View 4 RepliesI want to attach spheres to rotating sphere but I've encountered some rotation problems:
In application u can rotate mainSphere in both x and y axiss'.
If I rotate main sphere in only x axiss or only y axiss, it works correctly. But if I rotate main sphere around both x and y axiss, sphere is attacing the wrong place.

View 3 Repliesball collision inside another ball using gravity.I have one large circle in the middle of the stage (its radius is 150 pixels). I have another circle inside of that one (20 pixels radius), this is the smaller ball that I would like to have bounce around inside of the larger one with gravity. When the small ball hits the edge of the larger circle, I would like it bounce inwards to the center of the larger circle. It keeps doing this until it eventually stops in the center of the larger circle at the bottom.

I've found some samples implementing destroy() methods for away3d internal classes, but they're not working as well.

i have a small question concerning away3D. I have some cubes with the exact same dimensions that are positioned in the same place. When i click on the stack of cubes, i want to register a click on the cube i added last. Instead of doing this, the click is registered on the cube i added first.
I have found a way to alter the cubes position in the container and have tried putting the element at the end (code below) and start of the childrenArray, but nothing seems to work. I am kinda really stuck here, so if anyone knows how to get the top level element when clicking on the stack, i'd be happy to hear.

when I try to render a cube using Away3D + Molehill, I only get a white default screen, I followed the instructions here: hhe only thing I did not do, was the part that talks about the patch, cuz If I do that I get errors like when I try to import the Sprite class, for example.Im using FB 4.5.!

[URL]..why it's impossible to me to center the pivot of this container? if I do container3D.centerPivot() all my cubes are moved from they're position and still the pivot it's not in the center, but at the center of just ONE cube (the last on the bottom-right corner). How can I center the pivot of the container properly to ITS center?

View 1 RepliesI'm working on a spherical movie viewer in Away3D & am having a problem when I apply a VideoMaterial texture to a 3D primitive. The video appears heavily pixellated, like it's being scaled or hugely compressed. When I apply a BitmapMaterial of a single still image from the video it appears fine, so I don't think the resolution of the video is the problem.
I found [this discussion][1] suggesting a solution by specifying the "fixedHeight" & "fixedWidth" when I call the constructor, but those arguements seem to have no effect, and I can't find them in the API either. I do see something called "lockH" & "lockW," [in the API][3], but I they don't seem to have any effect either.

This is really my first venture into the realm of 3d and I've read some of the basic tutorials so I'm not 100% clueless, but I am a bit confused by what is appearing with the following class (this is a document root class, loaded by the .fla file): the images I loaded to skin the board with are showing up, but just in specific triangles. I want it to skin across the whole board. Is [code]there something special I need to do to achieve this?Also, my final goal with this project is to skin (texture map) one side of the board with a bitmap (drawn from an MC) and the other side with a different bitmap.

View 3 RepliesI've been trying to test out Away3D engine on Flash CS5.5, and I've been getting lots of errors. I have downloaded playerglobal.swc and placed it, edited player xml file and configured it for flash to use FP11. In Flash, I have chosen Flash player 11 to be used. But when I try to create a new View3D object:

I get an output error (not a compiler error) of:
VerifyError: Error #1014: Class flash.display3D.textures::Texture could not be found.

I'm trying to get the distance between two objects. Problem is that both objects are -45º rotated but one of them moves up and down with stage resize. So the distance gets a random degree. I've attached an image so that it could be simpler to understand my problem.

I basically would want to rotate it by 360 degree both on the x and y axis on a canvas as well as having that done manually, such as having to drag my mouse to control which direction the model rotates in.
