ActionScript 2.0 :: Stopping Movieclips In Its Path

this is the script i have happening on a frame. i have 2 other clips that run next to it - conveyor belt styleee.[code]this works well. it goes to where i want then returns to an x value and the whole thing starts again. great. i know want to add button funtionality in that when i put my mouse over any of the clips all the clips stop moving. when i remove the mouse from the clip then all start moving again. this should happen regardless of what clip i rollover.

I created 6 movieclips and imported them into my main file. They each play a short animation when clicked. I added an event listener and a .stop() for each movieclip.Instead of writing all the repetitious code, I want to put them all into an array. The question is, how do I get the movieclips to stop so they don't play before clicked on?

I've had to work on a god-awful Flash movie with lots of nested hand animated movieclips and sub-clips, all with their own timeline.Every time I'm asked to update it, I wince trying to test it and spot details for tweaking.Does anyone know of a way to stop playback of every movieclip? irrespective of how its nested and without addressing them all using dot notation.
There are loads of movieclips you see, and I want a pause control to freeze everything, I've tried this with onEnterFrame events on each movieclip looking at a _root variable called "playState", but some movie clips ignore this, and keep playing.Is there an easy way to do this other than pasting my code into everything? Is there a way of making code affect all movieclips simultaneously - halting their own timelines? Then resuming?

I have multiple movie clips on 4 labeled frames of my movie. The keyframes are as follows : People, Place, Portfolio, Possibilities
The buttons to go to each of these keyframes work, although because I have a movie (different for each keyframe) I cannot get the previous movie's audio to stop when I click to another keyframe.
Also, I cannot get the other movie to work once I am on the next page.
The movieclips are named- Btn2 -which is the movieclip that plays once clicked on the homepage. Btn3- which is the movieclip that is supposed to play once clicked (on the people page).

give it some time to load- then click the doorbell- let the movie play for a little bit then click on people...the door closes, but the sound continues.

Is there a way to use an existing path drawn on the scene, as the basis for path made up by many movieclips that also follow the original curves "curveture"?I kind of want to make a "road" consisting of "yellow stickit notes" overlapping each other.I want to do this without manually having to draw each stick-it note, so I can easily change the curve without having to redraw the whole thing.

Let's say I am loading a movieclip from a remote url within another movieclip on another server.
This movieclip now needs to load another child movie clip on the same server as itself.
How can it get its own url and not the url of its parent container so as to load this child ? Because if it refers to "child.swf" it will be relative to the super parent container insted of the first server isn't it ? So it will not be able to load the child correctly if all it can get is the url of the parent.

I want it to while still easing into place like the iphone does. For example my stage is 550px. The drag and throw MC is 1650. That's 550x3. If the first image is showing starting at x axis 0 and you drag to the left it will ease into place stopping and showing the second image stopping the image at x axis 0. And the same thing scrolling to the next one and scrolling back. So the code is below and I've attached the movie that I'm working on.

I am making a character walk. This code will make him wobble to the right and when thats done it will trigger him to wobble to the left and then call the function again to continue the loop.I can get the loop to work fine by calling the function but how do I STOP the function? Also I want to call it later on. Is there a way to start and stop a function?

the same class is passed to the mxmlc compiler in SWF library as a symbol linkage class and again in a source-path. But the compiler uses the definition from the source-path so creating new instance of that class won't create new instance of the library symbol. How do I tell the compiler to prefer the definition linked to the symbol (the one dfrom SWC)?
I have my design assets in an FLA file and they are linked to classes (e.g. [URL]. Then I export those assets to a SWC library and pass it to the compiler. Now when I create an instance of the class (new MyAsset();) it will be a new instance of the library object.
But there are other classes too in the source folder (e.g. "com.myproject.model.*" so I need to pass the source folder to the compiler too. And that is the problem, now the compiler will use the MyAsset.as definition from the source path, not from the SWC where it is assigned to the library object so if I create new instance of MyAsset now it won't duplicate the library object.

I am displaying some flash content on a fairly standard page. This works really well when the flash, xml file and html page are sitting together in the same directory.url...However, I want to display that same content in another page which is deeper inside the site but outside of the directory that houses the .swf and .xml files as well as the assets.[code]The js files are loading properly but the flash content is not, so I could use a little help getting that sorted out.

I am coming from flash to flashbuilder I have a directory, AS3_classes_dir, on my computer that stores all of my classes, including my greensock and papervision packages. In every flash app that I make I include that directory in the Source Path, so that I can import whatever I may need. Compiling in flash (using ctrl/enter) takes very little time; only the classes that are specifically imported are compiled.So today I did that in flashbuilder, included AS3_classes_dir via Flex Build Path/Source Path ... but now the compile time are a couple of minutes, even though I am not even importing ANY of the classes from within.

I m trying to make sense of how to load a swf into a parent MovieClip and allow them to communicate.I ve attached two zip files � one which works fine and the other doesn�t. Unfortunately (for me), the one which doesn�t work is closer to my current project.I need to load movieclips into the parent movieclip. The parent movieclip has controls which rely on values parsed from the child movieclip.In the parent movieclips I wait until the loading is complete and so the values should be passed. I want to test mc animations without having to hit F12 to see if they work correctly. For instance, if I have an animation movieclip and then I make another movieclip and drop that aforementioned movieclip within, and animate [via the timeline or library preview] I'm unable to see on-the-fly what my animation looks like... it only shows the top most nest, unless I F12 it.
So if I have a character blinking eyes (one movieclip) and then I create another movie clip of the face, and put that aforementioned movieclip within, the preview animation within the library does not show how it'll be viewed when F12'n it.,,,, it'd be great to see your animations on the fly.
