ActionScript 3.0 :: Any Way To Play Through Images Like Movie Without Lag?
May 29, 2009
I am trying to make an online game in flash right now. But I am very much interested in making a way of making webcams viewable to other users, and I have gotten it working. But the one major flaw is that the images have to be small and speed at which a new one comes in has to be slow in order to avoid lag. Now I want to create a challenge to all possible to find a way to play through images like a movie without lag. How to get at least 12 fps playback of images of 200*200 pixels or higher. Makes me wonder why already on stage playback stays fast.
This is my first post as i m just beginner in Flash JavaScript. I want to prepare a FLash Movie in which all the images r dynamic and the images should change after a time say every 30 secs the image changes.
I want a movie clip (let's call it homecontent_MC) with 100 frames play to frame 80 and stop. Then when someone clicks a button on the navigation bar (home, about, services, contact, etc...) homecontent_MC would then begin playing from it's position (frame 80) til it reaches 100, at which point it wouldn't be on screen, and the movie clip that corresponds to the navigation button press (say services_MC...) would start from frame 1 and continue til it stops at it's frame 80...
I have five different scenes all including three different buttons. When I test the buttons in "play scene" - all buttons sounds correctly in all scenes. But when I play movie, there is sound only with one button (the same button in every scene). I have looked for differences, but this button seem to have all the same parameters as the others.
I am creating a site, and it has a animation that it has to play before loading the next section. What I cant figure out is what function I need to create so that when a user clicks on the vision button it will play the frame after stop(); which will close that section, then have it load the frame for the section that the person clicked on. The only way I can think of doing this is creating 3 different close animations for the three sections. But I figure there has to be a way to have it play the one close animation and then goto the frame which is the portfolio section or vision section (depending on the button clicked).

I was wondering whats the best way to play a sequence of images (dynamically.... not using IDE) so that I can mimic the behavior of a movieclip? The images are pngs that get loaded completely in the begin of the app, based on a user ineraction with this object, I must play a given sequence.
I want to create a gallery similar to this but have the images load and play automatically. I looked at the code and figured instead of the "forward" and "backward" comands I could load them from a folder.Url...
I have a flash banner that includes a movie clip of the logo being animated. I want the logo animation to only run at the beginning of the main "movie". Currently I have to find the length of the entire movie (for ex. 500 frames) then put a key frame in at the 500th frame of the logo movie clip. I know there has to be a correct way to do this...Do I add a frame name at the end of the main timeline and somehow in AS in the logo movie clip say "when you reach X goToAndPlay(1);"?
i'm trying to play several movie clips, one after the other from one main movie clip.i've got 8 movie clips, "m1.swf", "m2.swf", etc. "m8.swf", and one main movie clip, "play.swf".i've tried using loadMovie, but it only plays the last movie clip. this is what i've got. in the main movie clip, i've put a play button, and the actionscript i have in the button is:
I have my flash document set up in the following way: On the main timeline I have my buttons that I want to play movie clips embedded inside a movie clip on the main timeline. However, when I click each different button, the current movie clip stops playing and then the movie clip corresponding to the button plays.
I want them all to be able to play at once. So for example you push button 1 and the alien plays, but half way through you could click button 2 and the alien clip would keep playing, but also the helicopter clip would begin to play as well. Here is the code I have so far:
building_btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, alien); building_btn2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, helicopter); function helicopter(e:MouseEvent):void {[code]......
I'm trying to make a flash website that has clickable buttons that will play different movie clips. But I dont know how to make it to just play the movie clip with the button you click without playing all the movie clips on the main timeline.
I want to make the kirupa slideshow that loads in movieclips instead of images. This is a huge multimedia project and the movieclips will each have a lot of text and graphics in them. I want it to autoplay AND have manual controls like "back" and "next".
I'm not too familiar with autoplay, except in a timeline. How can I make this work if everything is in a movieclip on the first frame? Do I need to use the timeline or scenes or can it be done with out them?
to clarify... I have 20 buttons at the top. Clicking each one of them will open a different movieclip into an empty mc in the middle of the stage. I have back, next and autoplay buttons at the bottom. I want the user to be able to manually control the movies AND to autoplay.
give me the actionscript for a bar that has a play and stop button to play and stop frames in a flash movie. i would be gratefull if you could as i am really stuck
I am a newbie at flash so this might be a trivial problem for the experts. I have a flash banner I wish to remove the replay link and display the flash continuously. Preview link: [URL] Src Link: [URL]
have a template which shows 12 bitmap and 12 symbols all the images are in place but when i preview the swf it only has half the images in the sequence?for exapmle it shows images 1,2, 4,5 7,9,11 they come in and go out in the sequences then loops again but misses out 3 6 10 12 ?? how can i get theses to show in the project.
i am fading images into view using tweens, however the images flicker during the tween when i play them back in the flash player. Does anyone have any thoughts, advise, work-arounds?? Cheers
I have an image scrolling setup like in itunes, however I am unable to click on the images to play a frame in my timeline (i.e. Im going to click on one of the revolving pictures, which change to another frame, enlarging a square on the page which contains information). So every image that is rotating enlarges a square at the bottom. What changes do I have to make in order to do this. Below is the action script:
I have a MC inside a button and I put in in the "Over" state how to make the MC play in reverse on mouseOut? Or is there a better or easier way of doing this?
I am pretty new to ActionScript 3 and Flash. I don't want my movie clip to play unless the person's mouse curser is on the movie clip for more than a second. If the person just runs their curser over the movie clips really quickly, then it should do nothing. It must be more than a second. How do I code that?
I export my Flash movie and upload to web. After a certain amount of time (maybe 1 minute?), the images in the SWF movie disappear. Anyone else experience this and know the reason why this is happening?
I work with 3d animation. Im have a problem with a personal website Im doing, I have a link in a button inside a flash movie to open a new window and play a youtube movie:
on (release) { var jscommand:String = "window.open('http://www.youtube.com/v/b0L4XLODhAA&hl=en&fs=1&','win','height=344,width=4 25,toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes');"; getURL("javascript:" + jscommand + " void(0);"); }
This works fine in Firefox but in IE it doesnt work, I then change the /v/ in the youtube link with /p.swf?video_id= and now I have the window open showing the small youtube thumbnail of my video but once a click play, nothing happens, I check it and is not loading anything.
I want to play a movie (simple fade in text on top of a photo background) in a banner on my home page one time when the user first displays the home page. After that I'd like to have the end result of the movie (last frame) remain static for the remainder of the user's session, regardless of which pages they refresh. The only way I can see to do this within the web site configuration is to embed the swf on a main page, then display the contents of all the other pages in an iframe on that page. However, I would prefer not to rewrite the entire site to use iframes.
I looked briefly at using a flash shared object and checking a variable in the swf onLoad event. But (I think) that requires the movie to be loaded to read the variable and hence the banner wouldn't show the text in the first frame. I could then jump to the last frame but it seems the banner would "flash" (sorry for the pun) from having no text at the start of the movie to displaying the text at the end every time a page is refreshed.
I'm not sure if I can do what I want without using Action Script or if I need to control the whole process within the html on the page containing the embedded swf.
i have created a preloader and am wanting it to only play through twice and then stop so i can have it getURL to and load the rest of my site but it just repeats constantly.
I can get a flash movie to play in Internet explorer 7. It will not load the movie. Does anybody know of this and if anyone may have a html code to tell IE7 to load and play this (my) movie.
I have just put together a website for my employer which has a flash movie that plays as soon as you land on the homepage. I want that movie to only play once, so when the visitor goes to another page then goes back to the homepage the movie will not play again. I have applied the following LSO script to the flash movie to create a sort of flash cookie stored on the visitors computer. It works fine in Internet explorer and Safari, but for some reason there's a problem in Firefox. When you go back to the homepage, instead of going to the last frame as scripted gotoAndStop(_totalframes); it stops at a random point roughly half way through the movie.
