I'm building an app that is interfacing with a database through PHP, but it looks like it's grabbing a chached version of the php page, which is giving it old data. How do I ensure that Flash loads the file fresh from the server and not from cache? I'm using URLLoader, andI've tried putting the question mark at the end of the URL (i.e. "questions_view.php?").

View 5 RepliesI was working on a project and Error#2044 was driving me crazy, I try to catch all errors, review and over review my movie loaders but nothing, that error does't allow me to use preloader because it fires off from the begining. When I was totally on my knees I decided to start the whole project from scratch, but, just for the sake of it after making a new flash document I try to simulate downloading and the SAME error fire off!, What? there is nothing, not even a line of code, a pure fresh movie and this errors lurks in my movies.What could It be, it is just my Flash?, this has no sense, It is an empty (fresh movie), why does this error fire off?

However, if a user clicks a button that opens an external document, the swf or Flash Projector exe leaves full page mode and appears in the Flash Player.
Is there any way to ensure the swf or projector file always stays in full screen - full page mode

View 4 RepliesI am using the load command to load content from a .txt file on my server. I have it all working just find when I preview the swf file in flash and when I view the .swf in my web browser from my server. The problem when I view the .swf file on my php page (home.php) I only get undefined variables, it seems to not be able to connect to the .txt files only when I am viewing it on my php page. Again if I view the .swf file on my server using my web browser it works fine.

I believe I am using AS2, I have cobbled some script together from the internet and it seems to be mostly working, but there is one issue I have.Okay here goes with my explanation. I have an SWF that loads a random quote from a txt file which is located on the same server as the SWF file. The quote has an 'a href' tag around the text so that when clicked it will load a URL. - This is all working fine! Here is the problem:I would like to use the same SWF file on a separate server (server 2), that then calls the quotes from to the txt file on server 1. I have added the complete path to the txt file, but when i run the SWF on server 2, it gives me an error. Here is the script I am using in the FLA file.

I have made a XMLloader with URLrequest, and it works locally by calling the file directly by its name ie. "myFile.swf". var presLoader:Loader = new Loader(); presLoader.load(new URLRequest("myFile.swf")); addChild(presLoader);
But when I uploaded the loader to the server, I have no file, only "URL not found"-error. So I found out that I should change to URL to "/Files/Images/subloader/myFile.swf" then it will load. But thats a real problem, because I have several loaders.
Is it possible to load a new set of flashvars into a swf without refreshing the page. Example: Let's say that I have a swf that load an XML file based on the flashvars that are received when the page loads. This swf is sitting in a div on a page. Else where on the same page I have an html button that when pressed would set a new flashvar. Can the already loaded swf accept a new set of flashvars based on that HTML button being pressed and do this without a page refresh so that a new XML file is loaded in the already loaded swf?

The next level is in a new layer and in a new frame.Problem is I think all of the properties (speed, collions etc..) have been inherited. Meaning my charachter will move on his own and collisions will still apply for objects if the previus frame.Is there some kind of way to clean all of the properties and have "fresh" start? I have tried to clean the Array that detects the collisions, the collisions work now. But the player now is 2x faster and also jumps 2x higher.

I'm using the following to remove a textFeild from the stage I then need to add this textField back to the stage at a later time....i tried using addChild the problem is the text that was in the text field prior to the removal is still in the textfield when i re add it......How do i remove the textfield and replace it with a fresh textfield at a later time?....using msgTa.text =""; is not an option.

I have a few invisible buttons that link to URLs, and when clicked open the new URL in the same window and plays a sound.
Sadly, the URL loads before the sound is finished, making this pretty lame.
How do I ensure the full audio plays before the new URL loads?
So i have several SWFs in this project and i need to find a way to ensure that only a single instance of one of these SWFs can load. For example, you cannot open 2 different application SWFs in 2 different browsers, or tabs on the same computer at the same time. LocalConnection seemed to be the best solution to this problem, however, we are experiencing problems with Internet Explorer 9.

Few users of my Flex 4.6 web application are complaining, that the mx.controls.PopUpButton at the right bottom corner of it sometimes opens a List underneath it and is thus unusable (I can't reproduce that myself - probably an unlucky combination of their Flash player and/or font size setting?)
How could I ensure, that the popUp component (in my case it is a spark.components.List) always opens above the PopUpButton?
I suspect, that I should create a skin based on mx.skins.halo.PopUpButtonSkin and assign it to my PopUpButton? And I probably should use the PopUpPosition.ABOVE constant together with the PopUpAnchor?

I still can't reproduce the bug myself, my users aren't very helpful (mostly older folks, playing my card game). I've searched in Adobe JIRA, but couldn't find such a bug.
I wonder, if there is a way to short-circuit that method to enforce opening the popUp above the PopUpButton.
Or if I should put the _list into some container...
