My website will be basically selling services; will my SEO ranking still be affected if I embed the Flash site in a blank html page? I am at that critical point where I am ready to upload the site but I am just having second thoughts about the ease of doing business with Flash.
I have a fla file with as3 (1000x700px) with multiple layers ; navigation to different pages and I would like to attach a scrollbar to each page.How can we do this?
I have been using the evt.updateAfterEvent() whenever a mouse is clicked.Is it possible to call an update on the entire stage to remove any pixels.which are no longer being used?
I have to make a site in flash and I would like to have the feature of being able to change the color of the entire site. A little like skins or so... I want like 4 colours to choose from, and when you select a color, the background, and other shapes and graphics will change. What will be the best way to go about this?
I've made a website, [URL]. the stage size is 1000x590. this is big enough for most screens. but some small ones or if they have large amounts of toolbars, cut off the top and bottom of the stage. so what I want to do is, if some parts get cut off, I want scroll bars to appear so you can scroll and see all of the site. it seems to have been done on the [URL] website.
What is the largest XML file that can be loaded into flash? I have a 14MB XML file that I'm trying to load into flash. It gets to the listener function that listens for the Event.COMPLETE event fine, but in there when I try to set e.target.data to an XML variable I get an error that says one of the tags doesnt have an ending. I know for a fact that it is a well-formed document. So I'm assuming it's cutting some of it off. Is there a size limit for xml files?
So, after just being dumped on from a great height by our development company I need to create an entire site in flash with login and dynamic addition of content etc etc.. What would be the recommended maximum size (pixel wise) for a flash site... what I have here is 1600px sq? It's mostly database driven so shouldn't lag too much from a point of view of file size, I'm just concerned because of the short deadline and I find this kind of large size wise to do 100% in flash..
I was wondering if its possible to make a website fall asleep when the focus is shifted away from the entire window.... so something like onBlur. I've seen this on a few websites and I got thinking how they did it. I'm guessing they have some kind of JavaScript code in their HTML page that can detect an onBlur or killFocus or whatever you call it - then the flash movie picks up on this and takes the appropriate action - like pauses a movie or displays a message "please come back" or things to that effect.
EXAMPLE: Go to [URL] and go to the WANDER AWAY section and click his links. Provided you have enough "money" (you can earn "money" by navigating around) you'll be taken to pixel ranger etc. Now click on the [URL] window and you'll see its been greyed out and is "asleep". You have to click the movie to awaken the site.
I have a FLV playing in Flash with a full screen button. The problem is I want only the video to be shown full screen, not the entire stage. This is the code I'm using to make the video fullscreen.
function fullScreenUP(event:MouseEvent):void { if (screenCheck == false) { stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;
I have a fullscreen flash project.Basically what I need to know how to do is resize the stage height and mask everything to the new height (I have a full page scrollbar, and it scroll to over 2x the height I want. And the height will change with each section)
The problem is, it wasn't tested well, and the stage is too big - on low resolutions or on small screen you have to scroll in order to see the lower/upper sections.I know how to resize it with HTML, but I just want to know if there's a way to scale the entire stage and all of the contained items from within flash?
i have a script that creates a trail effect (i had to decompile an old swf, after losing the original fla file - so there are a few 'loc' refs in there) - what i want to do is rather than this being applied to the entire stage i want it to be masked and only appear within movieclips with the mask.there are a couple of stage references but i can't seem to change the stage refs to the mc name/s.how can i rewrite it to only work within an mc (or mc's) rather than the entire stage? also, i can place normal mc's over the effect - but the masked mc's don't work at all.[code]
I would like to create something similar to this: and only need a few things to complete it.What is missing is to make the whole flash movie (the white area, including the watches and cursor) move from left to right and right to left depending on the movement of the cursor (round circle) .. Panning effect I have attached the file i am working on..maybe that makes it easier to understand
I have an swfLoader that loads a flex swf. When the flex swf is loaded it takes up the entire stage, this does not happen with a swf of the same dimensions created in flash professional.
Lets say I have 3 MovieClips. One that is animation that represents animated overlay of entire stage. Like falling leafs (for example) One that represents character One that represents background I want to make character to be MouseEvent.CLICK interactive. The problem is when I create a particle Animation of falling leafs the single leaf that is an instance of MovieClip blocks Character mouse Interaction. Is there a qay to fix container that holds the particle animation of Leafs so that it will not block Mouse Interaction whit mc below?
i have a problem using AS to send some variables to a PHP form.when i click on my button the entire movie unloads from the stage. let's take a look to the AS of the button:[code]
I am taking a beginners Flash course and our final project is to create a movie/website in Flash. 100% Flash based. In a previous course, I made an HTML site. For this project, I am recreating that website in Flash. But what should the stage size be? That is where I am stuck. I don't know what a normal Flash site size should be to fit the screen like a normal HTML site.I already know to havethe dimentions set to 100% and 100%. But for some reason, when I use Control > Test movie, it never seems to fit right. It's either crunched together to much or spread out to far to where the header and footer are partially off the screen. I've seen posts on the web from years ago that said 950x550 is the size needed. Is that still the case? Because it just doesn't look right. With HTML the page height would adjust to the content and it would automatically scroll if needed. But Flash doesn't seem to do that. It seems that you are stuck with 1 size and you have to work around it.
How would I do to sort this array by the largest sum and not just the first number? var myArray:Array = new Array(100, 200, 9); myArray.sort(Array.DESCENDING) //puts out (9, 200, 100) How would I do to get it (200, 100, 9)?
Context: Making a guessing game where up to 20 users guess times. A countdown timer script runs at the game start. As time goes by, flash compares the guess with the real time, moves a movieclip (horse1, horse2 etc) along the x axis and displays an integer (time between the guess and ever changing clock [horse1.displaybox1, horse2.displaybox2, horse3.displaybox3, etc]). This is all working.
How to I display the current closest guesser?
I TRIED to avoid arrays, but doubt I can. JUST learning about arrays and for loops, but found this elegant code to find the max number in an array (or with modification could get the min):
maxValue = function (array) { mxm = array[0]; for (i=0; i<array.length; i++) { if (array[i]>mxm) {
i have 2 arrays, a and b... in array a i have a bunch of random numbers.... now i want to loop through array a find which of the elements is the largest. for example if a[4] is the largest number in the a[] then i want b[1] = 4 and so on....
//array a full of random numbers: a[1] = 4 a[2] = 3 a[3] = 1
[code]....
so if a[4] is the bigest, b[1] will have 4 and if a[1] is second biggest, b[2] will have 1 and so on... is there an algorithm that can do this for me with an array length of X?
I am looking for a way to sort numbers enterred by a user, prefferably in order smallest to largest or vice verser - but at very least to find the smallest & largest numbers of the ones enterred.There are approximately going to be 15 numbers or so.
So for example:
Enterred A = 56 Enterred B = 7
[code]...
when sorted or the other way round (largest to smallest).this could be done with comparrisons but for 15 numbers it would be A LOT of comparisons.
I have my stage set at 500px x 500px. I have a map mc on stage that is 2500px x 2500px and I am trying to mouse scroll the entire map mc inside the bounds of the 500px x 500px stage. The map mc xy ref coordinate is in the center of the graphic. This is a math problem for me. An example would be [URL]
I am trying to figure out how to move a "mc" when the mouse moves across the entire stage.Assuming we have an image within an "mc" which is larger from our screen resolution how can we move it so that we can see the whole "mc"?I' ve started playing with a piece of actionscript found on the web but still can't make it work properly.
I have 2 websites both built entirely in flash.My problem is that I have created a button on 1 of the sites that has to link to a particular scene and frame within a different flash website.
