ActionScript 3.0 :: FMS 3.5 - Unable To Connect To New Created Folder

I have installed Adobe FMS 3.5 on an server and inside "applications" folder I have created a new folder say "abc" and restart the FMS service, now when I try to connect to it from Flash using nectconnection it does not get connected and in netstatus event handler there are 2 messages: NetConnection.Connect.Rejected NetConnection.Connect.Closed Although Flash is connecting to 2 folders "live" and "vod" which were created there by default with installation on FMS. I am not able to figure out why it is happening.

I just installed FMS 4.5 w/ built in apache on Win2008R2 - accepting all defaults. Samples streams play fine when playing on the server. I copied the sample directory and put on a client on the network. I modified the stream URL using the server's IP address. I also modified the manifest files so that localhost was replaced with the server's IP. When I attempt to view in the sample player I get the following:

When using the bone tool, I have been fairly successful in working with either a shape or a selection of symbols. However, I am unable to connect a shape to a symbol. Is this possible with the bone tool or am I barking up the wrong tree? If not, is there some sort of work-around when part of the animation is constructed from symbols and part is constructed from shapes?

I have been trying to get my live feed up and running for friends but they are unale to view it. I have FMS 4 with FMLE 3.2 on Win7. Under the fms url i have 'rtmp://localhost/live' and Stream name is 'livestream' I can view the stream just fine from my computer on which i am running both FMS and FMLE. but when i put the html file on my website, my friends just see the empty swfplayer. You can view it at[URL]. I was trying to figure out what the problem was so i copied the swf code 6 times with different settings but nothing worked. on my computer, only the first swf player works and im guessing that is because its localhost.

I'm trying to connect to a very simple .NET WCF web service (created in .NET 4.0) within Flash Builder Burrito and the process hangs on "Introspecting the service". I get no errors -- it just hangs. The web service is on my local network, although not on my local machine.

I have been reading about Flash VOIP capabilities. I wonder if flash i able directly to connect to VOIP server ex. Asterisk [URL].. or do I need The Adobe Flash Media Server?

I am building an AIR application where I receive UDP messages from Max/MSP using the Socket class. When testing in an internal loopback environment ( messages sent from 127.0.0.1 at port 7400 ) I can see the UDP messages being sent, as in: I can receive the messages I'm broadcasting in Max/MSP by listening to port 7400.However, the AIR app throws IO errors when trying to connect ( via the Socket class, using Socket.connect ) to aforementioned IP and port and I for the life of me can't find out why the app has no access to the internal loopback sending UTP ( if for instance, I start a Apache server at the same IP but at different port, the Socket class connects immediately to that IP - it won't receive data of course, but at least it can establish a connection )I am thinking the problem lies outside of the AS app and is an internal networking issue, I'd like to know if someone has experienced a similar error ( I'm on OS X, btw ) as I don't think it's a security sandbox error ( as the event isn't thrown, and the application type is trusted ).

When it initially runs,I want it to copy an xml preferences type file from the applicationDirectory to the applicationStorageDirectory,so that the file can be written to as the user changes prefs.The following code works fine - nameStyle.xml gets written to the Local Store folder on my Windows machine.However, a folder called 'applicationStorageDirectory' also gets created on my desktop, and is populated with the file nameStyle.xml...

I'm making a program in flash builder 4.5 using WebOrb 4 (which is fantastic, I might add). When I go to deploy, however, it gives me this error:

I am trying to debug a Flash Web Application using Flash Builder 4. However, I keep getting this error:Unable to connect to the application to fetch profile data. try profiling the application again.I am using Internet Explorer 8 (the same problem also occurs with Internet Explorer 7) with Adobe Flash Player 10.1.102.64 (the Debug Player). In other words, I installed the latest of everything.For my launch configuration, I have used the path to an HTML file. This works fine for debugging but does not seem to work for profiling.

UPDATE: Now I've moved the AMFConnection var declaration to outside the functions in Main, and commented out some trace() commands, and now it gives new errors:

I'm trying to connect to AMFPHP on a server (with Flash AS3), and the swf borks when it reaches the .connect() stage. To make things easier (?) and more reusable (?), I've put all the NetConnection mechanics into a separate class, AMFConnection, which I call from the Main document class like this (details changed):

AMFConnection actually starts the connection and calls the AMFPHP service with the function gogogo(), and here's where the connect() NetConnection function just won't work. Here's the main section of the AMFConncection class

It also fails to display the stage, instead showing the loading dots. Now, eventually I'm going to move this application to the same server as the AMFPHP service, but even when I try it there with a relative url, instead of an absolute one, it still breaks down at connect(). i am trying to create a flash movie for my browser page. i am able to import and export the movie just fine, the problem comes after i export the movie. As long as i leave the flash file in the folder it was created in things work great. If i try to move the folder or rename the folder it stops working. It acts like it cant find the flv file i created the flash with. if i rename or move the folder back where it was created things work fine.

i have situation in which i have some library projects, say
"DataProcessors","Lib2"
, included in my lets say "MainProject" (a web project) placed on directory
"E:in-debugMainProject.swf"
, when i build the project it automatically place all the libs .swf in its "E:in-debug" folder, but when i debug or run the project it it gives loading error that
"E:DataProcessors.swf"
not found but i have those lib files on
"E:in-debugDataProcessors.swf"..
what could be the possible errors.

I am using Flash CS3 and Actionscript 2.0.I want to make a photo.jpg that is in my images folder load into a swf that is in a swf folder. It works fine when I have the photo.jpg in the same folder as the swf. But it does not work when I have the photo.jpg in a different folder. What must I do to the AS2 to make this happen? I work with Flash Pro allmost 11 hours per day and every while i get a error which messes up everything. Approximetly i get this after about 2-3 hours withevery project.After i get this error there is no chance to test movies afterwards.I see a fast flash of the loader window but it dissapears so fast i cant even really see if it is loader.

I have only one question but phrased it 3 ways:
1) Is it better to pre=render things say in photoshop or have flash render them?
2) if I have a field of stars that drift along; is it better to create that Star Field in photoshop as a single picture (say a .png) or to create a star in my library and add it to a movie clip and then have that drift along?
Lets say I have a blur effect on my stars and have an equivalent on the photoshop.
3) I have heard (and experienced) adding effects like blur takes a fair amount of CPU and memory so was wondering if I created the effect in photoshop and then imported the 'blurred' object into my flash if I could cut down on system resources?

When an instance variable is constructed by a constructor method, why do you need to refer to the current instance variable being created when its the only one being created? I understand assigning an expression to it but why name it "this." when it is the only object that the constructor is building? Does it have some hing to do with being able to naming that object in the Local Variable? In other words am I creating a generic object that will be named in another class?

I have a site that plays either .mp3 or .flv files depending on what is selected from the menu. Menu loads in from xml. I get "unable to make connection with server or unable to find flv on server" when I try to play the video. But the video and audio files are all in the same directory and the mp3 files play fine. I think I'm having a problem with the setMedia command. Here's the code that loads the video and audio files.
