ActionScript 2.0 :: "if" & "else" - Command The Website Clip To Appear On The Stage?

I have some problem with a website that I am trying to make... On this website, I have 2 movieclips. First one called "elearning" and second one called "website" (I mean the istances names).Each of this movie clip runs trough an animation of 20 frames splitted in 2 parts. So it starts from frame 1 and stops at frame 10. Than a button will command it to run trough frames 10 to 20.What I want to achieve is that if one of the two clips is on frame 10, than the button should command one clip to go from 1 to 10 end the first one from 10 to 20. To explain better, this clips, appear on the stage on frames 1 to 10 and disappear from 10 to 20.So lets say you click on the fake button of elearning It will command the elearning movie clip to show up.
Than you click on website. This button should command the elearning clip to disappear ( and so to go from frame 10 to 20) and at the same time it should command the website clip to appear on the stage.But if the elearning clip is already hidden, it should stay hidden.I have tried to write this piece of code but it does not work. Cause when I click on the website movie, it will command the elearning clip to go from 10 to 20 anyway, and it does not check if the elearning clip is hidden or shown.

Does this command exist? I can't seem to find it. I want to basically reload a movie clip on command, and I'm debating taking that part and putting it into an external .SWF file and unloading and reloading it, but that seems silly..

Can I add a command to a frame within a movie clip, to jump to the next frame on the main timeline. I've uploaded a very basic .fla, which is two keys and two locks on two frames. What I need to be able to do is move to the second frame on the main timeline once the red X is placed on the black X.

Ive been working on my flash site, and was using the tutorial on transitioning different swf's from the main timeline, and the code it uses for the transitions to work are for Button instances, while i made my buttons in the movie clip way. Is there a code to fix it so it will load an external swf from my movie clip instead of it being a button?

I would like to use the rewind command inside a movie clip, with buttons or movie clips inside on the timeline with motion tween. this is reasonably straight forward.
But when i test the movie the buttons are not selectable as it is covered by the movieclip they are in.
How can i get these buttons to work within the movie clip. here is the code that goes on the first line of the actions layer. ( can be found in the kirupa tutorials).

I've inserted a flv video ( from Import to stage) on the 1st fotogram( my homepage), and then I've extended it for 24 fotograms( because I set at the beginning 1 second = 25fps).If I play the video (with the play button of the "flash prebuilt player") without stop it and I'll surf toward another page the sound still playing, how can I fix? I mean I'm in the homepage, I start the video with the play button on the "flash prebuilt player" and if I don't stop the video and I surf towards another page the video disappear but the audio is still playing on the background. Which command ? I've try with stopAllSound(); on the fotogram 25 but it doesn't work and the audio is still playing.

I don't really know that much about Commands in Flash, but I was thinking this could be a possible Command to create.See, I have this puppet made up of dozens of separate pieces, all on their own layers.It's very tedious to click on 10 different symbols in order to move the character's arm, for example.I was wondering if there was a way to create a JSFL command to select each of the 10 symbols on the stage.
I tried clicking each one, and saving the "Change Selection" actions from the History Panel as a Command, but that is location-based.As soon as I move those symbols to a new location, the command I saved no longer selects them.And I can't select the objects by layer or frame, because it doesn't seem to want to save those either.

I have a movie clip that runs in its own timeline. I want to stop the movie clip from playing whenever the mouse is clicked (in this application I am actually using a touch screen and I want the movie clip to stop playing whenever the screen is touched). In addition, I want the movie to rewind back to frame one so that none of the movie clip images are left on the screen.

I have an app that has 3 movie clips, serving as buttons (mainbutton[0], mainbutton[1], etc) I use the addchild method to add these clips to the stage (the clip base element is in my library).I then create an empty movie clip:

I then add some movie clips to this clip: using a for loop:

When I click the button on the stage - the code with the for loop runs, and adds clips to the navGroup clip, and then to the main button. But the stage and the items on the stage shift down a few pixels. This happens on the first button I click. If I click some other button, the stage shifts up (with the items etc.), but if I click the last button, no shift occurs. If I go back to the first button I clicked, the stage will shift down!
I traced the coordinates for the stage and the buttons, but their numbers all stay the same, like x = 0, y = 0, etc.The items in my library all are movie clips, with a 0,0 reference point. The three main buttons are on the stage at x=16, and y = the height of the button plus 10 pixels for space between them, added to the first button's y pos on the stage. like button1, x=16, y=100 and the height is 32 pixels.

I have sevral buttons on stage and I'm trying to draw a rectangle under them. My problem is that the dynamically drawn recatngle is always on top.
Is there a way of having the rectangle under without having tu put another clip on stage ?

Just finished building my photography portfolio www.tonerayphotography.co.uk in Flash CS3 using some Action script 2. When I first uploaded the site in Firefox 3.5 the menu buttons were `stuck` and there was a delay of about 30 secs before I could use them. Once I finally got use of the menu buttons I later returned to the site and it worked perfectly. Is this because the site was now in the cache of Firefox?
On my stage timeline there is one navigation movie clip holding aboutl 50 of my photos. Is this delay due the size of this movie clip trying to load?

I'm having the following problem. The menu movie clip on my website keeps blinking when I publish on the web. I don't have that problem when I'm testing on the CS4 flash player. I've gone over the code to check for something funny but everything looks good. May be this looks familiar to somebody. Here is the url.

I was at a friend's house and wanted to show him our website. When I navigated to it, about 10% of the area outside of the stage was visible. It was almost as if the swf had been shrunk by 10%, but still within the stage area (750px x 600px). I'm not sure what's causing it, but I've seen it happen once before with a computer here at our office.
It always seems to happen with Internet Explorer. When we right-clicked on the swf and choose "show all" it filled the area and looked normal. I've never encoutered the problem using Firefox and only some of the time when using Internet Explorer. Not sure if it just happens with a certain version of IE or what.[URL]..

I am taking a beginners Flash course and our final project is to create a movie/website in Flash. 100% Flash based. In a previous course, I made an HTML site. For this project, I am recreating that website in Flash. But what should the stage size be? That is where I am stuck. I don't know what a normal Flash site size should be to fit the screen like a normal HTML site.I already know to havethe dimentions set to 100% and 100%. But for some reason, when I use Control > Test movie, it never seems to fit right. It's either crunched together to much or spread out to far to where the header and footer are partially off the screen. I've seen posts on the web from years ago that said 950x550 is the size needed. Is that still the case? Because it just doesn't look right. With HTML the page height would adjust to the content and it would automatically scroll if needed. But Flash doesn't seem to do that. It seems that you are stuck with 1 size and you have to work around it.

I am looking to create a site (or part of a site) that is similar to the following links (which both contain panning movie clips with interactive elements within them). One of the keys to this is that it does not pan until you get to the extreme left or right portion of the screen, so that folks can have an effortless (and un-annoying) experience. Anyways...I have done a TON of research online and have found some stuff, but nothing that has really fit what I'm looking for. No more rambling. everything is working well with the exception of the background image/stage. Whenever I preview it in a browser, the site gets stuck in the upper left corner. I need it to automatically resize according the to viewers browser size. How do I do this? From what I've seen online, it involves possibly putting everything in a movieclip, which I can do, I just don't know how to proceed from there.

So for the first time I imported a video clip into Flash 8, used the wizard and even found a tutorial that basically walked me through the steps of the flash wizard.I imported a clip from my computer, progressive download from web server, tried both encodings of flash 7 and 8 medium,SteelOverAll skinning,the let flash do its thing, set my publish settings, published, tried it out and played SWF, looked fine, then uploaded the SWF, FLA, HTML and FLV on my web site but all it does is "waiting for .... .com", my website.I double checked in different browsers, Internetexplorer, Mozialla, Chrome, all having Flash Player 10 latest version and the FLV file is only 1.2MB big, yet after 10 minutes still nothing playing back online........did I overlook something here?

when you play the short clips the sound of the site keeps playing in the background and the sound of the video plays over the top. Is there anyway to stop the website music when the clip starts to play and when stop or the clip finishes the website sound starts to play again. So you know what I mean the website is URL...
