Many years ago, I got this file to teach me how to make a mask. Its a magnifying glass and inside where the glass is, there is a circle that makes the mask. The two layers below it show type going from small, to larger, where the magnifying glass mask resides. The demo uses a motion tween, where the magnifying glass and the cirlce move together.I am trying to create a drag mask to do this, is this possible? am not sure how to keep the magnifying glass and the circle for the glass together?I can't put the magnifying glass on the mask layer, or it won't show in the movie? Here is what the Original file looked like:This is what needs to stay together to work, and I can't figure it out?I have a script tome write the start and stop drag, but I don't know how I can put both the magnifying glass, which needs to be visible to the user, and the circle, which needs to be on the mask layer to show visibility of the masked layer below, together for 1 stop and start drag action.
I really like the text effect Pom used in the footer contest, and would like to use the same grid-type method of creating mc letters but with a different effect. i understand how to change the parameters and shapes of the letters, but can't seem to figure out which piece of code is purely for the explosion effect. basically, i want the letters but with the 'Repel' effect from[URL] here is Pom's AS:
[AS] cellSize=3; radius=10; damp=.85;
[code]....
and here is the .fla using the repel effect using pre-made mc:
im trying to create a flash effect using a mask layer.i want to have a text box which is invisible, and throu the timeline small peices of a mask layer will move over the text box, revealing the text. My problem is this, if i create a mask layer with more than 1 object, when i try to move the objects (for example in different directions so the text will reveal from both sides) then i get a weird movement from the objects (like the sum of both movements i wanted) so i was think maybe a layer can contain only one moving object. So i just cant figure how can i get the effect i want.
I am trying to create a full-frame photo slideshow/photo transition like the one on this site-It shows a random background photo each time a link is clicked and has a nice diagonal "wipe" effect for a transition. Then photos of their work are shown when exploring that section. How would I generate the random photos and transition effect upon clicking a link?
I'm looking to create this styled effect for transition between multiple mc's.This site is an example of the effect I'm looking to create featured in the intro. The 'wash-out' effect is used as a transition and I'm wondering the best way to accomplish this effect. Is is code or tween animation of the timeline and some sort of filter?
I am trying to create an interative catalog for my small business.( I would like to do something similar to the online catalog that Kohls department store has [URL]... When the user goes to the corner, I would like the page to curl and give them the ability to turn it like a book. I would also like to keep all of my interactive scripting on each page (ie small popup box when the user rolls over an item, larger popup box when they click on an item) I am currently using Flash Pro CS5 to create the rollover/popup boxes, but do not know how to create the page curl effect. I know that InDesign can apply this effect to my pages, but am having issues with this working completely.
I have placed my flash pro cs5 .swf file (which contains my invisible buttons and scripting.) into my InDesign doc. I then export this InDesign doc as a .swf and also generate an html file. When I open the swf or html file, there is a big grey flash logo on the page. If I click on it, the page loads and I am able to interact as I would like and also turn the page with the curl effect. The problem is that every time I turn the page it loads the gray flash logo and I have to click on it again to load the page. An even bigger problem is when I embed the InDesign swf file to my webpage the gray flash logo is still there and even when I click on it, it doesnt load the page. Is there a way to get both interactivity (ie rollover/popupboxes) and the page curl effect I want? Is there a program that will make it easy for me to do both?
I'm struggling to create an effect that I thought wouldn't be to complex to complete, however several hours latter...still can not make it work.
Using Motion tween Im attempting to make an image fade up! Meaning the image slowly fades up from the bottom of the image until the whole image can be seen.
I've tried using the fade effect and adding a masked layer that's tweened, however it fades in very harshly indeed, with the line of the mask very obvious.
Is there any way that I can do this so that it looks smoother and the line is less distinctive.
Taken from [URL] (my site) Creating the DNA effect like in the FlashBox banner. Create an object like the one shown below.Give it an instance name of dna1 You can use any colours but the colours I used are as follows: A radial gradient set with colours from left to right:
Right so I was just wondering how I would go about creating a 'spotlight' effect on an image in flash. I want to use a background image which is only visible within the 'spotlight' (e.g. everything outwith the spotlight is just black). The spotlight must be able to be controlled by the user (I know how to do that bit at least)
I have created a movie in CS3 which is basically a series of images that scroll from right to left across the screen. Each image also has a url assigned to it so that clicking on that image takes you to another (external) website. It's all working beautifully. All I want to be able to do now is to create a mouseover effect, whereby when your cursor is over the scrolling image, that image only enlarges slightly - a bit like the Apple dock effect. Then, if the cursor moves to the second image, the first image reduces back to its original size and the second one enlarges.
I am trying to create a carousel effect with AS3. It all works good except that I get my swapdepths to work. I have a CarouselItem class
ActionScript Code: package{ import flash.display.Sprite; public class CarouselItem extends Sprite{ private var _angle:Number; public function CarouselItem(){ super(); [Code] .....
I get the depth of the current object and then swap it with the one with the higher index.
If I click on mc1, then mc1 has to go to the position of mc3, mc3 has to go to the position of mc2. The same thing must happen when I click on mc2, it has to move to the position of mc3 and mc3 has to move to the position of mc1. I would like to create some kind of infinitive effect by rotating the mc's. In a later stadium I want to fill the mc's with pictures.
How to construct the following in Flash 8 as 2. I have several items that need to be shown in a text field list, the list needs to update as a new item is to be displayed also the new item has to move up or down depending on how many items are on the list. For example the list has 6 items available, the fist three are a higher priority than the last three.
oranges apples mangoes trucks cars boats
When items are called for example oranges we will have oranges in the text field If the second item is called say trucks this will go below oranges, If no oranges are called this will go in the top text field. if we remove an item the remaining field will move up so there are no gaps in the text field. For example start out with oranges only oranges (top of list)
Next case add trucks Oranges(top of list) trucks Next trucks only (remove oranges) trucks( at top of list)
Next add and apples and oranges Oranges ( top of List) apples trucks
Next add boats Oranges ( top of List) apples trucks boats
Next remove trucks [Oranges ( top of List) apples boats
The actual movie clip is an aircraft caution and warning display that updates when faults occur. I know I can use an array to to populate the text field but I am not sure what to use to create the correct animation effect.
I am looking to create an effect this this: [URL] Or even were the lines come in as a group or lines do a moment and move off the stage again. Been trying to mask it but the problem is that the line vectors have no inside too them, just a pure line.
I am currently working on Flash 8 tool. I wanted to know how to create a text effect on mouse click in Flash 8. I have tried simple text effects like fade in and out and zoom out effects, however these effects are not mouse enabled. How to create text effects in flash 8 on a mouse click i.e. text should appear when the mouse is clicked. I am also attaching the SWF file that I generated from a flash document. Attachments: dummy14.swf (17.7 K)
I am trying to create a zooming in effect on some text. To do this i am using the scaleX and scaleY Tween. The problem that I am having is instead of scaling outwards in all directions, it looks like its scaling downwards and to the right. I think this is because the centre of origin is in the top left corner.
Code: import fl.transitions.Tween; import fl.transitions.easing.*; import fl.transitions.TweenEvent; var myFormat:TextFormat = new TextFormat(); myFormat.size=15; [Code] .....
I am trying to make an effect where a bunch of square fade in sequence (without using Voetsjoebas code btw, I'm practicing my own), but I have a problem with the handlers. I want to assign a handler to _root["square"+(i-1)] but it doesnt work if I do. Check out the comments in the code as well. What you see now is the proper effect but I need to move the handler to a different place so that I can assign a different handler to _root.
I have an mc called "square", which is a square. It is placed in a grid, and follows the movement of the mouse. However, it stays in that square of the grid until the _x or _y of the mouse is half or more than halfway into the next grid square, so there's sort of a "sticky" effect.
check out: [URL] The typewriter effect here is very fast, much faster than when I use onenterframe to produce the effect. Does anyone know how this is done?
It's a bit of decoration to go behind a logo. When the dMove var is commented out I get the appropriate line of squares fading in and out at random spots along the x = 78 axis, but when introduced nothing appears at all...
in a nut shell I have found this wicked piece of open source actionscript.
It responds to the cursor and was wondering if it is posible to modify the x_position and y_position actions and make the action respond to a moving object???? (a movieclip with a variable name)
is this to complicated to attempt or is it doable??
I want to be able to make a movie clip (that acts as a button) so the roll over effect finishes before the roll off effect is triggered. Like if a marker circles a button, i want the circling animation to stop before the roll off effects happens. Anyone know how to do this.
Several months ago I created this, The Halo Galactic Map. After talking with a lot of people on their opinions and such, I wanted to take it to the next level and replicate the map found in Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 shown here.
Based on my knowledge of Photoshop and some... and by some I mean very VERY little Flash... I took it upon myself and another member of the community to create this.
All was going well until the member decided it wasn't his cup of tea. Basically, he didn't like that he couldn't do it well enough.
Ok, so I've installed Flash and tooled around with it for a bit, but I want to get going. I know this isn't the best place to post this thread - I know there are probably better places - but I just wanted to know where and what to begin with. I have the whole thing planned out in levels, layers, and motion...
URL...And really like way the yellow animated stars are replaced by blue animated stars, with a central number of the opposite colour to the background being present in the centre.I wondered if anyone might be able to throw any light on how those effects are done please?
