My current code is myNameArray = str_adminInput.split(" "); This code only works if the names are : Jack Lee, June Poh. This code does not work if the names are: Lee Tok Kong, Tan Beng Seng.

I have an object which needs to be added to an array, but when it is, it doesn't show the string inside. However, when I alert the exact same object, I get the result I'm looking for.
Here's my code.
newArray.push(obj.responseData.results[i].phoneNumbers[0].number);
alertMe(obj.responseData.results[i].phoneNumbers[0].number);
The first line shows nothing in that location in the array, and the second pops up a phone number, just like I'm after.
How to compare a string with strings inside an array for a match? I have a file in which each sentence (or word) (generally string) is present in a new line. Opened the file and read the contents to a string.

But this doesn't work. Seems like if(_input == _strArray[i]) never gets executed even if they are equal. What might be the problem. Is there some better way to so it?
I do math applications for the web. Often I have to check if a user input is correct. For example: the right answer is 3x+5. Is the user input that.I do this by checking character by character. I don't think that it is the best way, especially since the user may have written 5+3x, which is right, too, although it is preferred to write the other way around.I sometimes have to check more complicated expressions, like -3x^2+7x-15 or -2 sin (4x^2).Right now I'm doing an equation solving exercise. There I have to check what the user wants to do to the equation, like +2x or /(-5).

View 1 RepliesWhen I play a sound on a loop using the sound.play(0,loops) method, the channel doesn't dispatch an event when the sound is completed each time inside the loop - but, only after all the loops are played. Is there a way to check out when each loop is done?
I know there's the way to play only once, and check when the channel dispatched SOUND_COMPLETE and then play the sound again - but this method actually doesn't work as intended, as it creates a really small interval between each loop, which is noticeable and destroys the whole looping effect.
I'm having a problem checking the position of elements in an array.. for example if I have an array as follows :-I have drawn the number 68 (I always exclude the number drawn). I am checking this array of numbers to see if any exist in the same 'row'Say I have already drawn 61,62 and 63. I don't want this to 'return as true' when I check the array because yes the numbers exist but there is a gap (the numbers arSo I would like to accept if I had 68, 69, 70 because they are sequential from 68 but if I also have 72 I don't wish to accept that number.

I have this statement _root.bulletArray = [] that is storing all my movieclips that have been created with attachMovieClip. I know that all of the data contained inside openList is a type of Node object, but Flash returns an error. I don't know how to typecast such as placing (in another language)...

I have an array that has its values dynamically changed as a user interacts with buttons. I need to constantly check 6 index values from this array against each other so that if they are the same value they count as 1 but if they are unique they also count as 1.
E.g. IF all 6 index points = "A" I get 1 returned
If 3 of the index points = "A"
2 index points = "B"
1 index point = "C"
I get 3 returned to me
So I'm looking for a way to get a number returned to me ranging from 1-6 depending on the values.

I have an array. I have a button, when I press on it I want to be able to loop through every item in the array and see if EVERY item is equal to true, if so I want something to happen.

I thought I could loop through each one and if a false statement if found, the loop stops and the variable allIsTrue = false. But if the loop cycles all the way through allIsTrue = true.

I'm having problems with something somewhat simple. We're going to a trade show and needed a video that would randomly load a SWF clip on one scene, then I have the timeline move to another after a delay and then go to the next part to load an image, then I have it restart and do it again, for a never-ending looping video at our booth.
I'm running into an issue though, when it loops and plays the SWF for the 2nd time, the old content still remains and the new content plays over the previous one. I figured the issue was I needed to remove the previous clip before loading a new one. I found some code that I thought SHOULD work but can't seem to get it right.

I already found out how i can add a string inside it... but when the first string is longer the second string ofcourse doesn't show up on the right place..
