Professional :: Area Outside Of Stage Shows Up On Website?
Apr 29, 2010
I was at a friend's house and wanted to show him our website. When I navigated to it, about 10% of the area outside of the stage was visible. It was almost as if the swf had been shrunk by 10%, but still within the stage area (750px x 600px). I'm not sure what's causing it, but I've seen it happen once before with a computer here at our office.
It always seems to happen with Internet Explorer. When we right-clicked on the swf and choose "show all" it filled the area and looked normal. I've never encoutered the problem using Firefox and only some of the time when using Internet Explorer. Not sure if it just happens with a certain version of IE or what.[URL]..
I downloaded a XML based website flash template and made some modifications to it. With this template there was few fonts included in separate folder (I had to install them to view swf and edit fla correctly) after all my mods done I published it to swf file and opened local file with browser, everything was working perfectly at this moment. Then I asked my friend if it could upload it on his server to check if this website looks the same on the web. I noticed that text (which is written with custom font that was included) is either missing or misplaced
I am taking a beginners Flash course and our final project is to create a movie/website in Flash. 100% Flash based. In a previous course, I made an HTML site. For this project, I am recreating that website in Flash. But what should the stage size be? That is where I am stuck. I don't know what a normal Flash site size should be to fit the screen like a normal HTML site.I already know to havethe dimentions set to 100% and 100%. But for some reason, when I use Control > Test movie, it never seems to fit right. It's either crunched together to much or spread out to far to where the header and footer are partially off the screen. I've seen posts on the web from years ago that said 950x550 is the size needed. Is that still the case? Because it just doesn't look right. With HTML the page height would adjust to the content and it would automatically scroll if needed. But Flash doesn't seem to do that. It seems that you are stuck with 1 size and you have to work around it.
I'm making a mockup for a client and I need to Load the .swf with the exact stage size so the graphic elements do not float outside the loaded movies stage area. [URL]Basic load code I'm using...
how to create an area on my flash website that is editable by others? I'd like them to be able to add photos online. So... a photo album type thing?how to achieve this? I'd like to have the uploaded images specified / limited area space (eg.75 pixles x 75 pixles) so the user could see it online after it's been uploaded. I use flash 8.
If you have a design created in Flash and there is some content on the pasteboard (off-stage), it shouldn't appear in Flash Player. However, when you maximise the flash player window, it does
I'm trying to build a secure login area on a Flash-AS3 website. I've managed to create the login form and pass data to a PHP script which checks them.
1) I know that in PHP I can echo some infos that can be get from AS3. In this case I suppose to echo something like "success" or "failed" to give an answer to the login attempt. Is this way of communication secure? Can anybody sniff this content and force AS3 to behave like if login was successful?
2) Suppose that PHP-AS3 communication has been secured. What should I do now? May I simply show admin pages hidden before? Is it the correct way? Is it secure?

basically I want to load an external SWF into my flash file, which I can do just fine, but when I load the swf in, it loads EVERYTHING in the swf into the new flash file...What I want is for it ONLY to display the contents on the stage. I work with large images that span way beyond the stage...then I move the images and when I export the swf it looks like a camera zoomed in and tracking around a large image. BUT when I load the swf into another flash file, it just loads it in with no regard to the stage...how do I get it to JUST load what I can see on the stage? here's my current code:
button_1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToLoadUnloadSWF); import fl.display.ProLoader; var fl_ProLoader:ProLoader;
When the page for thsi site [URL] loads the background behind the flash document is white. Is there a way to change this so that it matches the page background?
I am working on a site, and I have an issue that I cannot resolve.
Here is the link: [URL]
If you click on the "Issues" link, you will see a slideshow comes up.
If you click on the "Campaign" link, you will a page come up with links on the side, and a bare space to the left.
In the blank space, there is supposed to be a slideshow to come up. When I test the site on my computer, it comes up perfectly fine. But, when I load it to the server, it does not show up.
The ONLY difference in these pages is that the "Campaign" page is a scrollable page, where as the "Issues" page is not. I have tried to resize the scrollable page, and move it to the right side of the page, but it makes the text unreadable- even after resizing the box, and such. I have tried to change the slideshow into a symbol. I've tried a couple of other things, but to no avail.
I'm using windows Vista 64 bit (work machine, not personal) with Adobe CS5 production premium. I have this training I created in flash and it used to export just fine.I was able to test and everything, but lately, it stopped doing that. I hit CTRL+enter, and it won't give me a SWF file. I hit debug it says it can't find the swf. I looked in the folder where everything is for the training, and sure enough, there is no SWF file there. I tried hitting CTRL + enter and watching the folder. The SWF file appears while the export progress bar is going, but the second the bar is done, the file vanishes. For a while, if I went into File and hit Export Movie, it worked, but even that's stopped working.
I have my flash doc. and I used a mask to give it rounded corners but you can still see the stage color. I am new to flash so I can use the help. How do I get rid of this or can you even do this?
I have a Flash website with 5 sections (Featured Work, News, About Me, Services, Contact). All the sections works fine, both in Flash and on the server, if the content isn't loaded from XML. But in the News section i use XML for loading the news.If i test my movie in flash, the whole site works fine, and the XML News works perfect. But if i test the movie in a virtual server (like MAMP) or if i test it on my own server, the news section doesn't show.
the place holder is the only thing i see when I check online i have folder with images and swf and xml list there is not express instal file and I dont know how to obtain it I do not know how to show my code here and I used dreamweaver to insert the swf
I currently have an small animation job that involves an enormous zoom out. To do this I need to scale the symbol containing all the animation out in the main timeline, from extremely close to quite far away.
I have two problems that are preventing me from doing this satisfactorily.
Firstly, the transform panel doesn't work. Specifically, entering scale values only seems to work beween 0 and 100%, anything larger gives unpredictable results.
Second, the symbol has become too large for the work area (I have zoomed out as far as I can go) - how can this area to spread out to the whole of the graphic editing area, instead of the third of it that is on the left side?
For example, I have used the Free Transform tool and scaled the item up 2500%, and now it's too big for the limited work area. To scale it further, or scale it back, I need to enter scale amounts into the Transform panel. After doing this, the figures I enter turn into arbitrary other values and my symbol either warps or disappears entirely.
Ideally, I should be able to look at the stage itself, click on the symbol, scale it in the Transform panel to 3000% and be done with it.
Once again i'm a bit lost XD. The deal is, that i'm making a dynamic "blog like" news viewer, so, when i got more than 2 news (sometimes even with one), all the rest of the news get out of the stage and are not seen.
I have been reading methods about changing the stage size but the question is here, if i manage to change the stage size, all the content will be scaled too, isn't it? That's exactly what i don't want.
then, how do i change the "view area" of the stage.
I am having an issue with my recently created flash site. I have loaded and tested this site on many different computers. There is a preloader which shows percentage of site loaded and bytes loaded. As far as I am concerned everything works great. When the owner of the company I designed the site for goes to check out things he gets an infinite load percentage and the site never shows up, only the preloader screen with an "infinite" percentage. The only difference between his setup and mine is he uses AOL online.?
Built a nice Flash page and exported it to use as a web page (didn't export to HTML just exported image to SWF). Plunck it into DW CS5 and test in FF & it looks great. Try it in IE8, only get a white page, same in Chrome & Opera. What gives?
I am facing some problems with publishing of flash file. After publishing at HTMl; it shows white border at all sides of document. My document size is Width :- 1280 Height : 650. It is adding border on all sides border at top and bottom are greater than that of Left and Right. I have tried it many ways, altered my flash setting as well but no use. I am really stumped due to this. To my surprise at SWF file it showing perfect match and fit exactly into window (not showing any borders like HTML) I dont know exactly from where it is getting white borders. My Publish Setting Are as follows Flash :-
I am brand new to flash and AS3, and everything else code related. I've built a simple file with text and audio. The audio is an external file, and it plays with a mouse click. Everything tests fine in flash. I also placed the file in Dreamweaver and previewed in a browser - that's working. But... I've now uploaded the file to a live site. The text shows up but it doesn't play.
I have a mini-game where I have three movieclips:The player (controlled by mouse); A random object that moves around the stage (like the arkanoid ball without the paddle and the blocks); A simple power up.The game is simple: hitting the power up increases your scoreThe game ends when the object hits the player. The question is:How can I spawn the power-up (randomly) on the stage area, every time the player hits it?When that happens I want the following events to occur:1) The power-up to be removed;2) Increase the score by 1.3) Place a new power up randomly on the stage.4) Rinse and repeat.
I would like to export a specific area of the stage. So, for example. My stage is 400 x 400 and I would like to export only 100 x 100 of the stage at xy 0 pos.
I want to load some mcs randomly on the stage, except for a footer area at the bottom of the stage. Is there a way to exclude just a certain part of the stage using something like Math.random()*Stage and then specifying the bottom 300 pixels as off limits?
I'm using the whole stage because the swf is embedded 100% across the browser, so I can't restrict the dimensions.
Code: onClipEvent (load) { x = this._x=Math.random()*Stage.width; y = this._y=Math.random()*Stage.height; }
I can still create the video and the files and it all works in dreamweaver when I preview in iexplore. When I put the files and the page into the host server it shows the skin and no video. If my paths are wrong I do not know where to check them. I need help MY whole career is on hold until I know how to do this like clockwork/ I need step by step with creating and changing paths and uploading using cpanel or dreamweaver. getting the files made and uploaded is easy part. I have been here before and cheers to the help. I really need an in depth answer about how to do this from start to finish. I have looked at all tutorials and they all make it seem so easy but dont show anything on paths. If my video works in dreamweaver but not online live what is wrong? I am lost and on edge lost many weeks of sleep over this simple process.
For my college project I've created buttons were when you roll over images they are enlarged. The problem I have is when I roll over the images, the one next to the one I want shows in front of the image that I'm scrolling over with the mouse. I want it so that the image being rolled over is in front. For example when the magazine article on the far left is enlarged it goes behind the logos next to it instead of in front so you can see clearly what's being scrolled.
