ActionScript 3.0 :: Best Way To Change Dynamically Loaded XML File?
Feb 17, 2011
I tried to change dynamically loaded xml file. Example: default loaded xml file is books.xml, now if I push button named CDs then it loads cd.xml. Do I need to use listener and trace? I have to files Script.as and Page.swf
I'm trying to get a dynamically loaded swf to load into an empty mc behind a particular mc on the stage. I used actionscript to create an empty movie clip using the createEmptyMovieClip command. But, how can i get it to create it, then load the external .swf into it behind a exsisting mc on the stage?
I have made a presentation with voice over, in which the images and audio files are loaded externelly from the folder where the swf was placed. the voice over files are in MP3 format, loaded with the script follows
mysound = new Sound(); mysound.loadSound("voice1.mp3"); mysound.start(0,0);

i have a text box in flash which has text loaded dynamically from a .txt file. and its html enabled.. the text file has a variable name. notes but it doesnt have an instant name.... the problem i have is. that when i snap a flash mx scroll bar component. it gives it an instant name but the scroll bar doesnt work.
how you properly organize dynamically loaded thumbnails from an xml file, into a grid.What I'd like is for the number of columns and rows to be set in the xml file also, and for the flash file to auotmatically fill out the rows / columns based on how many thumbs are in the xml file.
I've found examples of this type of thing in both as3 and as2, but I can't seem to get my as2 version working properly... how to create a thumbnail grid in as2...I don't really want the thumbs to link to a bigger version fo the image...
I have successfully loaded an external swf file into my own one. now what i want is to change the size of the loaded file.
the loaded file is an image and its height:500 and width:500 but what i want is to resize it to 200x200
How can i do that.
here is my code to load external image var peelawayimage = _root.createEmptyMovieClip("peelawayimage", 7); var mcImage = new MovieClipLoader(); mcImage.loadClip(_root.video_image, peelawayimage);
I am trying to preload an mp3 file dynamically while showing the typical 'percentage loaded' in a dynamic text box. However for some reason, the percentage just doesn't count up - it freezes on 100% even though the mp3 file is still loading. I have included the code that I'm using below. Also, does anyone know what would be the best way to adjust this code so that I could preload multiple mp3 files at the same time or one after another?
I have loaded text on flash from an external txt. file. But when it comes to adding html to the files such as "font face" or to simply bold the text it won't work, I have check to have the html clicked on Flash, but the text just wont change.
I have a gfx which I have created 6 shapes and converted them into simple buttons. I have urls sat inside an xml file. How can I get the buttons to use the urls set from within the xml file?Also how can I change the current external photo that is being loaded to load the url from a setting in the same xml file.
Is it possible to control one loaded SWF File eg.(MOVIE-1.swf) from another loaded SWF file eg.(MOVIE-0.swf) on a different level? eg. with a syntax like:
Is it possible to add dynamically an button or graphic symbol into some area ?Let's say i have two buttons, and in particular case i would like to display first button in that area and another time i would like to replace that button with second or another graphic.
I've completed all 3 tutorials listed on gotoAndLearn and I've got the following code.[code]So as you know I've got my 10 items dynamically loaded out of XML, as well as the MC Box, which is centered on the stage.My question is, how would I get the carousel to rotate around the centered box. I'm not sure how to adjust the depths to go behind the centered mc. I know [code]is probably where I need to make an adjustment, but I'm lost as far as what to do.
Having got into flash about a year ago, I have a fairly good understanding of as3, but I have never had any reason to learn as2. For an upcoming project, we were looking to use Scaleform GFx, with the UDK. (Unreal Development Kit) Trouble is, Scaleform only supports as2. From what I've been told, as3 is supposed to be better in just about every way, so I really don't want to learn a language that?s most likely on the way out, if I have any other options.
Is there any converters out there, that can convert script from as3 to as2? Or another workaround possibility, since flash communicates with the UDK by means of just calling a function, could I create an as2 file that could dynamically load an as3 file?
how to change the 3D centerpoint dynamically? In the flash IDE you can use the 3D rotation tool and easallydrag the 3D centerpoint. You can see the new position in the transform panel.I read a lot of forums and website.. and dit some coding, but with no result.I tried to do it this way:
var pp1:PerspectiveProjection = new PerspectiveProjection();pp1.fieldOfView=35;pp1.projectionCenter = new Point(-mybitmap.width/2, -mybitmap.width/2);mybitmap.transform.perspectiveProjection = pp1;
I've got an Adobe Captivate file which is pulling through an SWF which I have created. I am not sure exactly how the CP file is importing this SWF but it is.I'd like to ensure that this SWF is on the uppermost layer when the file is published as at the moment it is placed further down the order - which leaves it obscured by other elements on screen. Is there any AS3 code like onEnterFrame or something like that in AS3 which would lift it to the highest depth?
I'm involved in a project that is pushing the limits of my AS3. Right now I am trying to use the throwSlider to dynamically change a circle MovieClip so that the slider starts at the left and when dragged to the right it increases the size of the circle. When dragged back it decreases. I am getting some interactivity but nothing great or smooth. I know I have to connect the code to the x boundaries but I am not sure how to go about it. The circle would give the user some notion of size the real change would be lineStyle(). My goal is to use this slider to increase the line thickness in a simple drawing app I am making for my students.
I have a swf file that displays data from an external text file, alongside a bunch of buttons that link to html pages. What i would like to achieve is to somehow use the external text file to alter the URLs of the buttons.
The swf i am building is getting used as a 'what's new' section, so it will be updated almost weekly, hence it reading the external text file (so i can update it without using the fla). And because the whats new section changes alot, so too does the button links. Hence, the buttons need to be updated aswell, and ideally, that can be done from the external text file.
Why don't i just use the dynamic text to <a href> to the new page you ask? because that would be sucky.Besides, i think that something like this could open more opportunities to the way we (well at least I) construct our fla's.
