i tried, using the flash, php, mysql integration tutorial but i can make the text come out of the flash.i check my sites.php and its able to generate the data from the database.i followed the procedure exaclty but i cant make the text come out.

1) I can't figure out how to have URL links in the text that loads.
2) How can I make the scroller refresh to allow for new text in the dynamic text area. The content changes alright, but the scroller stays in the same position and if it wasn't needed initially, the scroller disappears and doesn't return on new text.
I have many text elements in my flash file - how do I modify the text to make it all caps? Is there an easy way where I can select all of them in one go and make them all caps?

I have made a flash project which provides a UI for the user to input some text. The user can change the color, size, style of the text, and now I want the text move like a marquee in HTML. I have upload my .fla.

I'm using CS4 and AS3 with a few multi-line dynamic text boxes beneath one another. When I populate the top text box I would like it to automatically push down the other text boxes beneath it when the content flows on to extra lines.
At the moment it only wraps to the gap that is between each text box but then stops when reaching the text box beneath. Is there a property to allow for this (I've worked in Silverlight and there was on controls there) that I can just set or will I have to manually implement this and call functionality to re-set all the controls y properties each time I change the text in the text box?
Say, i have a text field with some text in it, and i want to make it have a backgruond with alpha value (as in partially transparent, not sure how to make it sound good ^^). This text field reacts to mouse events, such as clicks and rolls out/over, and each event changes the background color.
I've done some digging and ran across flash.text.TextField.backgroundColor and flash.text.TextField.background properties of text fields. They're cool, but not enough to solve the problem. And obviously, if I change the text field's alpha value, the text will also become transparent.
I know I can create a movieclip below the text field and alter its properties to acheive my goal, but I'm wondering if there is a simpler way.
I have a map of the US and each state has a rollover that changes the color of the state...what i am trying to figure out is how to click on the state and have text appear to the side of the US map and have that text stay up until the user clicks on another state.

For some reason if I insert an object like a movie clip or button in the scroll box, it appears in a different area when I publish the file so I can't use that option for links.
I need to be able to highlight the text and then program it to jump to another frame label.

This is what I want to do: I have a blank title that I want people to complete: The (something) of the (something) (something) where people select words from lists to complete the title. I also want it to be centred on a mock book cover. The problem is that I can't work out how to make the whole title into one variable, which I can them place on the cover. Going by the tutorials I've seen, it should be something like:

1. The old main logo was not as wide as the new one, so now the entire new one is not clickable (to take you back to the main page). How do I fix this?
2. For the life of me I can't figure out how to make text (or a button if need be) link to a specific flash frame. If you look on the site, there are a couple of spots under "What We Do" that I need clickable to take them to the Contact Us page.

But because of vector>bitmap conversion when 3d roationing, the scroller fails to works. I know the stratDrag method fails to work in a 3d environment. other than using PV3D or so ? cause I don't know how to work with PV3D, it's just tooooo complicated to get it for me.
View 1 Replies-this is supposed to make multiple buttons with text(not clickable yet) -it seems to coppy over, or remove the previous myButtons[i] movieclip each time it goes through the loop. -there are 3 strings in buttonText.length -on the output i get 0,1,2 -but on the screen I only see one gradient (its only a pink box, but one problem at a time) -the box appears where roughly the 3rd button should be. -full code attached

I scroll it auotmatically with AS but it appears that whenever I make the text scroll Flash automatically throws in a background (on the text) and I can't seem to turn it off. I have an image behind the text so I need the background transparent. Any ideas?

By the way, i want to have a button and a label on a flash form, when the user clicks on this button the onclick event will call another function 'setText for example' this setText() function will change the label text. I'm looking for the best way to be able to have a user input their name, age, etc, and then place that data into a Flash Story book, to make it personalized. For Example:Name:_____Age:_____BOY/GIRL:____and then for example if the user decided to Enter: (Cooper, 7, Boy) the story would add those variables, so it might say:"Once upon a time, there as a 7 year old boy named Cooper, who lived in flying shoe."Ideally, I would want to be able to have the text auto format so that it looks like a seamless paragraph, no odd line breaks or spacing issues no matter how long the name they entered was, so for example if they entered "Cooper" or "Cooper William Johnson III", either way the text would still flow correctly
