ActionScript 2.0 :: Generate A Variable Number Of Random Numbers Less Than 16 With No Duplicate Numbers

Nov 2, 2004

how to do this and not found much, so here goes:

I want to generate a variable number of random numbers less than 16 with no duplicate numbers

Ive posted the fla, and what i'm doing is generating a random number and putting it into an array then using a for loop to cycle through the array for each new random number to check if its already there. if it is, then i want to regenerate that number.

if you test the fla you'll see that all i get in my array is some lovely zero's and i sort of know why this is, but don't know how to stop it.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Add Kerning (letterspacing) In-between Numbers In A Date Counter?

Jan 21, 2009

Is it possible to add kerning (letterspacing) in-between the numbers in a date counter?

For example lets say I have a date counter that counts the dates of a month (1,2,3,etc...) and I have two circles sitting side by side not overlapping. How would i go about adding a space in-between the numbers to have the number on the left in the left circle and the number on the right in the right circle? I believe it requires strings but I don't know enough to be able to code something like this at the moment.[code]...

ActionScript 3.0 :: Counter Variable - Round To Number From Range

I'm trying to syncronize an audio and some text by highlighting it. In the main movie I have counter variable which calls charCounter3.as and timeVars variable which calls timeSettings.as I have onEnterFrame function that highlights the text while sound is playing.

My code is:
function onEnterFrame(e:Event):void {
pos=soundChannel.position;
var minutes:uint=Math.floor(soundChannel.position/1000/60);
var seconds:uint=Math.floor(soundChannel.position/1000)%60;
debug_txt.text='position: '+pos;
[Code] .....

Highlighted text needs to be updated on audio forwards and backwards. I think onEnterFrame isn't being able to catch the timeArr values.

I wish I went in to this with a better foundation in actionscript 3, but I'm reading and doing my best. WHAT I SEE

-dollar sign indicates a variable or array "$numbers"
-import flash.utils.Dictionary; "indicates an associative string"
-Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties
-is the associative string is fooling me? "maybe I set no values, duh"
-are the property of my symbols are set wrong?

ActionScript 2.0 :: CS3 Number-cast Input String Versus Numbers - Inconsistent Traces Between Computers?

May 26, 2009

We're making a simple input text comparisons vs. some constant floating point numbers (e.g. 4.35). Using Actionscript 2 to Flash 9 export. Getting totally contradictory traces on two different computers compiling identical code...Here's some simple code we're using to figure out what's going on.

Code:

trace(typeof(Number(435/100)))
trace(typeof(Number(435/100)==4.35))
trace((Number(435/100)==4.35))

[code]....

Also, what behavior do any PC users have? I'm expecting the latter since they're generally intel chipsets too?Note: once i compile the code on my PPC mac, intel macs that run the SWF (but don't recompile the FLA) do return the correct booleans that match the PPC output.
