ActionScript 2.0 :: Move Clip - Stop After Sound Has Played Once
Jul 31, 2008
I am trying to play a sound clip using actionscript 2 the code I am using is attached to a button and the code I used is the following.
[Code]...
My problem is that the sound clip loops and I do not want it to do so. I have other animations going on on the stage. I tried to place the stop(); command but I do not seem to be able to make it stop after my sound has played once.
My swf works with scenes. In the 1st scene i build a sound object :
PHP Code:
mysound = new Sound(); mysound.attachSound("thesound.wav"); mysound.start(0,loop);[code].....
but when i move to the 2nd scene, the sound stop looping... I could restart it using _root.mysound.start(0,loop) but it would restart the sound when you move from scene1 to scene2 so cut it up in the middle and restart which isn't so nice..
What I want to create is a group of 13 images and upon rollover each image would make a different sound. I don't want the sound to stop once you move the mouse though because I want a few different sounds playing at the same time. At this point I don't really care whether they play for their whole duration or just for another 15 seconds! I'm doing this for Uni and the guy said it wasn't that hard.
I have some basic knowledge in HTML code, but I am a complete newbie to flash. I've downloaded Flash C5 and that's about as far as I've got! I'm not entirely sure which template if any I would need to use. I can't pay back in knowledge since I don't know anything, but I could bake you cookies?!
I have a flash header that was never completed because the guy I hired took people's money and ran. So now I even wonder if what he said could work with my flash header is true or not. But, usually there is always a way to make it work.
I have a flash header that does two important things: 1) Upon entering the site, it loads and plays an audio track 2) Makes an animal noise when you hover over each animal menu item. (not sure if I'm able to give a link to it or not on here. If I able to and someone would like to see it let me know)
I want to know if my flash header can support the following additional functionality/changes:
1) Currently, it loads everytime a page is selected. I only want it to load the one time of entering the site because the audio gets annoying. Set a cookie maybe?
2) But, I do not want to turn the audio off completely because I still want the hover over each menu item sound.
3) Have a link on it to allow them to select to turn on / off the sound completely. It currently has that, but only for the current page. Once you select another page, the audio is back to on.
4) Lastlly, is there a way for it to detect that someone doesn't support flash and to display an html version of it? And can flash create a html version from my fla file?
I don't know much about flash (but am learning) so I'm not sure if I'll be able to do this myself. However, I want to find out if my flash header will even work this way before I invest the time learning it just for these changes. I know it will be pretty deep with script code, but I'm hoping I could find base code already available for these features. Not sure I can afford help now because of being laid off and two different scammers taking advantage of me. So I'm going to try to do myself and see if there is any suggestions/support on here that can help. I have Flash CS4.

I have a movie clip called Lion Beginning_mc, inside of it I have 3 Key Frames and Inside each and one of them I have different shapes. For example:
Key Frame number 01 - Dog Key Frame number 02 - Cat Key Frame number 03 - Mouse
I want to move this movie clip "Lion Beginning_mc" form Key frame number 1 to Key frame number 20.I want the Dog,Cat and a mouse to change between each other only once while moving from Key Frame number 1 to 20.And then when the movie clip "Lion Beginning_mc" reaches his goal another movie clip or a frame (with a shape) will start.
I have multiple movie clips with different sounds in each movie.
My movie clips are placed across the main timeline of my movie.
I have a "Next" and "Back" button on the main timeline that jumps me from frame to frame where each movie clip is placed. Everything works great.....but my sounds from the movie clips are running together.
How do I stop all sounds in a movie clip from the main timeline when I click either the "Next" or "Back" button.
I have a background sound on the main timeline and I do not want to stop this sound.......so the StopAllSounds function is not working for me. I just want to stop the sounds in the Movie Clip when I click the "Next" button.
it isn't such a big problem bur for a beginner like me it is.I have a movie clip called "Lion_beginning_mc", inside of it I have 3 Key Frames and Inside each and one of them I have different shapes. For example:Key Frame number 01 - DogKey Frame number 02 - CatKey Frame number 03 - MouseI want to move this movie clip "Lion Beginning_mc" form Key frame number 1 to Key frame number 20.I want the Dog,Cat and a mouse to change between each other only once while moving from Key Frame number 1 to 20.And then when the movie clip "Lion Beginning_mc" reaches his goal another movie clip or a frame (with a shape) will start.
I have a sound clip called "wing" in main time line. Inside main time line I have movie clip called "shell" inside that another movie clip "perform" inside that have another movie clip "engine" with a sound clip "panel"
i have 2 movieclips: i want to move both of them but the second movie clip will only move if the first clip reach his final destination how do i do that?
I have to play a sound file and show the progress of the sound file being played. I am using import flash.media.Sound; import flash.media.SoundChannel; But the PROGRESS event gives theprogress of loading of file. I want to know of much of the song has been played and how much more is left.
I have a multiple choice quiz that needs to have a sound played with each response. So if the user selects the correct response, they get the ding sound. If the user selects the incorrect answer they get a buzzer sound.
I am creating a quiz in flash using AS 3.0 I need the order of the questions to be in a random order which I have worked out how to do.I now need to make it so the questions are shown only one, I've tried looking on the internet but I've not been able to find anything that a: helps and b:
I have an MC with a lot of frames on stage and it has sound clips attached to each frame.
I need to stop the sound being played when I move on to another frame on runtime, thus, I need to access the sound object which has no instance name. Right now the sounds overlap since none of them stops and after a while all we hear is jibba jabba.
I'm creating kind of a pseudo RPG menu, and I just have the animation go to a different frame when you press an arrow key, backspace, or enter. I also have a couple of sound effects I wanted to play depending on what you press, but I am having no luck at all getting it to work, and everywhere I look online has very different instructions on how to go about it. Here's what I have just without any sound at all:
[Code]....
And then just different numbers based on what frame I'm on. As I said, I don't really know what I'm doing; a lot of this code was given to me. :/ So I know it's a lot to ask, but if I could get a very detailed explanation of what to do, If the sound could play before it switches frames, that would be best.
Problem is that the sound is played twice overlapping eachother (some of the mp3 is played first, interrupted, and then restarted again to finish fully).
I have a movie loaded into a header (which is loaded every time a new page is browsed). This movie spouts out a pop up window after 30 seconds then stops. This works except of course every page time this loads afresh it spouts out a new one.Is there some sort of way to check if movie has been played (say within a 4 hour period) and if it has not to play (do not spout out the pop up)?
When you put the stop(); action on a frame, does the frame's graphics get played before the movie stops, or does the movie stop before the frame's graphics are played?
I am just a rookie in Flash, and came across a problem. I'm trying to create a flash movie that will display time like a TV ident does. I've successfully set it up to get the correct time and play a "tik-tok" sound as each second passes. However, it is to have some background music, and I can't get it to start when I need it - for instance, if the time is 18:00:00 it should start at 00 seconds, it time is 18:00:21 it should start at 21 seconds etc. This is the script I used for ticking:
[Code]...
What should I use for the complex situation as described above? My only guess is that I should sync it to the frames in the background video (behind the clock, running at 24 FPS), but I haven't got a clue how to set that up as well. Can someone please help? If necessary I can upload the .fla file.
i am having some problems linking my mp3 player swf file to my website. It looks like it loads fine, and the buttons work and change the track of the song, but there is no sound heard or played. Here is the code i used to do this:
[CODE].....
As i said before, the player loads up and shows up on the website with no errorsand the buttons work (going to next or previous song as well as the pause and play buttons pausing and playing the music properly), but no sound can be heard. (this is being test on the latest version of firefox).
I imported Embaded Movie to Flash (that won't be on my TimeLine to save space), and i m using the FLVPlayBack to run it. My problem is that the player plays the movie too fast for displaying. Is there a way i can slow down the movie?
I have a flash movie that starts with an intro video, once the video has played a menu will appear, but I can't get the action script to go to another frame / scene / movie clip once the flv file has stopped playing
I'm using Flash 8 and I'm having an issue getting back to the main stage once a movie clip has played. I have my file set up with three movie clips on the main stage. One just plays which is the banner, there are two rollover buttons on that mc for panel1_mc and panel2_mc. When you rollover to view panel1 it plays fine, but inside I have another button to take you to panel 2. That wont work...this is what I have for code for the button inside the clip:
I suppose the title says it all. I can load an external video file (FLV) and I can have it play. I also have the custom buttons made to control the clip. The only thing I have left to do is to have the main timeline move onto frame 2 once the external video reaches its end. I am using actionscript 3 and flash cs 5.5.
so I have some buttons that, as of right now, simply trigger the scene to move on while at the same time killing some particle effect animations I have spawning when the animation is idle. What I now need to do is make these events move on to a specific scene AFTER the rest of the scene's animation has played out (about 400 more frames) I'm figuring that the gotoAndPlay command has to be tied to some sort of timer variable that I would have to figure out based on my fps. Or maybe there is a way to set up a timer directly tied to a certain amount of frames allowed to go by. I'm pretty noob at actionscript, so keep that in mind. Here is the script at the point where the animation pauses to await user input on the buttons:
I have a bit of a problem with sound.. I have a main container animation with background sound that's loaded with soundChannel..I also have an externally loaded SWFs with Movie Clip buttons that have a sound ON ROLLOVER on the timeline..after rolling off - I place the:SoundMixer.stopAll();to stop the button from playing the sound once the mouse is rolled off.. However, the problem I'm running into is that it also stops the sound of the main container movie cli
