I'm trying to connect to a very simple .NET WCF web service (created in .NET 4.0) within Flash Builder Burrito and the process hangs on "Introspecting the service". I get no errors -- it just hangs. The web service is on my local network, although not on my local machine.

However, I keep getting this error:Unable to connect to the application to fetch profile data. try profiling the application again.I am using Internet Explorer 8 (the same problem also occurs with Internet Explorer 7) with Adobe Flash Player 10.1.102.64 (the Debug Player). In other words, I installed the latest of everything.For my launch configuration, I have used the path to an HTML file. This works fine for debugging but does not seem to work for profiling.

I have created a simple "Hello World" Application using Flash Builder Burrito SDK. I have tested the result in the emulator it is working great. After that I deployed the application using "Export Release Build Option" and entered valid certificate details and created the .apk file. I copied the .apk file into the device and i run the application. I am unable to run the app. I have tried these in 3 android supported devices and in each of these I am getting different error messages.
I have mentioned the device in which I have tested and the error message I got while I tried to install the app (.apk file).
HTC Desire - "Error while parsing the package of the application"
Samsung Galaxy Tab - "Error while parsing the package of the application"

I have created a New Mobile Project in the flash SDK and added simple label "HELLO WORLD" in the view section. Before deploying I have installed Adobe AIR 2.5 in the device. I need to know whether any restrictions are there for applications developed using Flash Burrito Preview Release. (whether by default all android mobile version more than 2.1 will support it?) I am writing an application in Flash Builder 4.5. I am also writing a PHP Web service to access data from our MySQL database. This Web service will be made available to third party clients for them to develop applications to access our database as well, via SOAP.
Is there a big performance difference between connecting to the service in Flash Builder via connecting directly to the PHP file vs. connecting to a Web Service via SOAP?I would kind of like to connect to this service the same way that our clients will, to make sure things stay as uncomplicated as possible for future development, but performance is my main priority.

The data comes back as an associative array, which is fine if I want everything from it to be treated the same. But I'm not sure how I am supposed to pull a particular column from the array without having to go through a for loop to parse through it.. since right now the contact name would be at allContacts[i].name.
Basically I want to make a list of the names from the allContacts, so I want an array of allContacts[i].name to set as the data provider for a element. Is there any way to get that done without having to write a for loop to convert it into a new array or writing a new php function?
I have been tinkering around with ServiceStack to expose some web services and have been very impressed. One potential consumer of these services will be a Flex application. Flash Builder (the Flex IDE) has a tool that auto-generates proxy AS3 classes for SOAP web services based on the wsdl - at this point in time only for SOAP 1.1.
If I recreate the HelloWorld tutorial, and try to use the SOAP 1.1 wsdl to autogenerate classes, I get the following errors in Flash Builder. There was an error during service introspection. The part 'parameters' has an invalid value 'HelloResponse' defined for its element. Element declarations must refer to valid values defined in a schema. View 1 RepliesI need to pass a struct and a string in a web service. I am using a WebService components to do so.upon my search, there is no struct type in actionscript and so I used a class for that one.

I wrote an app using adobe flash builder that makes an http data service call to a website.
When I build and launch the app it loads in my browser (the address in the broswer is C:Userspath omyapp.html) and works perfectly. However, when I upload the app to my website or even launch it from outside the project build directory, the HTTP service call fails with the popup
Security error accessing url
Destination: DefaultHTTP
Of course I googled this error and realized it may have something to do with a 'crossdomain.xml' in my web root directory. I tried this and it continued to fail.

I just finished my installation of Adobe Flash Builder 4. I've definitely installed the most recent flash player from Adobe's website onto my computer. Also, in the run configurations of flash builder 4, I changed the source path from the .html file to the .swf file that is generated. I don't need to test it in a web browser, I just want to run the swf in flash player.
I only have 1 .as file in my actionscript project and there is no code written in it other than the package, class and main function statements. When I run the .html file, it runs fine, and debugs fine. However, when I switch the source path to the .swf file, it runs fine but doesn't debug!
When I debug it, the progress gets stuck at 57% and it says "Waiting for Adobe Flash Player to connect to debugger..." in the "Progress" tab. After a few minutes a window pops up that says:
"Failed to connect. The session has timed out. Ensure that you have run the application with debugging on and that I have the debugger version of flash player."
What can I do to fix this? I am on an intel Mac running OS 10.6.5.
When i stated to using debugging option, its showing error that, "The Flash Builder debugger failed to connect to the running application.Ensure that:
1. For in-browser applications, you are running the debugger version of Flash Player.

i am trying to add a web service in flex 4. This web service is deployed in share point 2010 in the intranet . I am able to see this wsdl file through browser but trying to introspect the service is giving an authentication error. I am getting the following error :-

This is the response to my question/error I get, but I don't know how to implement it, It turns out that my issues were caused by having two instances of the same data service class in two different components that were used in the same page. If I changed the components to share the same instance of the data service, then everything works just fine. how to define a service in the main application or elsewhere which can be shared between components?

I need to call an HTTP service using Flex that has variable arguments. I'm using Flash Builder 4 (Gumbo) to create the service definition, but there's no UI for variable arguments, and the subclass of HTTPServiceWrapper that it creates doesn't seem to support it.

The process proceeds as expected and the classes are generated based on the web service description. The code is generated with compile errors in it though.There are 20 errors of 2 varieties. I've included a sample of the errors below.It looks like an error in the auto gen. The auto gen code is trying to dispatch an object of ArrayCollection type. This method returns an array of Presentation objects that are retreived by the service. At the moment there are no DataContracts and I'm allowing the POCO Presentation object to be serialised and punted out by the service that works fine. However, this class has a readonly property of the type System.Drawing.Size that derived from appropriate height and width properties. Looking through the generated code, it doesn't register a 'Size' class in the base import schema although it still seems to create a Size class.
An alternative has been to stop the derived property from being serialised using the [XmlIgnore] but that has not worked. I need a way of allowing my Flex application to communicate with my WCF service but it seems to choke on the System.Drawing.Size type and while I could change this, there are other framework types such as Point, Rectangle, etc, etc. that are utilised within the project.
I just installed FMS 4.5 w/ built in apache on Win2008R2 - accepting all defaults. Samples streams play fine when playing on the server. I copied the sample directory and put on a client on the network. I modified the stream URL using the server's IP address. I also modified the manifest files so that localhost was replaced with the server's IP. When I attempt to view in the sample player I get the following:

When using the bone tool, I have been fairly successful in working with either a shape or a selection of symbols. However, I am unable to connect a shape to a symbol. Is this possible with the bone tool or am I barking up the wrong tree? If not, is there some sort of work-around when part of the animation is constructed from symbols and part is constructed from shapes?
View 1 RepliesI have been trying to get my live feed up and running for friends but they are unale to view it. I have FMS 4 with FMLE 3.2 on Win7. Under the fms url i have 'rtmp://localhost/live' and Stream name is 'livestream' I can view the stream just fine from my computer on which i am running both FMS and FMLE. but when i put the html file on my website, my friends just see the empty swfplayer. You can view it at[URL]. I was trying to figure out what the problem was so i copied the swf code 6 times with different settings but nothing worked. on my computer, only the first swf player works and im guessing that is because its localhost.
View 2 RepliesI have installed Adobe FMS 3.5 on an server and inside "applications" folder I have created a new folder say "abc" and restart the FMS service, now when I try to connect to it from Flash using nectconnection it does not get connected and in netstatus event handler there are 2 messages: NetConnection.Connect.Rejected NetConnection.Connect.Closed Although Flash is connecting to 2 folders "live" and "vod" which were created there by default with installation on FMS. I am not able to figure out why it is happening.

When I retrieve the compiler options (additional languages) it works without errors.Do I need additional steps to be able to use "Locale" and "Services" combined?I used to work with Flex Builder 3 and didn't have the issues....

it happens from the moment I want to use localization + php services....
I am building an AIR application where I receive UDP messages from Max/MSP using the Socket class. When testing in an internal loopback environment ( messages sent from 127.0.0.1 at port 7400 ) I can see the UDP messages being sent, as in: I can receive the messages I'm broadcasting in Max/MSP by listening to port 7400.However, the AIR app throws IO errors when trying to connect ( via the Socket class, using Socket.connect ) to aforementioned IP and port and I for the life of me can't find out why the app has no access to the internal loopback sending UTP ( if for instance, I start a Apache server at the same IP but at different port, the Socket class connects immediately to that IP - it won't receive data of course, but at least it can establish a connection )I am thinking the problem lies outside of the AS app and is an internal networking issue, I'd like to know if someone has experienced a similar error ( I'm on OS X, btw ) as I don't think it's a security sandbox error ( as the event isn't thrown, and the application type is trusted ).
