tween, going from alpha 0 to 1 on rollover, and back to 0 on rollout (let's call it "containerSprite"). That part is cake.
2) another sprite within the container (let's call it "closeButton"), that goes along for the ride (i.e., its alpha gets tweened along with the container). That's easy enough to do by making it a child of "container". When I say it is "within" the container I mean in terms of x/y.
3) when I move the mouse within containerSprite and onto closeButton, I want the container to stay visible (easy enough by setting mouseEnabled or mouseChildren to false). But I want closeButton to respond to mouseDown events, so I can't set it to mouseEnabled=false, nor can I set containerSprite.mouseChildren=false.
4) there will be several other sprites within the x/y of containerSprite, each with their own rollover/out tween. The catch is, when the mouse is within containerSprite and rolls onto one of them, the alpha of containerSprite SHOULD tween out (unlike when rolling onto closeButton).
For the life of me, I cannot get it all to work. I can get the desired behaviour in (4) easily enough, either by making the other sprites (mouseEnabled) children of containerSprite, or by making them siblings of containerSprite but higher in the display list. But the desired behaviour in (2) and (3) is vexing me: if closeButton is a child of containerSprite then its alpha tweens along with containerSprite (desired), but because it must be mouseEnabled, moving the cursor onto it triggers containerSprite's rollout event (undesired). If instead it is a higher sibling of containerSprite rather than a child, it has the same problem: if it is mouseEnabled, moving onto it counts as a rollOut event for the container. It seems like the solution ought to be easy, and I'm just missing something that is in plain sight.
I can't get the hit test (true) to work on a clip that animates (all it does is grow in size). If I set the hittest to false so it just reads the box of the clip, and not the shape it works just fine. The clip in question is simply a circle.
I'm trying to create a scrolling game in as3. The problem I'm having is how to make things like explosions and rockets firing from the ground at the player object to scroll with the background instead of staying stationery with the player object during the game. Does anyone know a simple method to keep the explosions and other stuff not connected with the player object, to stay scrolling with the background?
I have a movieclip that is scrolled by means of a 'sensor' on each side of the stage. The clip scrolls fine in both directions, however here is my problem:When the users mouse leaves the stage, the movie clip stops dead in it's tracks, and this does not provide a nice smooth effect. Looking at the code below, is there any way I could tell the animation to ease out when the users mouse leaves the stage rather than simply stop suddenly?
class Sensor extends MovieClip { public function Sensor() { }
I need to set a mouse-controlled scrolling animation to ease when it starts and when it stops in AS2. Here's my current onEnterFrame script. Might be a little crude, but it succeeds in starting and stopping the animation when the mouse rolls off the movie. Moves left on one side and right on the other. I just want the starting and stopping to be eased a bit.
I have a scrolling MC that moves L&R according to the mouse position L+R of center and I need to create a hit area using actionScript's hitTest so that it stops scrolling when you aren't over it.
I just made a scroll area with buttons and draggable items. All the code is written for vertical scrolling, the content I need to be scrolled is going to be horizontal. how can I rewrite this code to be horizontal scrolling? it seems like the scroll button (the one you drag along) doesn't stay confined to its scroll line either.
Is there a way to increase the ease in and ease out effect? It will only let you choose -100 to 100, and I've messed around with the length of the tween, and the FPS of the movie, but I want the acceleration to be greater.
I have a simple motion tween from fr 1 - 52 (x and y property movement only). I create a custom ease - standard 100 ease in and then a 100 ease out. When this ease is applied to the motion, the ease "happens" after fr 52. So the object does not stop until fr 63 (eased out at 63. How can I get the ease to match / ease out to the last keyframe on 52, rather than 63??? See the attached image of the motion editor.
I am trying to display database details in a Flex datagrid and connected using HTTP Service. It was able to display details without any issue when I was working in the FlashBuilder 4.5, however, I deployed the bin-debug part in the Tomcat webserver to access it globally.
I am experiencing this error message when I am trying to access the swf file "HTTP request error Error: [IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2032"]. URL: http://localhost:8084/UA/details.jsp"
I tried to create the crossdomain.xml file and deployed in the root directory but still experiencing the same error.Here is my crossdomain.xml :
<?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "http://www.macromedia.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd"> <cross-domain-policy>[code].....
I'm trying to get a prototype working for a website.
What I would like to do is have five buttons at the bottom of my stage, and when I click them, an image fades AND eases in. I have this part finished so far, but the issue is that when I click another button, I want the previous image to fade/ease out before the next one fades/eases in.
Here is my code:
Code: Select all import fl.transitions.Tween; import fl.transitions.easing.*; import fl.transitions.TweenEvent;
Selectedcolor, true to the text true or false is false text into print.colorPicker component in, I select Export to a selected color, the color value myMC texte into summer, but accuracy can not control.
var myColorPicker:ColorPicker = new ColorPicker();myColorPicker.editable = false;myColorPicker.visible = false;myMC.visible= false;myColorPicker.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickHandler);myColorPicker.addEventListener(ColorPickerEvent.CHANGE, changeHandler);[code].........
i just would like to know how to create an "hitTest" script inside a movieclip that is actually part of that hitTest code?I mean... I have mc A, and mc B. and the current hitTest code im using (that is on the timeline) makes mc A, destroy mc B when collide with it... but there are many mc B on the stage (with the same instance name) so, when mc A collide with one mc B, it destroys ALL mc's B... but i want it to destroy only the mc B that he collides, not all the others... maybe an hitTest script inside a movieclip B would work (somethig like "if MC A hitTest ME = i die" (not all the others)).
i am controlling a tractor mc with right and left keyboard keys and let the user move the tractor till it reach a certain point where it touch a mc i want to go to a certain frame and stop the keyboard event listener and also the hit test listenerso finally the tractor is moved by user till it touches the mc then we will jump to a certain framethis certain frame will not have both of the tractor and the mcPHP Code:
I have a spark List with an item renderer and a tile layout. If I scroll by clicking with the mouse on the scroll bar and trying to scroll with the mouse wheel after that, there is a problem: The interval of the scrolling is oversized, instead of scrolling one item down (or up) the List scrolls 4 items down (or up).
Im making a scrollable mc. Easiest thing in the world.... but the damn scoller just will not stop when the movie clip it's scrolling ends. It stops....eventully... but not close enough. What actionscript do I need to use and where do I put it?
I have created a vertical menu that scrolls through menu items in a movie clip.There is a big white gap when the movie clip runs out, and it snaps back to the beginning.I would like it to scroll seamlessly, having the end join up with the beginning again without any space.I would like it to scroll to one end of the list and STOP, and scroll back the other way and STOP - without any white space.URL...
This is a repost, but I've still not figured out a solution. I have a Flash movie that appears on a webpage. The Flash contains scrolling content ( scrollpane, text field, whatever).
The containing webpage is tall, and therefore also has scrollbars. My Problem: When users try to use the MouseWheel to scroll through my Flash scrolling data, the browser page scrolls as well. It's very annoying.
I would like to be able to have the MouseWheel scroll my Flash scrolling content when it's over the flash, but scroll the webpage when it's not over the Flash.
Does anybody know a way to supress wheel-based browser page-scrolling while my mouse is over a Flash movie??? Is there a way to eat/stop propagation, whatever, of the wheel event in the brwoser, either from Flash or from Javascript?
I have been working on a site that will display a portfolio for a friend of mine who is a photographer. I want to have thumbnails that can be scrolled on the bottom of the page, and an area where the thumbnail is presented when selected. I have the thumbnails appearing. I have them loading, however, I can't get them to scroll when the mouse moves to the left or right of the row of images. he file can be viewed at...[URL] Here is the code I used for the slideshow:
I have been wondering how to do advanced ease in and out between three frames. What I have been trying to figure out, is when using the new tween function in cs4. So what I do is i make a simple animation of a ball going from point a to point b, and apply a ease in and ease out.
now with that in place the animation works great.now if i want to make the ball go to point c with and ease in and ease out. the ease in and ease out is now applied to the whole animation intead of being able to have 2 seperate ease in and ease out for animation from point a to point b, then animation from point b to point c.
is there anyway to make it so that i can multiple ease in and ease out for these frames?
i have a mapMC on the stage and 6 buttons. i need to be able to make the buttons move the mapMC to specified coordinates. the coordinates are set and will never change. i also need an easing from one location to the next. i guess i'll go ahead and throw in a bonus question for any of you aces out there. lets say location "A" is at x=200, y=400. i would like the mapMC to get there and scale 120%. so a button that gets pressed will go to its coordinates and scale acordingly. i can see that this could be script heavy, but for some reason not too difficult.
on a project in Flash CS4 for Windows. I have an object on a layer that moves separately at different times of the animation (all one large motion tween). I'm attempting to apply an ease to just one leg of that motion, but instead, when I choose an ease setting in the motion editor, the ease is applied to the entire tween (so it affects the stationary frames too!). Is there a way to apply an ease to a single span of motion instead of the entire motion tween?Alternatively (if it's not possible), is there an easy workflow for breaking-up a motion tween in to separate motion tweens while maintaining the position of the object in between the motion tweens? (I don't want to use the frame-by-frame animation conversion option I've seen.)
I've been using animation applications for about 20 years now and, for whatever reason, Flash CS5's ease in/out feature has got me stumped.
I have a simple text Movieclip that comes from the left, off stage, and moves to the right onto the stage and stops. I want to ease it so it slows down to a stop.
I'm using Flash CS5 with the new tween.
When I click on the tween in the timeline, the ease property in the Properties Inspector doesn't give me what I want. If I put 100, it comes in and stops hard. If I give it a -100, it slowly accelerates to full speed and then stops suddenly.
I've read the tutorial for the new Motion Editor in Flash and it doesn't work like any other motion editor I've used, including Adobe's own After Effects. Normally, you would just click on the graph's line and then curve it with a pen tool or right-click on select bezier...
I'm creating a thermometer with the mercury animated as donations come in. I haven't touched flash in a long time, so be gentle.
How can I change the code below so the animation is faster without increasing the framerate?
var maxMercuryHeight = 192; // Mercury height at 100% var currentDonations = 80; // Percentage of donations taken var currentHeight = (currentDonations / 100) * maxMercuryHeight;
[Code]....
How can I make the animation ease out so it starts fast and slows down at the end?
