I have a list of functions inside an array.I want to pull out the names of these functions as they are written in the array, and display them through the trace.Easy? All I get is a 'type function' ...from what I thought would be as simple as this:::

I need to pull numbers out of a string. I can easily iterate over all the characters, but the problem I am having is that often the numbers are zeroes. Is there a way to convert a string to an integer other than casting (since int("0") and int("a") both return 0)? Basically I need to be able to differentiate between "string1string" and "string10string".

When you pull the string, the lightbulb turns on, and when you let go, the string bounces up and swings around, causing the lightbulb to swing slightly as well.I tried to do this with prefabbed animations, but it just doesn't look right. I have an array of image width values pulled from XML. I want to simply look at the array and return a value that is equal to the highest number in the array. e.g. the array might end up like array [250,600,350,375]and I just want something that returns the highest value (in this case the 600).
View 9 RepliesI have a bit of code here that pulls, at random, 50 images from a file and pushes them into an array. I now need to pull, at random, 350 times from the array. I'm using a timer in place of the for loop to grab the images from the array. My code works fine as long as I do not use an array and I loop the images straight from the file. But that's very slow and bad form. I think I can do everything except the .load of the array. I can't seem to make it work. I'm getting errors that say "#1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference" or "1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type Array to an unrelated type flash.net:URLRequest". I think I get the point of these messages, but I cannot seem to figure out how to pull the URLRequests back out of the array.

I would like to Randomly select 2 of these Movieclips (and them not be the same Movieclips).Then I would like to pass those 2 Movieclips into a function that is setup to receive them as arguments. "in" only works against the index with Arrays in AS3 (which is totally retardo if you ask me), though it does work with ojects, but we're not talking about objects.improve (reduce) on this code I'm using now? I'm hoping to avoid defining a utility function - I'd like a nice elegant one-liner.

Now I want to set the current game. I do this by copying the array, like so:

I can't convince flash to accept the string ("oef"+curExc) as an Array. How do I do this?
