But it has to stop the sound from playing twice import flash.media.SoundMixer; this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,f); function f(e:Event):void{ SoundMixer.stopAll(); } here is a link to my swf file [URL]
View 4 RepliesI want to play a sound on click of a button. I can do this in AS 2.0
//Action Script 2.0

how to play a sound when a user mouse click on anywhere in the stage?
View 1 RepliesI created a movie clip that I am using as a button. I created the states in the clip (up, down, over) and the graphics work, but the sound is driving me crazy. I have a rollover loop that plays and a special click sound on the down/press. On the mouseclick, I want the rollover loop to stop and the down/click sound to play. Also, a getURL is happening on the release. Basically, everything works, except you can't hear the down/click sound. All sound just stops on the click.THis is AS2. Here's my code on the first frame. In the clip/button itself, I have the states labeled, the sounds placed using the properties and a stop on each keyframe of each state.:
playa.onRollOver = function() {
playa.gotoAndStop("_ovr");
}[code]/.....
I have been trying to deal with sound attachment. Attached is the source file that i am dealing with(I deleted the sound files because the size is too big): Simply, i have to click on the objects first before clicking on the play button. Each objects i clicked represents a different sound and will be stored in the array. So i will be clicking the objects in sequence and when i click on the play button, the music will play. Now comes the problem with my coding, I was unable to let my music coming out one by one at the time in sequence.
View 10 RepliesIt's possible to play a sound file through AS, either by loading it from a folder or import it to flash. It's also possible to play a dynamic tone with flash.media.Sound + writeFloat.
But... is it possible to play a sound file with flash.media.Sound + writeFloat in some way? I want to play a sound file without having to deal with any files except the .swf!
I am building a flash interface and I would like a menu where it is hidden to begin with (just a tab). You click the tab to expand it, and click again to collapse it. I've made a movieclip with animation of the menu opening up and closing, but I can't seem to work out how I'd go about making the movieclip open and close properly.
View 4 Repliesi want to make a single button to play a sound, and if pressed again, stop the sound. and if pressed again, play the sound, and so on...
i know it has to be made with a boolean variable, true/false, but i just can't figure out how.
I have a test button i would like to have play a movie where a graphic expands. Once stopped, I would like to be able to click that same button and have the graphic go backwards. I would prefer to have timeline reverse, rather than lengthen the timeline of the mc because then i have to line up the start and end, and if one changes, i have to remember to change the other.
btn_test.onRelease = function(){ if (_root.adinstance._currentframe != 1) { while(_root.adinstance._currentframe != 1) { _root.adinstance.prevFrame(); else { _root.adinstance.play(); }}
[code].....
I'm having some problems with the code below. It may be something small that I am just not seeing. I basically have a drop down window and a button named btn1. The first click makes it pull down on the main stage, the second returns it to frame #1 by rewinding the movie. Well... It only works once, I need it to work multiple times, so I am missing something.
ActionScript Code:
on (release){
if (this._currentframe == 1) {
this.play();

I'm trying to add sound to some buttons. It's just a little metallic 'klink' sound that plays on rollover. I only want the sound to play on the 'Over' state. So I've set up a layer (just for sound) for the button and I add my sound in the 2nd frame (the Over state). Everything is cool. All is good. And the sound plays on rollover. But the sound also plays when I click the button (i.e. it also plays on the "Down" state). Why? The Down state keyframe is completely empty. What's going on here? I've only put the sound in the "Over" keyframe, why does it also play in the "Down" frame (or when I click)?
View 1 RepliesI want to use a sound loop in my flash movie. The movie has many scenes. And the problem is that when I go to next scene or different scene I hear the sound repeating twice. I mean sound does not stop from first scene and begins from the different scenes.Is there any way to play sound like "stop all sound" option in Flash.
View 6 RepliesI have to play a sound file and show the progress of the sound file being played. I am using import flash.media.Sound; import flash.media.SoundChannel; But the PROGRESS event gives theprogress of loading of file. I want to know of much of the song has been played and how much more is left.
View 3 RepliesI am new to actionscript. I have created a script that will play server side sound object and client side mp3 files alternately. Now, I would like to play the client side mp3 first then only play server side sound object alternately. However, I have no idea how can I do so. The following is the code that need to be swapped:

Using Macromedia Flash Professional 8.
I have a website banner made in Flash. I have added a music file to it and Play and Stop buttons. I also have a Replay button to replay the banner animation once it stops.
I have put the music on a separate frame so that it will not play automatically when the banner loads. I have made the Play button direct to the frame the music is located at so that when clicked, it will go to that frame and play the music file.
The problem I am currently having is that if I click the Play button more than once, it will play the music file again on top of the current play-through.
So if I click Play, the music will play. Then if I click it again, the music will play again, but on top of the first instance of the music, so two instances of it will now be playing and it sounds horrible.
I would like to make it so that if you click Play when the music is playing, it will not play the music again until the music has stopped.
I'm using as3, i want to have the GunShot sound play every time the player clicks the mouse. not sure how to make it work. the code i am using is

How can I edit sound from a timeline if I don't have the original sound file? When I right-click my sound in the library, I can't open it in any sound editor program. What do I do?
View 3 RepliesI have some code on my button that should play my sound file, but when I run my FLA, it shows an error. The error says, "Scene 1, Layer 'Layer 1', Frame 1, Line 1 1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: button1" Does anyone know how to fix this? I have exported the sound in actionscript but nothing?
View 2 RepliesI'm currently recording sound and storing the byte array for playback and subsequent encoding to mp3.
Unfortunately though I am getting a click sound at the very beginning of the recording.
I have attempted a couple of methods to try to eliminate this such as:
recording the first .3 seconds with mic.gain = 0; then setting mic.gain = 50; clearing the byteArray after the first .3 seconds then continuing to write the bytearray (in effect deleting the first .3 seconds of the recording.)
Neither of those methods has stopped the click being added.
how I can prevent the click from being added?
Here is my recording/storing code:
public var mic:Microphone = Microphone.getMicrophone();
public var micSilence:uint;
private var soundBytes:ByteArray = new ByteArray();
private var soundBA:ByteArray = new ByteArray();

View 2 RepliesI am making a gun game, and I want to make so that it plays a sound when you click the mouse.I have the sound already imported, and i am using it in an external (.as) file for a pistol. I've spent hours incorporating it into a movie clip, but it either plays over repeatedly or just doesn't even go.Is there any way to do this? Ive tried lots of tutorials before I came here but nothing seemed to work
View 4 RepliesI found this code to play sound:
myButton_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonIsClicked); [code]....
I got it working fine, but was wondering how to program a function for another button to stop stop playing that sound?I tried a function with snd.stop(); but that seems to be incorrect.
